The overhead shot of the villa makes it seem a little bigger than it is, but it was still very comfortable and very charming. It’s within an easy walk to town, and there are lovely beaches very close. The gardens are amazing and fun to walk around in. Everything from the cleaning staff to our check-in was nice and easy. It’s a wonderful spot to enjoy southern Portugal.

Great location, easy walk to shops & bars. Villa was lovely, pool was good, air conn a blessing as it was lovely & sunny.The villa had all the appliances needed but to be honest we ate out each day & had some lovely food.All in all a great holiday & we will go back!Ps. The big prawns at Vimar (nearest restaurant) were excellent, and breakfast at Earth cafe also great

The location was absolutely wonderful and the villa was beautiful. The only complaint is that when we first arrived, the villa was closed and so it was very moldy. They could have made more effort in keeping it clean and having nicer linens.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you found the villa closed and smelling of mold in such an extremely dry environment. It's hard for me to understand; it was only closed for one day after the previous guests left—who found the villa in excellent condition, both cleanly and pleasantly -. As for the sheets, they are all 100% cotton and are changed regularly.

Thank you for another wonderful stay. The boys loved coming back, and adored Monkey and Cheetah, as their new Carvoeiro companions. The garden remains a bliss, and the new kitchen is indeed a great one - it’s wonderful to have the practical use of a modern kitchen but have it filled with lovely printed cups and plates. The new ‘old’ gate works a lot better. Thanks again and we will certainly revisit!!

Lovely villa and great location

The pool and gardens were amazing and so lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed using the BBQ and relaxing in the hammocks. Good location, quiet but not far from restaurants and the main beach.

Spacious well equipped good location far enough away so you get some peace and quiet but close enough to walk to loads of great places. The gardens are lovely and give the feeling that you are more remote than you actually are! Thank you Alex, Claudio and Hilda for making this special holiday for us. Superb villa in great location

Beautiful villa in.lovely grounds within walking distance of Carvieiro. Alex the owner answered all my questions promptly and Claudio met us at the property and checked us in very efficiently. Wouldn't hesitate to return.

The magic garden house

Casa Hibiscus is an exceptional property in a beautiful corner of the world. Surrounded by flowers, palms, eucalyptus, olives, cacti, the charming Portuguese home is a ten-minute walk from an ideal beach. We loved the barbecue, pool, and ocean view too!

The villa is near Carvoeiro close to beautiful cliffs and views. Many restaurants and beaches. Lots of great walks. The villa has many personal touches. Like staying in someones home. The owner was great. Very responsive. I highly recommend Villa Hibiscus

A fantastic villa and a wonderful stay

We had an amazing time at the Casa Hibiscus. Alex's communication beforehand was amazing, and meeting Claudio for check in was easy and a great way to learn about the villa. The villa itself is perfect - great for kids with perfect facilities for cooking, cleaning and relaxing. The pool was immaculate, and the lady who came in to clean was lovely and put up with us around her! Can't thank you enough for a wonderful stay.

Great!

Loved staying at Villa Hibiscus, this is the fifth villa we've stayed at in Carvoiero and is our favourite due to the more traditional style and layout coupled with the fantastic garden. The location is very quiet and within easy walking distance of beaches and the town. Aleix, Claudio and Ilda couldn't have been more helpful and we thoroughly enjoyed our week at the house. We look forward to visiting again soon!

A great Villa, backed up by a helpful and friendly team

The property is delightful and perfect for our needs. Plenty of outdoor space to sunbath, eat and drink. The kitchen was fully equipped, and all bedrooms and bathrooms well maintained. Fantastic to sit on the roof terrace and have a late-night port looking out to sea. The walk into town was fine where there are plenty of bars and restaurants. The team were so helpful.

Great Villa, well located, lovely pool

Lovely villa, very spacious, well located, kitchen is well equipped but outdated units, which didn't worry us as we expected the Villa to be a traditional one, which it was. Very quaint generally, the only down side was the very small dishwasher, which would be detrimental if you had big family meals in the Villa. We ate out mostly and it was fine for breakfast bits. Overall we had a great relaxing time here.

Family holiday

We tenter the property three years ago for my wife’s 65 th birthday Due to covid we had to cancel and the following year again due to my daughter’s pregnancy So we arrived at last with a 12 month granddaughter The property is in a lovely area of Carvoiero And the gardens surrounding the villa have some ponds and two hammocks when the sun gets too much The villa is rustic and not very suitable for an infant just starting to walk with a lot of steps leading to the pool and the terrace The villa would be ideal for adults with a lovely pool and patios We had two issues The gas stove and hob we could not get working on our first night Unfortunately the manager was 60 miles away-it was a Saturday night so this was not fixed till Monday Also the patio door in the living room would not lock so we had to close the steel shutters every night before going out They were extremely stiff and one of the hinges was broken making it very difficult to lock There was plenty of cutlery and dinner service And plenty of wardrobe and luggage space in all rooms In all a very nice holiday but suitable more for adults and older children I On

Peaceful villa

Family holiday at the beginning of September with 6 adults and a 7 month old baby. Villa is located on a quiet road and is well placed for restaurants and the beach as well as the centre of Carvoeiro. Car needed to visit large supermarkets, where prices are lower and more than the basics are stocked. The villa was very clean and the pool a good size. The exterior of the property is well looked after, with 3 different areas to sit in. Beautiful gardens, and the gardener visited 3 times in our week. Overall, we had a wonderful time. Lots of toys and a spongy playmat for small children. Lovely cot and highchair too. There were a couple of issues with the walk in shower and the patio doors but the property manager dealt with them immediately. Improvements could be made internally - we struggled with the gas oven so only used the hob and the BBQ, the mattresses are too soft and sink in the middle. More mugs would be useful, but the dishwasher is a small one so we were having to use after every meal. The water is heated by solar power, so there didn't appear to be hot water when we got up in the mornings. But there was plenty of hot water when showering before dinner. The furnishings/decor, dark wood mainly, added to the character and were certainly comfortable enough in the evenings. We didn't find the villa gloomy as some reviews suggested. Would definitely recommend to others, and would return in the future if the beds are replaced.

Casa cómoda, grande y bonita

La casa es exactamente igual que en las fotos, muy amplia y a solo 2 minutos de la playa y a 10 minutos del centro de Carvoeiro. La comunicación con Aleix ha sido estupenda desde el principio y hasta al final. Totalmente recomendable!

RELAXING HIBISCUS HOME

We have spent a wonderful week at Casa Hibiscus. Its location, on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Carvoeiro, makes it quiet and peaceful, and it is only in five minutes to excellent restaurants, bars, shops and supermarket. The maintenance and cleaning of the house, by the friendly and efficient manager Monica, is wonderful. Everything is very clean: shining dishes , towels and bathrobes are like new. The porch and pool area are the most relaxing thing that one could expect. Sitting or lying in their hammocks, all we watch around us are leafy plants, flowers and trees of a spectacular garden. The absolute silence of the area, which is only broken sometimes by the croaking of the frogs or the flight of some seagull, makes one feel as if were in heaven. We are looking forward to enjoy this marvelous place again. Totally recommended.

Rengjøring kunne vært bedre, men innenfor tålegrensen. Verten er hjelpsom og svarer raskt på meldinger. Bassenget er flittig brukt og er helt supert. Om kveldene har vi benyttet takterrassen, en koselig og sval plass om kvelden. Noe skjemmende med mus/rotter som kom løpende på muren om kveldene.

Schönes Haus in guter Lage

Das Haus ist ein nettes, etwas in die Jahre gekommenes Objekt mit einem wunderschönen Garten, schönem Swimmingpool und ausreichend Platz um sich wohl zu fühlen. Die Ausstattung war gut und auch an Kinder wurde gedacht. Schön ist auch, dass man eine Putzfee in Anspruch nehmen kann. Nur einige Kleinigkeiten, wie nicht richtig schließbare Läden und Fliegengitter, sehr lädierte Badewannen und abgeblätterte Tapeten, viel negativ auf. Ansonsten ist es sehr zu empfehlen und auch die Lage ist gut, da man nur ca 10Minuten bis zu den ersten Restaurants im Dorf braucht.

Carvoeiro no seu melhor

Ficar alguns dias nesta propriedade transmite-nos uma agradável sensação de tranquilidade e de privacidade, mas não de isolamento, pois estamos rodeados de outras propriedades semelhantes. Permite fazer o dia a dia a pé, devido à proximidade de Carvoeiro, de Vale de Centianes, etc.

Visitors from Vermont

We were very impressed with the level of mask wearing in Portugal, but be prepared for lack of clarity on what the airlines accept for COVID tests - we went to the airport a day prior to departure and that worked well. Out stay in Carvoeiro was great. Wonderful people, great food, beautiful beaches and we were lucky to have great weather. Overall the Villa was good and we enjoyed our stay. Some things to know: hot water is limited because it is thermal, so take your showers later in the day; be prepared to buy all the basics (sugar, condiments, coffee, etc..); there is one not two king size beds; and walking distance to town is 30-40 min, not 15.

Thank you for your opinion, but let me disagree. The three beds in the three bedrooms are exactly the same. The measurements are identical. 2 meters long x 1.90 meters wide. All three are the same. (It can be verified in the photographs) . As for the distance to the village, the normal is 10-15 minutes. You can calculate the distance perfectly in google maps. Apart from the comments of other guests who confirm it, a time of 15 minutes. I understand that walking is something very subjective, it depends on many factors, especially physical condition, Best regard.

Fijne vakantiewoning

Grote vakantiewoning, alles wat nodig is voor een prettig verblijf is aanwezig. Perfect schoon. Het zwembad is TOP. Carvoeiero is een leuke, kleinschalige plaats met goede restaurantjes. De kust is prachtig, mooie wandelingen gemaakt. Kortom: heerlijke vakantie! Wij komen zeker terug.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Vila Hibiscus esta localizada en un entorno natural muy tranquilo, rodeada de grandes arboles del jardin y naturaleza. Noches silenciosas donde se disfruta solamente del sonido del mar. Muy intima y confortable, toda la propiedad es planta baja, casa y jardin. Ideal para relajarse. Perfecta para personas mayores.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Vila Hibiscus es muy tranquila e intima, cercana a una preciosa cala no masificada.
El gran jardín es exuberante, con rincones y sorpresas, estanques con peces, flores de Loto, ranas y tortugas, pequeños ecosistemas que con el sonido del agua de las fuentes da al jardín un ambiente paradisíaco. Grandes arboles, olivos centenarios, palmeras, naranjos, almendros hacen un lugar sombreado y verde que se agradece por las altas temperaturas del verano. Diez minutos andando, un paseo muy agradable por la costa con unas maravillosas vistas al mar para llegar al centro de Carvoeiro, un encantador pueblo de pescadores, con muy buenos restaurantes, terrazas, bares, tiendas y todos los servicios de correos, farmacia, etc, etc. La casa construida fiel al estilo autóctono del Algarve, toda blanca con una gran terraza superior sobre la casa donde se disfruta de las mejores vistas al mar, al jardin y a todo el entorno.
