The Walkers Retreat es un alojamiento vacacional muy acogedor, limpio y tranquilo con un gran jardín para pasear y excelentes vistas para admirar. Hay estacionamiento seguro gratuito y el Walkers Retreat tiene su propia entrada privada.

The Walkers Retreat tiene una cocina totalmente equipada con microondas, placa eléctrica y horno. El salón tiene una cómoda silla reclinable y un sofá. Televisión de visión gratuita con revistas de reproductores de DVD y una variada gama de libros disponibles. El dormitorio tiene una cama super king size y armario. Un baño con lavabo pequeño está al lado de la habitación y el cuarto de baño está abajo. Hay una lavadora / secadora y plancha. Proporcionamos ropa de cama, toallas, albornoces, detergentes y geles de baño sin cargo.

Al llegar, proporcionamos leche fresca y huevos de nuestra granja lechera local en Scoriton. También habrá café, té y azúcar, etc. Hacemos todo lo posible para mantener las instalaciones de Walkers Retreat a un alto nivel. El área de la sala de estar / cocina se pintó recientemente en enero de 2017. Puede utilizar su propia terraza al aire libre y también tenemos varios bancos de madera en el jardín para que pueda usar y disfrutar de las vistas. Ubicado en el Parque Nacional Dartmoor, es posible comenzar a caminar desde la propiedad hasta el Moro o el Río Dart.

En el pueblo de Holne hay una tienda del pueblo bien surtida y un acogedor salón de té con mesas al aire libre, ambos abiertos todos los días de 11 a.m. a 5 p.m. También el Church House Inn ha reabierto y sirve desayunos, almuerzos y cenas. Todos están a dos minutos a pie de la propiedad. En el pueblo de Scoriton se encuentra el amable Tradesmans Arms y se encuentra a cinco minutos en coche. La ciudad más cercana es Ashburton, a 10 minutos en coche, y ofrece una excelente selección de tiendas de té, cafeterías, restaurantes y tiendas de alimentos.

Damos la bienvenida a los perros en el Walkers Retreat (máx. 2 perros). Un perro será gratuito y para dos perros cobramos £ 10 por estadía. Si necesita una cuna, háganoslo saber. La tarifa por la cama de cuna será de £ 20 por estancia.

Lovely presented apartment

This property was all you could ask for in cleanliness and presentation. The host was friendly and helpful.The only downside for us was that in the details online stairs and steepness were not mentioned. The garden was beautiful but the two of us have mobility issues and we found that and the stairs to shower room difficult. So maybe update details to include a mention of this. Otherwise the place and hosts were wonderful.

Samantha was a perfect host the Accommodation was so clean and well equipped she had thought of everything you possibly could need on our stay . Set in a beautiful peaceful location and look forward to visiting again in the future. I would recommend staying here to anyone.

A very restful stay

We very much enjoyed staying at Walker's retreat. We booked it last minute and so were not expecting the level of quality we received. We even decided to stay an extra night, and Samantha and Alex were very accommodating and quick to respond. The place was peaceful and though small, did not feel as such as it was fully equipped with all you could need. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and a lovely downstairs shower was also appreciated. Lots of extra little touches that made the stay feel special. Would definitely recommend.

Quiet, beautiful getaway

We had a lovely stay at this charming property. Set in a delightful location with views across the hills, it was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. The bed was super soft and comfy! Thank you to Samantha and Alex for being superb hosts.

10 Days in Walkers Retreat

This holiday home is ideal for a quiet stay, unfortunately the weather was a little less in our 10 days. In the beautiful garden you can relax in good weather with a beautiful view. In the morning you really have to make an effort to get up because the bed is wonderful. From the cottage you can go in all directions to see and do everything. Dartmoor Break

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Walkers Retreat. The property is very comfortable and well kitted out. It is also in a beautiful location with great views and pubs, shops and tea rooms close by. I particularly liked the fact that there was a range of different walks on the doorstep which meant that didn’t have to drive anywhere.

Ideal

The Walkers Retreat is a compact but entirely adequate base camp from which to explore the delightful area around Holne. Access to the moor is quick and easy and Ashburton is only a short drive away. The retreat provides facilities for cooking and an astonishingly comfortable bed, so walkers can be assured of ample sleep and nourishment to fuel their adventures. Sam the owner was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Lovely location / warm & friendly

We arrived at the Walkers Retreat without problems due to clear direction. The check in was easy due to clear direction. The property was everything we needed & we settled in at once. Wonderful situation to explore Dartmoor. All in all, our stay was thoroughly enjoyable. We used the information leaflets & maps for the area. Samantha gave us a very informative welcome - but still abiding by distancing regulations. 10/10 - we will be back !! Ian, Lisa & Doris the dog. X

Peaceful Retreat

Set in beautiful Devon countryside this property provides a good base to explore Dartmoor. The pretty village of Holne, which is a short five-minute walk away has a friendly community shop and interesting pubs. There are walks galore, as short or long as you want to make them.

Lovely apartment in the middle of Dartmoor.

Ideal base to explore Dartmoor and the surrounding area, although the narrow roads are a bit challenging. Lovely apartment, very quiet and private.

Breathtaking Views from a Comfortable Apartment

From the moment we arrived at the property there was such a peace from being in that place. We stood in the garden and beheld the views, which are just stunning. The apartment is spotless and very comfortable -- just has everything you need to stay for a few days. It is so quiet that you can hear every type of bird singing. We wished that we could have stayed two more days there, at least. Samantha is a lovely host. We found the people we met in the small village of Holne to be very friendly. Walkers Retreat is a perfect base for anyone who travels to Dartmoor National Park.

Holne hide away

Very comfortable and cozy cottage. Nicely appointed and very clean. The views of the countryside were breathtaking. The tiny hillside village of Holne was a charming and tranquil place to unwind in.

We moved to Ashton Court in August 2014 with our two daughters and feel very much at home in our house and in the Holne village. Our daughters love to play in the garden and bicycle over the quiet small lanes. Samantha is Dutch, and lives in England for over ten years. Alex was raised in London and both we enjoy very much the country live in Devon. From our home and garden we enjoy the Moor views every day in all kinds of weather and enjoy family walks over the Moor and having lunch in one of the cosy Moor pubs/ restaurants. We very much like being part of the Holne village and it gives us a real community feeling. Our daughters love to play in the playpark down the lane or cycle to the village shop to get some groceries. Also kite flying in the summer is a great event.

We very much welcome dogs at the Walkers Retreat. One dog will be free of charge and for more dogs we charge £10 per stay.

We are happy to provide information over the area and will do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you have any questions.

We totally fell in love with the wonderful view over the valley and the moor. We are on the edge of the village Holne which makes the garden and surroundings very tranquil but we are still part of a lovely village and the community shop, tearoom, and Church House Inn pub or Tradesmans Arms pub are close by.
