Hale Kona Kai is a small complex of 3 dozen absolute oceanfront condos in town but off the beaten path! Located on a quiet side street and just a short distance to the village of Kailua-Kona also known as Kona Town. Hale Kona Kai is only 1/4 block to Honl's white sand beach and 2 blocks to the Kona Farmers Market.

Hale Kona Kai offers a heated saltwater pool, elevator, and BBQ area. In-condo Wi-Fi, & cable TV.

All condos are non-smoking. Hale Kona Kai is a non-smoking facility. Each floor has coin-operated washers and dryers for your use. Each condo does not have its own washer/dryer.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this condo, the property management company is readily available and an agent n site.I appreciated the loaded kitchen utensils, the ice machine in freezer, the super comfortable living room furniture. What I looked forward the most was the view of ocean and waves. A beautiful pool setting by the ocean. We walked every day down the Main Street for shopping and food.I have already inquired for next years stay. Thank you

As others have written, this property has everything! From a well-outfitted and modern kitchen to beach supplies (including water shoes and snorkel equipment) to a plentiful supply of towels.The highlight is the lanai where you can see beautiful sunsets.The property has a lovely pool and we were the only ones using it! Although it is a salt water pool you don't taste the salt and it us more like a fresh water pool. The location is good and the covered parking a great bonus.Tania at reception was wonderful and very helpful.This is a place to come back to again!

Perfect Hawaiian getaway

We loved this property. It is so close to town and write on the beach where you can view. Beautiful Hawaiian sunsets from the lanai. The condo is equipped with everything y’all need to get started on your vacation. It has almost everything you need for the beach. Just checking in and enjoy.!

Comfortable and close to restaurants

Communication prior to arrival was excellent. Unit parking was convenient, easy to find. Unit was clean when we arrived. Nice one bedroom arrangement with lanai for enjoying views of water and sunset. Beach equipment included except snorkel mask and snorkel (there were some fins), but these were easily purchased for personal use. AC was out in condo, however mgmt offered portable AC ahead of our arrival. We found the unit very comfortable at night with windows open for breeze and didn't miss the AC! Laundry is not in unit - rather in common room on every floor. We did use pool, laundry, or BBQ.

Photos are Deceiving

I have never written a bad review and prefer not to say anything, but I had to write about this one. The second we walked in, we were overwhelmed with the smell of mildew, which then permeated everything we brought. The "view" was extremely limited and the way the furniture was set up, you couldn't see the ocean at all from the inside. A simple remedy would have been to reverse the location of the sofa, which was not comfortable, to the opposite side. Then you might be able to see a little bit of ocean, but you had to be on the deck and straining around the unit next door to really see anything. The comforter on the bed was not what was pictured and seemed to be extremely old. Lastly, the bedroom and bathroom doors are slatted, not even hollow core! Absolutely NO PRIVACY! For such a tiny unit, needing to use the bathroom could be embarrassing. If it means paying a little more, find another place.

Good stay

Place was very clean and the kitchen was well stocked for basic cooking. Very walkable. Great lanai with view of the ocean. Convenient to shopping and restaurants. Would stay again.

Relax and unwind

Wonderful location! Close to everything you could possibly need. It was nice having a kitchen that we could actually use the pots and pans! Sharp knives also. Beach chairs and turkish towels were a bonus!

Perfect launch pad for exploring Kona

We loved that this condo was on a quieter side street (just the sound of surf!) with an easy walk into Town. Worked out great.

Beautiful, Amazing, Affordable

Home away from home. This property was wonderful for our stay. Furnished with just about anything we could need. Having beach supplies (chairs, umbrella, pool noodles, snorkel gear, cooler, etc.) was awesome. This owners attention to detail is top notch. When we make a return trip, we will definitely check this condo availability first. Mahalo!!!

Lovely lagoon

We loved this apartment - clean, comfortable and a great view from the patio. The exterior looks a bit frayed, which gave me pause, but once inside, all was perfect. Also liked have a lagoon to hang out in. Good covered parking too.

Nice place, older building

The unit is very nice, the view is mainly of the neighboring hotel and a small lagoon. Not a bad view once they finish refurbishing the hotel next door. So close to town you can walk there. Make sure you ask the building manager if the air conditioning is up and running before you sign up to rent. .

Great get-away!

Great location with fabulous view of shoreline and harbor--right on the ocean! Apartment clean and well maintained, and onsite manager very helpful and responsive to minor issues--a great place to be.! Small downside for us-- luau noise from Royal Kona Resort irksome, as was rehabilitation work on their south building.
