Charlton House es una casa unifamiliar situada en un privado y escondido ubicación en el borde de la muy buscada y pintoresco pueblo de Bonchurch, adyacente al estilo victoriano muy popular de Ventnor. El estanque del pueblo y playas idílicas se encuentran a poca distancia a pie como es el pintoresco histórico Bonchurch Inn, una auténtica joya de un pub y restaurante que está llena de historia y escondido con su patio privado. El popular bahía de Ventnor está a poca distancia con su bonita playa y el paseo marítimo se accede a través de la cascada reduciendo a la misma. Aquí encontrarás algunos de los mejores bares y restaurantes que la isla tiene para ofrecer. Charlton tiene un jardín privado y cerrado seguro y nivel, con un bar y ducha / cuarto húmedo separado. Hay un montón de terraza para tomar el sol y comer al aire libre también. Frente a la casa es el pie de San Bonifacio Downs donde se puede explorar y caminar por millas y millas, es una caminata empinada pero las vistas y el paisaje en la cima son espectaculares.

El dormitorio principal 1 en suite con un baño con ducha y puertas corredizas que te llevaba a un gran balcón. Cuenta con una cama de matrimonio y TV Sky.
Dormitorio 2 se compone de dos literas (4 personas) y el cielo además de TV WC y lavabo.
3 dormitorio consta de una cama de matrimonio y TV Sky.
4 dormitorio consta de dos camas individuales.

Brilliant stay

We loved the space the seven of us had in the seaside home - even had room for my morning yoga. Great location for getting into Ventnor on foot and Bonchurch beach was easily walkable. Only downside was the road leading to Shanklin, but that was also handy for our day trips.

Spacious house, well equipped

Very attractive property with lots of room and best of all, one bedroom in which the 3 boys under 8 could all share. Well equipped, lots of stuff you don't need, but nice to know it's available. Huge fridge and freezer. Nice dining area in the conservatory which we used all the time. Some minor niggles, and let's face it, there are always some! Curtains/blinds let the light in very early, making it harder to sleep a bit longer. There was a lot of dust not cleaned as well as dog hairs , and the garden smelled very badly of urine after the rain. The en suite shower does leak (uneven floor) so an extra towel for the floor is useful. Found Ventnor to be a little less attractive than expected, and probably wouldn't stay there again. Neighbours in the annexe were very noisy for 2 nights of our 5 night stay. Excellent communications from the owner, cannot complain there at all and kindly sent our left behind keys without delay, so thank you!

Not up to expectations

Check in was fine, disappointed when we walked in and the house smelt of dog! Shower, etc not clean with orange body fats 🤢! The annexe is actually being lived in and it felt like we were sharing the house with strangers! I did speak to the owner who was lovely but we cut our stay short and left a day early

Lovely house and great location

Easy to organise and lovely accommodation. Nice location and very handy for the beach and Ventnor. Great quick responses from the Manager from any questions we had. We had a lovely stay thank you.

Spacious home close to beach

Great location. Only stayed two nights. Large stove: made a great cooked breakfast, plenty of fridge and freezer space, plenty of cooking pots and pans. dining is in conservatory (seats 10)- not heated so may be cool in evenings and in winter. Wonderful large teddy bears in various locations give a welcoming feel. Bedrooms ideally suit 4 adults and up to 6 children. We had 6 adults so two drew the short straw and slept in a twin children's room (uneven beds: one not very comfortable)

Overall view from all the family of 9

It was lovely and spacious and a nice location. Lovely big, well equipped kitchen although we really missed a cafetière. We all found the beds a bit uncomfortable too, but overall we really liked it.

Very comfortable house

Beautifully decorated, very comfortable house. Separate living room and conservatory so lots of space to spread out. Shortish drive to lovely beaches at Shanklin and Sandown, and everything on the island can be reached by car within 30 minutes so it's a perfect location for a family holiday. Highly recommended!

Lovely house, very well equiped.

We booked this house for 11 people (5 of which are children) owner had no issues with the number of children, which was great . All the party loved the house from my 3 year old right upto my 65 year old mother. The house is in a lovely location, brilliant as a base point or fab for just chilling at. 1st class place A*.

Fantastic stay!

Had a great holiday at Charlton House in March …. House was beautiful, location perfect and provided for our every need as we attended a family wedding on the Island. We are hoping to book another holiday there for next year. Thanks Steve for all the recommendations and advice of places to visit and eat in the area.

Charlton House, Ventnor

Large house situated in a good position. The house has good appointments in regards bedding, seating and kitchen utilities. However, the armchairs are uncomfortable and one recliner broken. The property needs in TLC, with the flooring in the en-suite to main bedroom cracked, wallpaper coming away behind the bed in that bedroom and the King-size mattress badly spoiled. Also the curtains torn to the bottom. The frames to many of the windows are caked with spider-webs and general dirt and do not seem to have been cleaned for a time. The window glass also need a clean. When booking the holiday there was advertised a hot tub in the garden, this tipped the balance in our decision. There is a bar and wet room to facilitate this tub but we were very disappointed to find that the hot tub had been removed. We were not told this prior to the holiday and Steve, the resident caretaker, who is cheerful and helpful, just said 'yes, it will have to be taken off the internet'. This statement did not help us and, together with the tired state of the house (which definitely needs ceiling fans installed) the £2,000 hire for the week was overpriced.

We are a group of 9 adults and we had a wonderful time at this cottage. The cottage is ideally located to all the amenities and major attractions in Ventnor. The cottage was clean and well maintained. Steve(host) was always available our the phone/email and checked with us to make sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this cottage if you are visiting Isle of Wight.
