Cute house in a quiet and convenient neighborhood

Great house with extra little touches to help welcome us after a long journey. They had some drinks in the fridge and snacks in the kitchen. The soap and shampoo in the bathrooms is nice that you don’t have to bring your own. The spaces are nice for socializing including an outside table. The attic room is cool and quirky, but be warned you’ll have to duck if you’re 6 foot or over. Plus, we had daily visits from the neighborhood deer who enjoyed the apple tree. Overall, great place with a relaxed vibe. Would stay here again.

nightmare very upsetting

1 Start - Completely Unacceptable Experience During a Difficult TimeWe rented this property as a home base while attending a family funeral, expecting it to accommodate three families, including young children. We requested an early check-in and were told we’d receive a text when the home was ready, that text never came. When we arrived, the house was still dirty and clearly had not been cleaned after the last guests. We tried for over an hour to reach the owner via text, phone, and the VRBO app with no response. Only after escalating the issue to VRBO did we finally hear back, and even then, the owner told us it would be “difficult” to find a cleaner at that hour and unbelievably asked if someone in our party was “up to” changing the dirty sheets.After further pressing for a resolution, a cleaner was finally arranged, but they wouldn’t be finished until 10pm, completely unreasonable with children in tow. On top of all this, the property itself was disappointing: though it claimed to sleep 13 and be spacious, most of the bedrooms were crammed into the attic or basement with inadequate air conditioning.Ultimately, VRBO had to step in and relocate our group to a hotel. The lack of responsiveness and basic preparation from the host was appalling. This property caused additional stress during an already emotional time — we would not recommend it under any circumstances.

Great stay

We stayed here with family and friends for a birthday weekend. It was comfy for us all. It's an older house so we could hear the kids crying through the walls but we expected that to happen. The kitchen and bathrooms are remodeled and clean. The backyard is huge and neighborhood was very quiet.

Our tennis team needed a comfy quiet house for our competition weekend. We were able to book both the studio and the house giving us additional bedrooms. We had a very comfy stay, the house was just right. Quiet with comfy beds, very close to groceries and other restaurants when we weren’t cooking ourselves. We would definitely stay here again.

Family Reunion and Retreat

Peaceful location on a quiet street, idyllic back yard for morning coffee and evening cocktails. Loft offers a great place for kids and teens to have their own space. Had a great time reconnecting with extended family. Kitchen and common areas were ample and comfortable, plenty of counter space. Some issues with check-in when we first arrived were resolved and we enjoyed our stay. Would recommend this location and stay again!

Clean and quiet rental for families

We stayed at Bamboo Grove for 3 nights. There were 6 of us who were attending the US rowing Regatta in Lowell, OR. We all wanted our own space which would have worked out well except the living room sleeping sofa was broken. We notified the host on day 1 (sent photo and messaged in app and texted) that the frame of the sleeper sofa in the living room was broken but never heard back from the host during our stay to address the problem. The host had good communication prior to the stay. The house was otherwise clean and the kitchen/bathrooms were well stocked. We enjoyed having meals at the house. There was a guest staying at the garage studio during our stay but it was still fairly quiet. We likely will find another option for our annual regatta.

Great house close enough to fairgrounds

We were exhibiting at the fairgrounds for the Oregon Logging Conference. No complaints. Appreciated there being coffee and tea in the cabinet and plastic wrap and aluminum foil and other kitchen essentials. There was no sponge - that I could find at least - that was a bit of a frustration, but hardly worth complaining about. The seating area is small for the number of people that the house can hold, but again - we survived just fine. Made a good excuse to go to bed early. Quiet time was over 9am which we totally had to break just because we had to leave early, but also start the washer before we go as part of check out. Excellent and very safe neighborhood so we didn't worry about parking on the street. Thank you for having us, will probably be back.

Amazing Stay

This property had everything we needed! I went with a group of 12 people and we were all accommodated comfortably. The host was very gracious and a timely communicator. Went up for a Ducks game, short drive (5-8 minutes) to downtown and campus. Grocery store nearby for everything we needed, restaurants, and Spencer’s butte park for great hiking. 10/10 stay, highly recommend for large groups!

Quiet and comfortable

Friends and I were there for a football weekend Memorial for a good friend of ours who was a 36 year season ticket holder to Oregon Duck football, but passed away late last year after the season was over. The house is on a quiet street in the south Hills just 15 minutes from the stadium. Comfortable and unique set up where most of the bedrooms are set a bit apart from the others for some extra peace and quiet. Also a quiet backyard and plenty of on street parking for multiple groups. This place will be on our list when we return sometime next year!

Fantastic Experience

This home is perfect for a large gathering of people. There were plenty of beds and private spaces as well as a nice open communal space. Everything was immaculately clean, including but not limited to the bathrooms, showers, bed sheets and kitchen. Check in was extremely smooth and the hosts provide very thorough and clear instructions. If we are ever in the Eugene area, we will certainly stay here again. 5 stars!

Quiet and comfortable

Place was clean and organized. Well described. Quiet neighborhood away from the hustle of a college town. Hosts were great and responsive with very simple instructions for checkout and check in. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Lovely South Hills Location

Bamboo Grove is wonderful. Plenty of room for our family. Good separation of sleeping areas from communal area. Our little girls (age 5 and 9) loved the playroom in the loft area. I would book this house again.

Comfortable and Well-Appointed

We had a mini family reunion with our adult children during the Oregon Bach Festival. Bamboo Grove had plenty of bedrooms, a well-appointed kitchen, and a big table for family meals. We enjoyed the outdoor space. The A/C worked well during a terrible heat wave. There are games and a TV, and we used the washer and dryer several times. Super helpful host. Highly recommended.

This was a perfect location for our family. Close to Cascade Manor where we have elderly parents. It was very easy to check in. And we walked most everywhere, to coffee and restaurants.

Good space for large group

Good option for a large group with lots of sleep options. Was stocked well with supplies. If you use the loft know that you can't lock door at night as those guests can't get in. adding another keyless entry door at back should solve that. Lots of cobwebs inside house and outside all over the front and back porch so no surprise we had spiders. Host was responsive when I reached out so hope it's addressed for next person. While I knew it was possible another person might be using the studio when it actually happened it was a little odd and with shared washing machine wasn't able to use before check out for towels as requested.

Nice location and excellent set up!

The house is located in a very quiet neighborhood, and is close to downtown. Supermarket is nearby and there are plenty of restaurants. The furniture is well set up and the kitchen is well equipped. We played board games that are available to guests. Definitely will come back again!

Nice to meet you! I’m Tobin. I’m a NW Native, born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I lived in Eugene for many years, but moved back to Portland a while back. I enjoy hiking, skiing, mountain biking, glass blowing, dancing, good food, good wine, good puns, and going on adventures with my twin mini huskies. Yes, that skiing photo is a real (and recent!) photo. I recently purchased all original 80s ski equipment and had a fun run on Mt Hood.
