Fun Family Get-together

Our family ranged from 82 years old down to 10 months and many ages in between. There was something for everyone and enjoyed by all. The kitchen was well equipped, making meal preparation very easy. The stairs leading down to the lower level could be a bit daunting for anyone with mobility issues. Overall, this is a lovely home for multi-generational families to gather.

Family ski trip with friends

3 families-6 adults and 6 kids. Was really the perfect house for our group. Lots of space and fun for kids and adults. Close to Tahoe Donner and North Star, hot tub was great, house was comfortable and well-equipped. Recommend!

Incredible House for Family / Group

We are a multi-generational family with ages ranging 10 months to 70 years, and we LOVED our time in this home. The place was spotless and so well stocked, with a feeling of privacy given the location on a hill / amongst the beautiful trees. The layout is conducive to sleeping a lot of people with privacy and good bathroom access. The amenities are so fun, including the pool table (and though we didn't use it, the hot tub looked amazing). The kitchen accommodated multiple chefs at one time, essential for us Italians, and had all the items we needed to make a fully Thanksgiving dinner. Would absolutely come back here with family - or friends. 10/10!

Awesome Weekend

We had 6 couples stay here for 2 days to celebrate my 50th birthday. I grew up in Truckee and was excited to spend it back in my hometown. There was snow on the upper balcony so we didn’t spend any time out there but it wasn’t a big deal. Had a tough time connecting to WiFi but just nitpicking. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! I left some serving bowls and copper mugs in the kitchen so I need to contact someone to try and retrieve them.

Nice home but a few recommendations

The home was very nice. I would stay there again but a few kinks to our stay. First the Vacasa app would not work. I kept getting an error code when I tried to confirm my account. I was not able to add the late check out I wanted. 10 am is way to early, 11am is standard. I was also told the home was empty and I would most likely be able to do an early check in, I called 3 times to confirm details as that was very important to our stay. I was told something different almost every time. The last time, day of I was told the home had been rented for 30 days prior to my stay and I could not do an early check in due to it needing to be cleaned. I’m not sure I believe that since I was told the opposite by two other agents, but ok. There was not even close to enough towels. I went to throw a towel in the dryer to reuse it and I found all the towels in the dryer, housekeeping had not put them away. So we had like 6 towels between 10 people our entire stay due to this. The remote in the downstairs bunk room does not work properly, I think the batteries need to be changed. The one time we went to watch TV, we couldn’t. No hair dryers could be found. We were in and out of the house quickly due to 4pm Friday check in and Sunday 10am checkout and us being at an event all day Saturday, I didn’t have time to call Vacasa in regards to the above issues. Again house was very nice, worked for a large group.

Wonderful Family Home! Don't Stay in Tahoe, stay in Truckee!!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my family's first trip to the Tahoe/Truckee area and this home made such a wonderful home base for all of us. We were a family of 10 (6 adults and 4 kids) and we had plenty of space to stretch out, eat, play and sleep. The two decks are huge and were a wonderful place to relax and eat. We used the hot tub and barbecue which were wonderful. The home is up to date and inviting. It is on a quiet street with a beautiful view of the forest and ski runs from the back deck. We stayed in the summer, so we did not use the many fireplaces, but I could see how they would be wonderful in the winter months. The kids loved the "Man Cave" room that had the two bunk beds and a Wii game system. Both of the bunks had full beds on the bottom, which was a definite plus. In addition to the "Man Cave" downstairs, the house has a master bedroom upstairs, two queen bedrooms downstairs, and another bedroom with two bunks (one with a full on the bottom). The bathrooms were all updated and had rain showers in two of them. There were plenty of seating and the kitchen was well stocked with whatever you would need to make meals, which we did every night. The house was clean and is located about 15 minutes from Donner Lake and marina. We enjoyed the quietness of Donner over Tahoe by far. The only small complaint I would say is that when we arrived the house was 89 degrees inside and it took all night for it to cool down. There were plenty of fans in the house to put in each room to help cool it down. Overall, this house was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it to any family who is looking for a beautiful and conveniently located home in gorgeous Truckee.

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: By far worst experience with VRBO. Maybe it has to do with the 'home away' subsidiary, but dozens of good experiences with VRBO. I could go on and on and on, but there is too much to say for the 2000 character max. First, we could not get in the unit because the lockbox code was wrong, then the place was dirty. 15+ bags of garbage in garage, chunks of meat still on grill, etc. Smoke alarm battery was low, not a single TV worked. Boze sound system that they touted did not even have a receiver. But worst of all, none of the three fireplaces worked, and that is only source of heat in upstairs. So, we sat in 60 degree home until maintenance arrived 7 hours later. Good thing we had our winter jackets. Some of these things I might expect from a lower end place, but between rental fees, booking fees, cleaning, taxes, etc. this was almost a thousand dollars a night. Very unhappy, and unless I hear back from someone at the company about how they are going to make this right, it will be the last time our family, the two other families we stayed with, and all or our combined friends stay with VRBO/HomeAway. PS. Maintenance man Jack was great, and only reason your getting more that one star for property management company

Cabin with warm and cozy Jacuzzi wasn’t working right a little bit of plumbing issues but overall the place is nice that accommodates a big family .I love the game

Mountain Cabin Extravaganza

Our stay at this adorable cabin in the woods was an unforgettable experience. The property was perfect for all of our needs and was stocked with all of the necessary fixings for a great trip. Would definitely stay here again. Exceeded expectations and would highly recommend.

Great House!!

Reviewer Comments: Within 10 minutes of our arrival, we had to call for plumbing issues, than came to heating problems and of course to hottub did not work well and we had to call in the jets. It was also NOT clean with dirty dishes in the cabinets and a drawer that had old plastic bags with mold on them. They only good was the location and the garage was the cleanest place in the house.

Great Family Getaway

Fun for the Family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a great time at the Woodland home. It had just snowed and it was beautiful. The view of the mountains from the deck was incredible. We loved the layout of the house and that everyone had their own rooms. The furniture is not new but the home had that comfortable cozy feel to it. The pool table and the dartboard along with all the games made the evenings quite enjoyable. You need to bring your own pool sticks as only one pool stick was good. The master bedroom carpet was pretty spotted but we chalked it up to people coming in with snow boots and gear. Hot tub was very clean. We ate at the Lodge and at Jax on the Tracks and the food was really good. Our family had a fabulous time and we can’t wait to go back.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I came here for my 34th birthday with my entire family and can honestly say my expectations were more than met. This home warmed out hearts and gave us the space to bond like never before. The hot tub is a great touch, big kitchen, closeness to grocery stores but the absolutely best part was witnessing the first snowfall of the season accompanied by the forest. There's a neat surround sound bose system in the home but we couldn't figure out how to use it so I recommend bringing your own speaker in case you run into this problem. Lastly one of my family groups forgot to reload some belongings left in the garage during our shuffle to check out. The items were not recovered and we're not exactly sure what happened with them and are bummed out by the loss but I do appreciate how the Turnkey team and property supervisor handled the situation. Enjoy your stay and double/triple check you leave with all of your items, it's a big house and the check out time is early.

Beautiful property just need better management

This is such a beautiful property in a really nice location But management is horrible We had to keep our garbage in the garage for the whole week which caused a very unpleasant smell The dishwasher was broken and we had to wash dishes by hand for 14 people They kept saying that someone was going to came but nobody showed We were only able to get into the house 2 hours later because the lock wasn’t working I hope the owner changes the management company because they are simple horrible
