Everything started off really well, we were really happy to stay in a place that provided so much like laundry detergent, dishwashing pods, coffee, a few toiletries…we talked about how we would even stay here again. But then there was total radio silence from the property management on 3 different occasions that I reached out. They emailed me after the first night and I responded the same day within business hours about the pile of damp, foul smelling clothes from previous guests found in the dryer. I never heard back and then it became the weekend. I reached out again Tuesday morning and Tuesday afternoon regarding what to do with the clothes, and to get an answer about conflicting information they provided in two different binders they leave for their guests. Again, no response. The unit itself was mostly fine. The beds were comfortable and there was a good amount of pillows. There were plenty of towels for use for showering and at the pool. More food storage containers would be helpful, there were 3 very small ones for a full kitchen. The dumpster had maggots. The shower curtain liner was mildewed and needs to be replaced. That was annoying since we pay a cleaning fee on top of other service fees the property management company charges. The property management company makes it a point to say that a member of the team checks every unit after the cleaning crew is done, but I’d say that’s obviously not true if there were wet clothes in the dryer and a dirty shower curtain.

Our favorite vacation rental by far!

We loved our stay at the barracks. The building is beautiful and the location is peaceful but within walking distance of the beach, activities, and restaurants. The interior was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. We had everything we needed. We absolutely would stay here again. Highly recommended!

Just what we needed

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at the Barracks on Tybee Island. We wanted a more relaxed and less chaotic vacation spot, and this was lovely. The property was so well appointed with everything that we needed. The walk to the beach was easy, and the porch with rockers overlooking the park was peaceful. We usually vacation in new spots every year, but we have already talked about returning to this rental. Tybee Island is a gem and so is this condo.

Beautiful Place

My family loved this place. The location was great with a short, flat, east 1/2 mile walk to the beach. The park that was located in the front yard was perfect (walking track, disc golf, baseball field, basketball and pickleball courts, and a playground). The condo itself was super clean, everything we needed was in the kitchen (other than food, lol). Beds were super comfortable and the sound machines in the bedroom were an added plus! The pool was great as well, even if there was several people in it. Quiet location. It was everything we had wanted it to be!

Uniquely Amazing

The rental process was great. The property was clean and exactly as advertised. Communication with the property management company was simple. Easy walk to the beach. The only thing that would make the property better would be a couple beach chairs in the closet. Thank you!

Great location

Loved having the park right our our front door, heated pool, and easy walk to the beach access. The building is beautiful and historical. The renovations are nice and you don't feel like you're in a century-old building. Only downsides were no curtains on the first floor windows (which face the parking area and the porch walkway accessed by the entire building) meant reduced privacy and lots of headlights at night. (There are blinds.) Upstairs neighbors made sleeping difficult with lots of late night noise (past midnight) and smoking. If we rent again, we'd try to aim for the off-season.

Great condo near the beach

We loved this condo! Clean and as advertised. A very short walk to the beach and several restaurants nearby. The pool was nice and the area was quiet. I would definitely stay again!

Our favorite place on Tybee

This was our second stay at The Barracks and we loved it just as much as the first time. Unit #2 was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed to enjoy our vacation. The pool is wonderful and the property is very nicely maintained. There were many other guests staying at the property in the other units, but it was never noisy and the pool was never crowded. This is truly one of the nicest places to stay on Tybee. Highly recommend!

Love The Barracks

We went down as an adult family. We absolutely loved the Barracks. Clean, efficient and above all on the North side of Tybee. Walked to the beach. Enjoyed the pool. Met some great people. I would love to go back, to the Barracks. The location is absolutely the best. If you are on a family vacation, I would recommend highly. Hoping to go back again.

Excellent!

This is a beautiful unit! Everything is nicely done and new. The kitchen is wonderful and is adequate in terms of how it is stocked (dish ware, and the like), however it lacks certain things like wine glasses/stoppers. But, otherwise great! It is very clean and very convenient to North Beach and some dining and shopping. The pool is AMAZING!! Apparently some of the previous tenants called the mgt company to have the heat turned on in the pool and even in mid 70’s weather it was lovely. Beware, in the 2 bedroom unit we stayed in, there is only 1 bathroom and it is small. It’s nice, but very small. It would be a little tough sharing it with 3 other adults. But for my husband and I, it was fine. We really enjoyed our stay - if you are on the first floor, just know that the noise from above (feet stomping) is just what you get when you have a unit above you. It didn’t bother us as we’re used to grandchildren feet running around! 5 star!

Loved this spot. Close to beach, quiet. Perfect location and soft beds! There were a couple maintenance items like very slow draining drains with clogs and washing machine leak that made the very small bathroom even less pleasant. Other than that, would have been a perfect experience for our family.

Great place

Perfect for a quiet get away. A few minutes walk to the beach. Very clean. We had initial trouble getting in with the combination lock, but the manager responded within minutes to a phone message and got us in remotely. No problems after that. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking. The beds were comfortable. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere (and the smart TV the day it rained!) We will return on another trip.

the Barracks

The accommodations were great. We did have an incident where we came back from a visit to town and the door to the outside porch was open. Someone was able to access the unit through this door. Nothing was missing. I called the managers and they never got back with us.
