This review is just plain mean, and misleading. This family negotiated 2 extra days free, due to the fact that we were putting in a new pier, and one of the pieces had not arrived. I called the night before to discuss this. They said it was fine, as they were not renting a boat. They asked for an early check in which I granted. I talked with the adult daughter of the person that wrote this review. She said we all had a great time, that is just my parents. During the negotiation, for the 2 extra nights, I was told they would clean, wash the sheets, and make the beds. My cleaning partner and I still had to clean when we went to check it. The coffee maker should be reported to me, instead of left in a review. I now have a new combo coffee maker with K-Cup. Also, due to the review, NOT proper communication, my handyman was there before the next check in and changed the leaking faucet, and put liquid plumber down the drain. I am very responsive to maintenance issues, and making sure my customers have a good time. And there are many kitchen dish rags, if asked; I could have directed them to where they were. We ordered the ramp for the NEW FLO pier over a month ago, and have been calling repeatedly to find out where it is. Changing out the pier is not easy, but we are working on it as fast as we can. Front door closes fine. Deck is not filthy. Weed patrol is coming this week, but we must follow DNR rules.

We are planning on updating the dock for the next season. We have been looking for a really nice one, and will have a new pier soon. We update different things as needed.

We are planning on replacing most of the furniture before next season. The futon is quite new, but I had become aware that someone had broken it. The mattresses were purchased in 2009 which is pretty new, and I have not had any one else tell me anything about the mattresses. That is something I will have to check on. We will also have a new beach since the water level has been high this year and we replace the beach ever few years. There are four lights in the living room, and a sliding glass door exit. I do go up there each week, and I have not smelled any oil smell, and have not had anyone else tell me anything about that.

We are working on trying to get the backyard less wet. In June especially, there is a lot of rain. We were trying to decide exactly what to do, and we are planning to simply bring in more dirt at the end of the season. The neighbors did that, and ended up making our yard lower, so we thought the best solution would be to bring in dirt and try to make the yard higher, but timing is always an issue with something like that. I do believe we have figured out the direct TV issue, and the dvd player is there. But we did upgrade the Comcast, so that no matter what, people will have plenty of tv. Also, I am surprised that you ran out of toilet paper, because I do try to make sure there is plenty there. I was completely unaware of the a bedroom door issue. I will check into that. (I have since checked that bedroom door, and I am not sure what happened because it worked perfect for me.)

This situation was very different than most, because we ended up with a winter rental, with some conditions, while they are waiting for their house to be built. Part of their terms were that they made sure it was clean, and ready for the weekend renters that had already rented, and they would not be able to have those weekends, even though they are there the rest of the time until February. And I would have had the furniture updated; however, that is put off until the winter rental is done. Then we will steam clean and shampoo the carpets, and update the furniture. The furniture about 5 years old, and it gets a lot of use over the summers, so we had decided it was time to replace it with new. I had had a professional cleaner come in before the winter rental started, and will have her come in again before the season starts. I did not know that my winter rentals had not taken all of their food, but it seems they did not. They must have figured that since they were coming back on Sunday, that they would still use part of the refrigerator. My winter rental, that was managing this particular weekend, told me that all the sheets were clean, so the “5 loads of laundry” at the beginning was unnecessary. The reviewer did state that they could have been rumpled, by a person or dog, sitting on the bed after it was made. So she was not sure that they were not clean. But part of their deal was to wash the sheets and make the beds, so they simply did that at the beginning, and then did not do it at the end, so we did their laundry. Also, there are extra sets of clean sheets in every room. Also, we have a very large washer and dryer (under 2 years old), and I know the maximum amount of beds that could have been used was 2, so 5 loads seems excessive. I also know I had brought all of the bedspreads home and washed them all, and taken them back up in the middle of September. And I admit that I had her confused with another person that I talked with, so I was mistaken when I thought I had talked with her husband. I was simply trying to remember. We are always updating, and it is time for another update. We try hard to make it nice for people, and we have many nice amenities, and I have many repeats.
