I do not like leaving bad reviews, but I also would feel guilty not warning others, so I need to write this.Let me first say that we love Ocean Plaza and have stayed here 4 times (three times at this unit, once at a different unit). The condo is great - clean, quiet and well furnished, and the location is awesome. The issue that we had was with the front gate. In the 3 previous stays, both hosts have set up the gate so that you enter the unit#, the system calls your phone, you press 9, and the gate opens. On this stay, the system was set to call the host's phone, and we were reliant on him answering his phone and pressing 9 for us. We had issues TWICE - once at check-in (his phone was on 'Silent'), and another time during our stay (he said his phone was dead). We always used the gate during normal hours (10AM-9PM). The first instance was not an issue - we just went to dinner with all our bags loaded in the car. The second time we had to call his wife, and arrange to call a neighbor, who pushed 9 on their phone to let us in. We were stuck for 30 minutes through all of this. There are 3 ways to get through the gate - the phone call method, a 4-digit gate code, or a scannable pass/tag that opens the gate automatically (but I understand the concern of this accidentally being left in a rental car). We will stay at Ocean Plaza again, but if the host cannot set up the gate to call our personal phone, or allow a 4-digit gate code, we will choose a different unit to stay in.
