We loved the condo and property. The Lazy River was great! I loved it was just a few steps out the door. Master bed was very comfortable. Condo came with everything you need including dishes, utensils, dish soap, cart for beach with chairs and toys. Entry to condo was easy. Covered parking was great. Condo was very clean. We only had one minor disappointment and that was that we did not have access to the gym. But I would still definitely stay here again!!!

Perfect Condo

The condo was perfect for kids . Straight to the lazy River!! The condo owner was very responsive if we had any questions. Would we stay again!! Yes!!!! Everything was supplied to use, beach chairs, sand toys, even a wagan for the beach!

Beautiful first floor condo on the lazy river

We have stayed in several condos at Destin West, both bayside and oceanside. This was one of our favorite units! The first floor makes for easy access to the pools and lazy river. The owner was easy to communicate with and responded quickly. The condo was clean and well maintained. Highly recommend.

A little piece of paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This condo is perfect for a small group. It is beautiful and clean. We enjoy the lazy river being just steps from the patio and the beach just a short walk away. There are several restaurants within walking distance or just a short drive. Extremely nice place to stay!

Best Destin West Unit Ever

My wife and I recently stayed in this unit and it was PERFECT!! Very clean, most convenient and literally 1 second from back door to lazy river. The owner Ms. Susie kept in touch with us making sure everything was tip top for our enjoyment. I will 100% rent this unit next time I stay at Destin West. Thank You Ms. Susie so much. ☺️☺️☺️

We were very impressed with the cleanliness of the condo. Everything was as expected from the listing and the owner was prompt and easy to work with. This was one of the best vacation rentals we have stayed in!! We would definitely stay again!!

Fall break

We enjoyed our stay! The place itself was as described! The lazy river is steps away but it is not heated so it was cold and the waterfall only runs in the summer. With that being said the kids had a blast! We would stay here again.

This is the place to stay!! Very relaxing!

This condo is so perfect to stay in to enjoy the lazy river. The first floor access allows you to go in and out of the lazy river easily. It is also so easy to load and unload your car from the parking garage. There is plenty of parking and we found a parking spot in the garage every time. The bay was beautiful and you can walk to Adventure Island and the teenagers walked to the Boardwalk from the ocean multiple times. It is a maze to get to the beach but it didn’t take long at all plus the furnished wagon made it simple. The grill is brand new and the refrigerator was big, plus the giant thick bath towels were a bonus! Just remember to always wear your wristband, even to the beach since it is a private beach!

Great location

This is our second time staying at this resort and our first time staying at this particular property. The unit was just like the pictures as expected. It was very clean and had everything we needed. A brand new refrigerator has been delivered before we had arrived and a stove was delivered while we were there so that was nice. The owner was very nice to work with and very accommodating. The bunk room has no storage but we knew that so we brought an over the door shoe rack to use and also has moved the shelving unit in from the kitchen so that the kids had a place to put their clothes. I will say that the carpet is older and the shower in the second bathroom needs to be recaulked. However, that would not prevent me from staying there again. We love the lazy river and spent most of our time there. I do hate that the pools on the bay side close at 10 while the gulf side pools stay open longer. I don’t understand why that is but that’s my main complaint with the resort itself. I love staying on the lanai level but you are no longer able to jump right into the lazy river from there. They are currently in the process of blocking it off. However, it’s nice to have a grill and to not have to use the elevators to get to the pool. Overall, this us a great place to stay!

Nice, but needs lots of updates/maintenance...

Positives up front... This is a pretty, nicely decorated unit that is very close to the entrance of the pool area. The owner makes sure you have extra garbage bags, toilet paper, paper towels, etc. There is also a cabinet full of spices for use, which is nice. However, FYI, and for us to stay again, the following would have to be remedied: *towels/ blankets are all soured. Owner requires you to wash them on a 20 minute quick cycle before checking out, so they don't get a full cycle, and smell as such. We washed every towel and blanket after the first night. * toilets are old (one leaks and clogs up every time you use it) * grill won't light and is filthy *fridge isn't connected to a water line, so you have to bring your own ice, and... * freezer won't keep ice or ice cream frozen (and we never overloaded it; it just wouldn't freeze) * vacuum cleaners brushes don't spin, so they don't pick up trash adequately *very small TV in living room that is not a Smart TV and there is no Roku or DVD player (cable is very basic) * patio and BBQ area are very dirty and haven't been pressured washed in some time Also, about the listing: * The lanai is not worth the extra money. You still have to access the pool the same way everyone else does, so it's really of no extra benefit. *There is only one patio area to sit, and it's no bigger than any other room's. The lower patio is where the grill is (that doesn't work), and there's nowhere to sit down there.

A Great Vaca

We had a great time! We loved the lazy river. Everything was as it appeared in the picture. Suzie is a gracious host. If you’re considering staying here you will not be disappointed.

Amazing

We really enjoyed our stay here. Clean and fully stocked with everything you need to cook. Beds were very comfortable which is a rare find. Loved how you could walk out the gate into the lazy river. The kids thoroughly enjoyed the condo as well. Lastly the communication with the owner Susie was amazing. She responded quickly to any of our questions and check in and check out process was a breeze. Definitely will be returning!

We wanted to buy a vacation property that would not only be a good investment, but also be in a destination that we love. We couldn't have chosen a better location. I've traveled extensively in this world and the beaches of Emerald Coast are perhaps the best I've found. We love that there is so much to do in Destin and Fort Walton Beach! There are endless activities for the whole family and just as much opportunity to relax and enjoy the fantastic weather. It gets a bit chilly for a couple of months in the winter, but coming from a cold, northern climate its nice and temperate.

We had to find a place that we liked in a very short, 3 day trip. I bet we looked at 20 properties. We picked our unit at Destin West for several reasons: You can't beat the location, it's close to FWB and Destin. We found good amenities at other locations, but didn't like the unit and good condos but lacked the amenities that we were looking for. Destin West really has everything we were looking for; a great unit and a fantastic property with all of the amenities to please most everyone.

The lanai units at Destin West on the bay side are highly sought-after rentals. It's so convenient to the pool and lazy river. Quick and easy access without having to go out the front door, down the hall, down the elevator, and carrying all of your things along with you. Families especially love the lanai units because they can watch their kids right from the lanai table!
