Great family ski house!

We had a wonderful time at the Acorn House. The pool / ping pong table was a hit with the kids. The sunny deck and hot tub was a lovely way to relax after a day of skiing. Overall it was a great stay!

Iconic Mountain Getaway

Clean, well laid-out mountain getaway that met all of our vacation rental goals including fireplace and hot tub. It was well stocked with quality cooking tools and basic supplies which we greatly appreciated. It had endless entertainment options for kids of all ages, also greatly appreciated. Though the larger beds were not the most comfortable this house remains a fabulous find, especially for families.

Fun cabin with nice outdoor area

The cabin is great and we would definitely recommend. The pros: spacious, clean, great deck with hot tub that has easy top lift, surrounded by pines, great view of golf course, fun games in loft, nice beds upstairs. The cons: microwave did not work, the deck was covered thick with pine needles that we had to sweep, the fire pit did not have a cover but we found it later on the side of the house so we put it on the fire pit, the downstairs bed is uncomfortable and noisy. Overall it was just what we wanted and just as described.

Acorn house

We were told the freezer was broken a few days before arriving but was assured that the refrigerator portion was functioning properly, that was not true it wouldn't go colder than 53-54 degrees. The pool table is very small which would have been fine but every pool cue is broken and has no tip on it. So it is unusable. Pretty upsetting that the property manager never even responded about these things when brought to attention. The good things, hot tub was great. The gas bbq worked great. The bathrooms were nice and the house was well stocked besides needing a knife set like a chef's knife. I would stay again if those few things were addressed and got a partial refund for the issues, otherwise I'm probably not using this company again.

Cute property

Lovely smaller sized house with a great location close to Truckee. Much enjoyed the hot tub, air hockey table and pool table. I would bring your own condiments for cooking (no salt to be found) and your own shampoo and conditioner (only tiny packets of powder versions are provided). Otherwise the other issues people mentioned didn't bother us (no locks on door, etc). Enjoyed the house and would rebook this property if available.

Great cabin!

Nice layout, very clean, backed up to a snow covered golf course. Great location. Check in is 4pm and check out is an early 10am. Stove not working and we were informed a couple of hours before our stay, so on route and food was packed to cook. A small $25 night credit was given for 8 people. They had good communication. Otherwise, we loved it.

Weekend stay

Property was in a great location, right off the golf course. Close to ski areas and swimming pools and gym. Hot tub was great. Place was clean, plenty of towels. Beds were comfortable, However, kitchen items such as knives, pots, paper products were sub-par for this type of property and cost. Also, the outside, bear-proof garbage storage was full, so we could not remove garbage to the outside. Perhaps pick up company missed a run. These are minor fixes.

Great property in Truckee

This is a great property in Truckee. The house was clean and the listing was accurate. Check in and check out were very easy. The house was a good size for our family of 6 and a good central location for the activities we had planned (river rafting, Tahoe hikes, etc.) The back deck with the hot tub surrounded by the pine trees was fantastic and got a lot of use. Overall, the house is well appointed, but there are a few smaller items that could be changed to make this property even better. Some small upgrades to kitchen supplies (needs newer utensils, steak knives, mixing bowls) would make a big difference. Plastic glasses should be provided for use in the hot tub and there should be a lock on the upstairs bathroom door. Otherwise this is a great property and we would definitely consider staying again.

Family Trip

The place was ok . My kids really like the pool table and air hockey. We did enjoy the hot tub, and being able to take a walk on a path in the back was the golf course. However, with that said, the place was a little off with no locks on any of the doors . Only one bathroom. The kitchen was not very functional, had to improvise with my meals, no mixing bowls, steak knives, to name a few. Make sure you bring extra blankets , and toilet paper. Was not informed that you had to bring your own TP . The temp in the house was either cold or too hot . Would not just stay comfortable. Would I stay there again , probably not . But it was nice .

Almost Perfect Stay!

Loved our stay at this cabin. Place had everything we needed: shampoo, soap, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, glasses, toaster, coffee maker, seasonings, necessities like oil, sugar and even filtered water. Dishwasher and washer both also had soap. We’re a family of four so there was more than enough space, beds and towels. What we enjoyed: - The pool/air hockey/ping-pong table. This gave us lots of entertainment for hours. - The hot tub. Used it out first night only because although it was nice on a cold night, water was just warm and not hot. - The pickleball court in the Clubhouse. They actually closed the courts for the season but since we brought our own equipment, they let us use the two courts. - Warmth. The cabin heating system worked well. At times it was actually too hot so we had to turn it way down at night. - Fireplace. The cabin provided the firewood so we used it our last night. It provided extra heat in the living room. - Downtown Truckee. We were 10 min away from town. - VACASA customer service was attentive 24/7 What we did not like: - The description of the cabin showed a gas grill so we bought meat and vegetables to grill but the grill was in the garage and not setup at all so we just used the stove / oven to cook our Thanksgiving meal. - The Trout Rec Center was accessible to us but the cost was $20/person per day. This would’ve given us access to the heated pool and gym but since we didn’t need to use either, it was not a big loss.

Lovely Home with a collection of small fixes

Starting with some positives: they were lovely and let us check in early. Checkout was great! Maybe 4-5 easy things to do like start the dishwasher, take sheets off bed etc. Great WiFi with no issues. Easy access to snow play right outside the back of the house. The HOA plowed the driveway one of the days which was fantastic. Nice newer towels and plenty of them. A few snow toys for the kiddos. Plenty of board games. Then a bunch of small issues that are easily fixable: not enough paper towels, shampoo/conditioner, mixing bowls, Tupperware/food storage. The knives were super dull. There isn’t a lock on the upstairs bathroom door which is awkward with multiple families staying. It would’ve been nice to have the back deck cleared of snow to enjoy the hot tub and get down the deck for snow play. A few throw blankets in the living room area would be nice. The snow fall on the 2nd morning wasn’t too bad but if it had snow a lot then we would’ve had a rough time getting out of the driveway. The HOA didn’t clear the driveway on the 2nd morning. If you’re staying, bring more paper towels, zip loc bags, food storage containers, soap/shampoo. The floor is slippery so we had the kids barefoot. I wish I had brought grippy socks. We enjoyed our time but aren’t sure if we’d stay again because of all of the small issues.

Dream Winterwonderland Cabin

Great House

We had a great time staying at the Acorn house! Kids had fun playing air hockey, and loved the bunk beds! They also decorated the Christmas tree (sorry if we were not allowed to do that) The house was clean and stocked with essentials. There are absolutely no complaints! We would definitely come back in the future.
