Nuestra casa, Villa Sol y Luna se encuentra en el magnífico campo de golf Playacar y está situado en el extremo norte del curso. Esto hace que nuestra casa ideal para ir andando a la playa, ir de compras, ferry a Cozumel, y todos los maravillosos restaurantes y discotecas de Playa del Carmen. A 5-10 minutos a pie se pone en la playa o en el corazón de la 5ta Avenida, Playa del Carmen.

Nuestra casa en Playacar, Villa Sol y Luna, es un lugar maravilloso para relajarse con los amigos y la familia. Nuestra casa privada, jardines y piscina se mantienen a diario por nuestro cuidador, y nuestra empresa de gestión de propiedad bilingüe está disponible para ayudarle con cualquier viaje, transporte o pregunta que pueda tener. Nuestra camarera se encargará de todo lo demás, 3 veces a la semana.

La Riviera Maya y Playa del Carmen tienen mucho que ofrecer para unas excelentes vacaciones; Playas de arena blanca, parques ecológicos, ruinas mayas, restaurantes gourmet, tiendas, pesca en alta mar, snorkeling, buceo, golf y un montón de la cultura mexicana y la hospitalidad.

Great location Playa Del Carmen

The house was in a great quiet neighborhood and felt extremely safe walking jogging .and best part we could leave our car at the house and walk to many resturants ;shopping and the beach.

Perfect Place for a Vacation with Family

This house is awesome! Our kids loved the pool, the layout of the home works well for families, it is clean, and quiet. Cathy was great to work with, and very communicative. We literally have nothing bad to say about this house, and we have stayed at many, many vacation rentals. We moved from this house to a resort, and we would have preferred to stay at this house over the resort. The next time we come to Mexico, we will skip the resort and just stay here.

Great Space BUT……..

The space was great with medium size pool that was perfect for a dip for our five kids. Location and the proximity to beach and shopping is a bonus. The seven of us were upset we had to leave. The AC was unable to cool the first floor, including the bedroom where my wife and I slept, below 78 F. That was bearable for me although I found myself repeatedly telling people to close the sliding door. It was the broken fridge. On day two we shopped for our family of seven. Meat, poultry, and dairy went into a fridge which my wife thought was a bit warm. I insisted it was all the groceries we had just put in. Wake up next morning and used curdled cream in my coffee. That’s when we start to think something was wrong. The chicken and meat smelled. The cheese was soft, and butter smelled funky. It was 60 F in the fridge. Management sent out someone, we followed his directions, which included keeping the freezer on low. That night we fill up the fridge. Next morning fridge is warm again. We are a family of seven as much as we enjoy eating out on vacation it’s not economical or healthy I expect a working fridge at my rental. The repairman came back and said it would take a few days to fix The Manager and the owner should have known the AC and the fridge did not work. We wanted to stay but it wasn’t going to work out. I was hoping they would go out and got one of the fridges I saw at the MegaSuper. After discussion with VRBO the owner refunded our entire amount. We didn’t to leave.

Great Space BUT sometimes things break-down and that is unfortunately what happened for Farid's family. The repairmen and property managers did everything they could to get the refrigerator working properly but were lacking a part to make the permanent fix. None of us have a crystal ball on mechanical issues and repair or replacement in Mexico often takes time. We decided to refund Farid and his family the entire amount of the rental although they had stayed there for 5 out of 11 days. The refrigerator was fixed after the replacement part was found. We were pleased they were able to find another property or hotel for their large group.

Magnifique villa au coeur de playa car!

Nous avons eu un merveilleux séjour! Les points faibles: très forte odeur d'humidité dans nos premières journées, 3 chaises longues dispos mais 1 brisée, manquait de place à la table alors on en a acheter une ainsi que des nouilles de psicine-ballon et cheminee pour partie le bbq (dont la grille serait à changer. Le toit de la terrasse coule aussi beaucoup lorsqu'il pleut. Les points forts; la grande cuisine, la piscine très bien entretenu, les murs recouvert de plantes tropicales qui attirent beaucoup d'oiseaux, de très grandes serviettes de plage! laveuse et sécheuse sur place, super communication avec le booking. le spot est magnifique, je relouerais chaque année!

Great place to unwind and enjoy Playa del Carmen

We stayed in Cathy's villa with my husband and two kids for 10 days. It's a perfect place if you want to have your privacy while still being close to the beach and great restaurants that Playa del Carmen has to offer. The villa is very well maintained and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I would love to stay here next time if we happen to travel to Playa del Carmen again

Lovely Garden

We stayed for 3 days and had a good time. Pool and garden are great, lots of birds, little capi bara things, and iguanas. Getting thru the gates was a little bit of a pain, the guards could not care less about the bracelets we purchased to get thru. Don’t bother with that In my opinion. But a nice, peaceful stay!

A place to feel like home in Playacar!

Myself and two friends spent 11 nights at Casa Sol y Luna. We loved every moment of staying here. The home is spacious, cozy and well stocked. When we arrived we were happy to find beach towels, sunscreen, kitchen tools and cooking basics. There was everything we needed. By the end of our stay it really felt like home and we were sad to leave. The backyard is a lovely place to relax and we loved the pool. The location is great, next to the golf course but so private. It felt like our own private jungle with so many animals to watch! We always felt safe at the house with an on site grounds keeper and being located in gated Playacar. The property is maintained very well. One day during our stay there was very heavy rainfall which made some of the tiles over the patio fall, but they were cleaned up quickly by the next morning. Cathy was a great host, always very quick to reply and helpful when we wanted to extend our stay and request a late check out. Each bedroom has its own bathroom which was great. We were working remotely from the villa and never had any issues with wifi and found the space great to work from. The only negative point was that the beds and couches were not the most comfortable. Both were quite hard. Luckily the bedrooms were so cozy and private it wasn’t a huge issue. Overall we would recommend this place to anyone who wants a safe, comfortable and beautiful home while in Playa Del Carmen. We certainly hope to return one day!

Great house!

Great house. Host and property manager were very accessible, checkin was a breeze. Location, location, location. Store and restaurants 10 minute walk. 5th Ave. 10 minute walk. Beach 10 minute walk. Stand alone house at the end of a Cul de sac with a beautiful private pool. Would definitely stay here again.

Great space, quiet and safe environment to relax or live it up with family and friends.

I’ve been to the house many times and am never disappointed. A central location close to many activities. A short walk to 5th Avenue restaurants and shopping, the ferry to Cozumel and the playacar beaches. Also a quick drive or taxi ride to the local grocery store Cheddraui, local beaches Akumal and xpu ha, fresh water cenotes and the ruins and beaches in Tulum. Highly recommend it and will definitely go again.

House is in need of repairs.

Home owner failed to tell us house was under renovations. House was full of drywall dust. Couldn't even see out of windows. Master bathroom shower leaked thru ceiling into kitchen. Home owner was informed of leak and she told us she knew about leak. Second bathroom shower upstairs didn't work. Tiles on kitchen counter around sink were missing. There are broken tiles in pool. Beds were extremly hard. Maid did a great job of cleaning the house. Caretaker lived on site. He was always around. He gave us no privacy. I would avoid this rental until renovation and repairs are completed. We would have booked a different house if home owner would of been honest about condition/renovations of house. We left the property early and stayed in hotel for remainder of our trip.

We would just like to clarify a few items so there are no misunderstandings. Brian and his family arrived at our home when renovations of the bathroom and kitchen tile areas were supposed to be complete but the workers were unable to finish before their arrival - as we all discovered upon their arrival. This is our vacation home and we pay for local property management to take care of issues and cleaning and maintenance. The house was not clean of drywall dust when this party arrived and we had it cleaned immediately upon notification by the renters. Also at that time we had several emails assuring the renters that we would refund their entire fees if they chose to go elsewhere to stay.We also suggested that they let the property managers know if anything was wrong or not working etc. so they could make corrections. The party then stayed for a week or with no issues or complaints stated until 2 nights before leaving when they told us the showers were leaking and not working and they believed the beds were too hard. In their memo they praised our caretaker who lives in a tiny house by the carport not in the house that is rented. We would have wished this renter as well as any others let us know (owners) when there are issues that can be fixed, changed or cleaned immediately so we can ask those issues to be fixed. Currently we are completing the bathroom renovations and tiling to ensure all is ready for any winter rentals. Cathy and Craig Owners, Villa Sol y Luna November 30, 2017

Great home, great location

This is a terrific place to stay and a far more interesting way to visit Mexico versus an all-inclusive resort. It's a short walk to the beach and the many restaurants and bars of Playa. The house is in very good condition and the whole experience was super-nice.

Perfect Escape

A group of 6 friends, all mid 30s, had a memorable week here relaxing in the low key atmosphere of the house, enjoying the pool, the airy and spacious living space and the amazing proximity to the town of Playa. Playa birthday- love this place!!!

Our trip in March to playa and sol y Luna in particular was stellar as always. I've stayed at the house 9 times and am never disappointed. This time I took two friends-cor one, it was her birthday and first time out of the country; the other has been to Mexico but only to all inclusive resorts. This trip made a lasting impression- be it the home away from home atmosphere, flexibility to eat breakfast with our small group by the pool, float in the pool and chat just amongst ourselves with no distraction, or sit with our feet in the pool reading a book. Those things coupled with the expansive but not too big Mayan themed all tile house to the short walk to the white sand beaches, turquoise blue Caribbean and renowned Fifth avenue shopping, restaurants, authentic food and friendly playa servers, made this trip a dream birthday vacation for my friends and the usual relaxing trip for me. It never gets old. The only downside was that we had to return to the States, leaving us to figure out when we could return to this great hidden vacation home getaway. As the title says, love this place.

Fantastic house in perfect location

Villa Sol y Luna was much larger than the pictures show which was a wonderful surprise when we go to the home. The home was a bit musty when we first entered, but after opening windows and turning on the AC for a bit it was just fine. The house was built in 1998 and the furnishings, etc. are from that era. If you are looking for an ultra modern house this is not for you. My girlfriends and I found the house to be more than accommodating with 3 separate bathrooms and showers made getting ready for an evening meal very easy after a long day at the beach. The kitchen worked fine for the few meals we made at the house. Again, this is not a home for huge dinner parties, but it worked just fine for making sandwiches and breakfast meals. We didn't use the pool as much as a family with kids may have, but it was nice to take a quick dip and was a nice feature in the backyard. I would highly recommend this property. The owners were very quick with responses and it is a great value in the safe community of Playacar. If you are looking to branch away from the resorts, this home is for you.

Great owners, house in need of TLC

First of all, let me say that communication with the owners was second to none! I have asked Cathy and Craig a zillion questions and they were always quick to answer and they also provided useful information regarding airport transportation, activities, restaurants, etc. As far as the house is concerned, I have to agree with the last reviewer that there are a few flaws and if you expect a luxurious rental, look somewhere else. No wine glasses, dishwasher not doing what it is supposed to do, linens and towels are very old, broken blinds, broken toaster, missing blender cover, master bedroom bath plugging, dishes, and worst of all, the very bad smell coming from the laundry area. The A/C was a little noisy but did the job! The day after our arrival, I emailed management to let them know that 4 lights were not working and that the screen patio door was falling apart. They came quickly and changed three lightbulbs but didn’t fix the patio door nor changed the swimming pool light. Would have been fun for evening swimming. The maid did an excellent job and the pool boy kept the pool clean! But this guy lives right on the property and he could and did show up at anytime given moment during the day, even when we were enjoying the backyard! We did not appreciate that as we were under the impression that he would show up before 7 in the morning and only once a day. Would we go back to this house? Absolutly, since we are not fussy people and we adapt easily. We think the price for 2 weeks was more than fair. It was quiet, relaxing, a short walk to the beach, an even shorter walk to 5th avenue, 20 minute walk to a major grocery store, the pool was great, so was the neighborhood and we never ever had a security concern. But we have to admit that the house and its content is in need of TLC.

A big disappointment -- I would not recommend this property

This villa is well located and the grounds have abundant flowers, trees, birds and wildlife. It is in dire need of improvements i.e. renovations. There was a very strong sewage smell when we arrived. overpowering smell of raw sewage. We opened the patio door thinking it was from the house being closed up. After about an hour, we realised that it would take more than airing out the house. The smell seemed to come from the laundry area closet and under the kitchen sink. The washing machine was totally rusted on the inside and a very foul smell was coming from it. We put on the air-conditioner thinking that might help, but it did not. As well, the air-conditioning units for the upstairs bedrooms are old and extremely noisy. Even trying to cool off the bedrooms before sleeping was like sleeping under a subway track!!!! After heading upstairs, we saw that the cupola in the roof of the 2nd bathroom was leaking. There was a puddle of water on the floor and a bucket in the closet near the bathroom. A clear indication that these problems are long-standing. We used the master bedroom washroom, which immediately got plugged. Tried the second bathroom upstairs...same problem. The master bathroom tub was always plugged, the cheap paint job on the walls bled every time we took a shower!!! The property manager as well as the maintenance people had the same observations regarding your property: the toilets are a problem, the washer was finished a long time ago, the dishwasher doesn't work (basically falling apart) and the house is not well maintained. The linens and towels are threadbare. A diversity of chipped dishes and odds and ends. ONE wine glass. Dishwasher old and smelly and does not clean dishes. Blinds broken. Blender has no cover. The toaster was broken. The television which is a throwback to the early 2000's has a broken on/off button. The dining room chairs and sofa/chairs were obviously re-upholstered and have no cushion making sitting on them very uncomfortable. After the first week, had it not been that my mother and son were arriving for the second week of our stay, we would have left.We did leave on Sunday January 12 and were very happy to do so. In all fairness, we did receive a partial refund and the owners did try to fix the problems. But renting out a property that is not up to standard is irresponsible and did not make for a very satisfying vacation.

Our guests in the Villa unfortunately arrived to find that our sewer pipes had broken underneath the house and thus the smell and drainage problems began the day of their arrival. The guests which had left 3 days before and those that arrived one week after had no such concerns and expressed their interest in renting again in the future. Several pipes, Toilets and the washing machine were replaced during this time frame and other repairs (such as the roof leak) are currently being carried out by our property managers. To attempt to remediate the difficulties these guests had with the foul odors - we refunded 50% of their payment and offered to assist them in finding another home or apartment for the vacation. We hope that all current and future guests will inform us and our property management group immediately when there are maintenance issues or items to be replaced. Amazing home!

Sol y Luna was more beautiful than we expected! It was so nice and relaxing to walk into such an amazing home after a long flight. The location is great, close to 5th ave and in a great community. So peaceful at night! All 6 of us were able to sit and have breakfast and dinner together which made it really nice for our group. The maid did an amazing job and property management made sure we always had filtered water and they were fast to fix the hot water! Great place we would defiantly go back to!

AMAZING

This property was more than we expected. The house was so big, windows everywhere to let in the light and sun. The housekeeping was so thorough, the cleanest of any property we have rented in the past. Pool was ready by 6:30 every morning. The property managers were extremely helpful, checking every couple of days to see if there were any problems. I can't say enough of all the personnel. The owners were so amicable and helpful. If you want peace and quiet as well as privacy...this is the place! Even some critters coming through every day and they were such a treat. Word of warning..do not eat at Ipanema steak house, very expensive and not very good, there is a Hamburger, taco place around the corner which is not too bad, Rolandi's is pretty good as well. If you want a great coffee, head to Au Cocao and get a great latte. I highly recommend Sol Y Luna to all, whether it is couples or a family, even a girls get away. Be adventurous and rent a car, Mega is a great place to shop for food, lots of big stores around for that. While you have the car, head to Puerto Aventuras for lunch and watch the dolphins while you eat. Enjoy! Mike & Georgette Sharon, ON..Canada
