No host on site. Resort had no control of property.?? Property was (beach and pools) were very good, condo was very nice, bedrooms were tight, parking sucked but at least there was plenty of it!

Spring Break March 2025

We had a wonderful stay. The place was clean and beds were comfortable. This location was on the first floor and able to walk out on the back porch and access the pool and head straight to the beach. This made it extremely easy to take a break, eat some lunch, or run back to use the bathroom. The cafe on premises is delicious and very responsibly priced. The tiki bar made delicious drinks. We felt extremely safe with security guards checking wrist bands. We will be staying here again.

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo! It was up-to-date and nice having a private bath for each bedroom. I loved sitting on the patio during early morning hours drinking coffee and seeing/hearing the ocean.

Wonderful bottom floor Condo

Just got back from our July 4th Family vacation in beautiful Destin. This beautiful condo has all the comforts of home. The location was perfect for our family, the unit is poolside which was very convenient for our family since we had small children with us. Definitely will stay here again!

Family summer vacation

Great location. Enjoy all the amenities and loved the Cafe for convenience. My only suggestion to the property manager is to add high table top chairs on the patio for a better view of pool/ocean. I would definitely return and hope they add this next visit.

Probably the best unit on the property!

Clean, quiet. The unit is centrally located. You are steps from the cafe for snacks, lunch and dinner if you choose. One of the pools is literally right outside of your door. Unloading and reloading the car was super easy because you’re right at the front desk. The beach is steps away. I brought my mother and my 7 year old son on this getaway. We had one hiccup and after contacting the owner(who quickly responded) it was resolved quickly. I highly recommend this unit.

First Family Getaway

This was our first getaway with a blended family and new infant. The first floor location and property location was excellent in all respects. The property was as described and met our needs. It is small but accommodated 3 adults, one tween and an infant adequately. We will book again.

Beautiful first floor condo

This updated first floor condo is beautiful! Patio door is right by pool so great for small kids. We had teens with us who didn’t like the noise early in the morning but definitely liked the easy access to the pool. This resort has a wonderful beach where we sat all day long!

Great location!

Beautiful views for a first floor unit but very convenient for the beach, pool and grilling area. More private than most would think. Condo was great but facility under construction so slightly noisy at times but didn’t bother us much. Had a plumbing issue but worked with VRBO and resort and it got resolved that evening thankfully. Lots to do in the area and within walking distance. Would stay again if we decide to head back to the area.

Great room

loved our stay in Destin. Room was great. Only slight issue is that it is literally right next to the pool. So if you leave your shades open, people can see right into your room. Other than that, it was incredibly convenient since you could walk out your balcony and go straight to either pool.

Can’t wait to come back.

The location is perfect. The first floor is wonderful. No elevator or stairs to worry about. The location is great, moments from everything. The tiki hut was my favorite, drinks on location was perfect. Three different pools to choose from. The cafe is probably 50 feet away. The grill are about the same and well equipped. I’m already planning my trip back.

Poor property cleanliness

Bed and the comforters were filthy and had to ask to replace them. There were blood marks on a comforter and the linen of the other bedroom was full of dirt marks. And the diner table was not cleaned at all. That was the only issue we had, location was good, property was convenient. Staff and house keeping was very responsive and solved cleanliness issue right away.

Beach Therapy

Overall, relaxing vacation. Beach was merely steps away from our room. Poolside room - great access. Well lit parking area, security guards walking around areas. Groundskeepers were actively keeping up with cleaning areas. Staff was readily available when needed, always more than one person behind the counter to help. They were very friendly,. I really appreciated Annie, she went above and beyond helping with some concerns in our unit. She was also very helpful and wealth of knowledge about the Destin area. The only negative comment we have is "The chair rental group hogs the entire beach front access to water. There should be an area for guests to have their own chairs accessible to the waterfront."

Nice condo

Condo is updated and decorated very nicely. It is in a great and easy location right off the pool so we could easily unload our car. It was nice to not deal with elevators. I would recommend that the rug in living room be replaced - it was very sandy upon on our arrival. The beds were very comfortable. This may be personal preference but our family enjoys having more space on the beach. The condo complex is very large and you can rent beach chairs & umbrellas for $35/day. The rental company puts 4 long rows of chairs and then there is not a lot of room left if you have a private set-up. It was crowded in October so I can’t imagine how crowded the beach is during the peak summer.

Perfect location for those with children

This is our second time as a family to stay at Pelican Beach Resort. It has all the amenities as a resort that you need. We are especially fond of the indoor/outdoor pool. Our 20month old enjoyed that and the kiddie pool the most. The particular condo is the perfect location for those with children. We were literally a few doors down from the main entrance. We walked our things (which was a lot of kid items) to our door. You are in front of the main pool but it did not bother us since we were covered with bushes. The only time it would be a bother would be during nap time and at night when you can hear everyone at the pool. We walked right up to the pools. We also love a condo with a washer and dryer so that no dirty laundry is brought home. It was a major plus! Mild downsize which obviously no condo is perfect is it could have been a little cleaner, some bathroom drawers still had hair in it and the floor still felt sandy (what you get right there at the beach). Both of which really didn't bother us. We had to kids under 2, one 11 year old and four adults. We fit perfect. Oh and for the future renter, I'm not sure how the HVAC is ran in the condo but the room closest to the front door is much warmer than the master. We still would book this particular again.

renovation/construction project was underway with no notification

We booked this location for a family get away for Christmas. We booked it in August. Then according to a document that was given to us when we went to the Panhandle management. front desk to complain about the construction we were given a document which stated that the construction started in September. We booked in August and should have been informed. Starting in September a major renovation/construction project stated, closing down the indoor/outdoor pool area, cafe, the dolphin pool and kiddie pool. There was construction going on all over the complex. We had construction workers using our patio area as a storage and work area. Scaffolding and tarping everywhere. I believe we should have been notified that this was going to happen and how it would affect our stay. We would have booked a different location at that point. We were told by the Panhandle management group to contact the VRBO customer service team. We did that but they were not helpful, we never spoke with the same people regarding the issues at the location and nothing was resolved. We completed our stay however, we were disappointed. I think all the people that were booking these accommodations during the construction period should have been notified that this construction project would be going on and what it would affect during their stay. At that point it would have been that renter's decision to keep the reserved time frame it or change it. We spoke with several other families that also booked these accommodations and were never notified either, they too were dissatisfied. Regarding the condo itself, it was smaller than expected, it needed a good dusting/cleaning, the baseboards need wiping down, and a furnace filter changed. There was mold in both bathrooms. The main couch (Hide-a-bed) needs to be replaced or at the least new couch cushions. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking needs, the beds were comfortable. I believe that should be some cleaning supplies left for the renters to use as needed. Would we stay there again I doubt it, at this point I am not sure I would use vrbo again either. This wasn't handled well by their customer service team either. Disappointing Christmas holliday :( D.Schaffner 12/2022

We could not locate any correspondence from the phone number or email address we have on file for you, and it sounds like you may have spoken with a resort representative, as we do not have front desk staff on-site. We notified all affected guests about the construction at the resort in advance, according to the timeline we received from the HOA. This is also included on our listing page. The outdoor walkway work in September was scheduled for units ending in 07 to 11, and the unit you stayed in (113) was scheduled for completion on November 23rd, about a month prior to your arrival. We received a revised schedule from the HOA, which included unit 113, and was backdated to the time of your stay, on January 7th, over a week after your departure. Nonetheless, we are greatly disappointed about the miscommunication that took place and how it impacted your vacation. We have been in touch with the resort management and we're working with them, and our own staff, to ensure this does not happen again. We would love an opportunity to make it up to you, and we hope for a chance to earn your trust in the future.
