Cranky neighbors.

Property and home are beautiful. We loved it. The dock and water were amazing. The house was so neat. My kids loved the old style to it. The neighbors must not be a fan of the owners renting. As they came over a lot to tell us how they like things and what they expected from us. We sat in the deck at 530pm the first night with our kids and were asked to go inside as they could hear us, while they were on their deck. Did not appreciate that. They also let their dogs run free in the shared yard which made it hard for my son to be outside as he has a fear of dogs. The one set of neighbors house is very very close so they could hear any sound coming off the deck. Was not able to enjoy it without them complaining to us.

Great location, great cabin

Great place for our family vacation. We’ve been coming to Sandpoint area for years, this was wonderful. You can wade into the water at the dock, fire pit was fantastic, cabin was cozy. Plenty of parking. Highly recommend

Dream cottage on the lake

We loved this dream cottage on the lake! We loved the private access to the lake, the huge lawn, the spacious fire pit seating area. The views from the dining room and deck make your day. The cottage is spacious and have all amenities for comfortable living. The Internet was very fast. I would recommend adding a kettle in the kitchen and a lighter for lighting manually the barbecue because the barbecue igniter doesn’t work. It would be nice to have some water recreational equipment like paddle boards and kayaks to make the best of the private dock. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation here and we will definitely be back.

We had to go get propane midway through bbq ing. The crane beeped all night long. There was no coffee so I had to go buy that. The refrigerator ruined half my fresh produce because it froze anything touching it, so I wasted a lot of my food. It was pretty hot and there’s no air conditioner. There’s no lights on the stairs so it’s dangerous to walk down. The silverware drawer is falling apart. The mattresses were low quality since you can feel the springs. There were good parts but I would not have carpet where the dining room table and back deck sliding door is. It’s hard to clean food off shag carpet.

Perfect setting

House was clean and welcoming. Kitchen/linens fully stocked. Outdoor yard was huge for kids to play. Kids enjoyed jumping off the dock and into the river. House was a bit warm. No A/C but lots of fans provided. Property was situated in ideal location for our needs. Neighbors were friendly. Huge parking space.

Amazing Vacation Spot!

This was such an amazing place and such a great spot for a relaxing / fun getaway!!! House has well stocked kitchen, great floor plan, lots of space. Large back deck with view of the river. Big well kept yard for kids to play in and dock, water access is perfect! We loved out stay and plan to stay again!!!

A really nice spot!

A friend group of 6 gathered at this property for a fun getaway. It was a great location! The house is old and somewhat outdated, but was very clean. There were a few quirks (sliding door was very hard to open/close and lock) but nothing that was a big deal. It was great to have 2 bathrooms with showers for 6 women. The best part is the large back yard and water front area with dock. We hung out by the fire pit and floated around on the water all day. The water was calm and warm and you get full sun all day at this spot. The house had everything we needed. We would stay there again!

Great Time

Wasn't initially impressed but over the course of the 3 days we stayed it turned out great. There is no air conditioning in the house which I don't recall that being pointed out in the description, but the nights were cool and we left the windows open and it was fine.

It was difficult getting into the home because the box with the key had a broken reset button. The code wouldnt work no matter what we did. Finally we got a screw driver and pushed the reset buttonthen the code worked. Everything else was great. Clean place on the water that met our needs. Home has a great feel to it. Newer clean carpet. Very quiet area.

Laclede Lake House

We have stayed here multiple times and it is our go to for a small group when we travel to Sandpoint. Great spot on the lake, always clean, and the kids like the bunk beds and pullout couch.

Nice property on the lake. Clean throughout and has all of the necessities. Easy check in process. Stayed there with another family from my daughters soccer team. Everything that you need and great value.

Quiet, relaxing, fun

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We enjoyed three days of quiet and family. The house was very clean and tidy. It's a vacation rental and the usual wear and tear are showing after a summer of visitors. I'm a linen snob and these linens were very nice quality. The soaps, shampoo and toiletries were also of good quality. It was comfortable and very easy. We ran out of propane for the grill, but a quick phone call to Vacasa got us connected with a local employee who quickly solved out grilling issues with a new bottle of propane. Hope we can return to enjoy a smoke-free stay next time (smoke from fires).

Aging house in a good location

Overall, the house was ok. It's an older house that is showing it's age. There is a window in the dining area with a large crack, the linoleum is bubbling up from wear, the carpets are stained, one of the handles to open the windows was broken. There is a satellite dish but it is not hooked up so your only option is to stream TV. The nice thing is that they provide a Roku device however the internet speed is too slow to support streaming video reliably. It was only capable of 3Mbps down and 0.2Mbps up. Streaming video was often a problem and even Spotify had issues at times. I looked and the area supports much faster speeds for only ~$10 extra a month so not sure why they don't provide that. That being said, the backyard is great. It has a large open space and my daughters loved swimming and playing on the dock. For the price, I think I'd probably try to find something else next time but would stay if there was no other options.

The location was outstanding

The location was outstanding with a beautiful view of the river. It was quiet, peaceful and great location for someone looking to get out of the rush of life. The house was not as great. There was dusty furniture, a broken window, broken latch to open the window, and low cold water pressure. The house just seemed to be old and never updated. They did have all of the essentials needed for a long vacation.

House needs a complete remodel - we were not satisfied.

My family spent 8 nights in early August 2018 at this Laclede, Idaho property. Overall, we would highly recommend staying in the Sandpoint area and taking day trips to see everything there is to see. We enjoyed our day trips. I would not recommend staying at this property (especially since the price was a lot more than it should have been for a property in this condition) until there are a number of major updates made to the property. Also, the 30 minute round trip to Sandpoint for restaurants got old. Laclede is lacking in this area. The property did have ample supplies (towels, paper products, trash bags, etc. - a little light on soaps and shampoos, however, so bring your own). The appliances all worked. The clothes washer looked relatively new, but was very loud and made unusual sounds during several cycles. The WiFi was out for about a half a day. We called the property manager about it, but were able to fix the problem ourselves before he called back about 2.5 hours after our call. There were six of us, two grandparents, two parents, and two twin eight-year-olds. They were very excited about the dock and easy access to the river. Their first venture to the river and jumping off the dock was a lot of fun until the neighbor’s dog started to jump on top of them off the dock, scratching my grandson’s back and pushing him under the water. I would recommend watching for the dog and discouraging him from joining you on the dock. He was not aggressive, just a little scary for the kids to swim with in the river. The carpeting in the house looked new and the linens for the beds were clean. There were only two pillows per bed, and I would have preferred extra pillows for my sleeping comfort. The bathrooms both need to be completely remodeled. We had bees in the house for our entire stay. There is no air conditioning which means in the summer you need to open the windows at night to try to cool down the house. That would be okay except that most of the windows are a real chore to open and close or have broken parts. The property is located about 200 yards from a huge working lumber mill which runs at all times of the day and night - not so much fun when you have to have the windows open. I have stayed in a number of VRBO properties and have never been this disappointed before. I originally wrote a much more detailed review, but was not able to include all of it due to the limit placed on the number of characters for each review.
