`Cider Sweet` cottage is one of three vacation rentals on Five Apple Farm. This newly constructed cottage offers mountain chic comfort, in a family farm setting.
Snuggle up next to a coxy fireplace and enjoy quality time and home-cooked meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Adventure during the day to your heart’s content knowing that plenty of comfy beds and a full-size washer and dryer await your return. Cider Sweet sleeps six, including a master with king bed and full bathroom upstairs as well as loft with two twin beds, and a bedroom downstairs with two twin beds and a full bath.
Our serene mountain cove location at the base of Shortoff Mountain offers a peaceful getaway with apple trees, a lush pasture, and picturesque grounds to explore on our walking trail or just to take in while enjoying the glow of the fire pit. Tucked away just a short walk from area hiking trails and minutes from breathtaking views and local attractions in Highlands and Cashiers, Five Apple Farm offers the perfect mix of relaxation, quality time, fun and adventure.

Escape From Atlanta Heat

My husband and I brought my elderly mom here for the weekend to escape the August heat. The home was perfect for us as there is a bedroom and bathroom in the main floor for her. The cabin is beautiful and in a very peaceful setting yet only minutes from downtown Highlands. I would recommend arriving in daylight as it is a bit difficult to find. It was raining and dark when we got there so I was thankful the owners left a light on. We plan on coming back since it’s such an easy getaway for us!

Heavenly Highlands

This was our second time to stay at Cider Sweet in 5 Apple Farm! We love it and are grateful for finding it. The cottages are very well done. Tastefully designed and decorated, with gorgeous views and we love the communal fire pit! Our family has created some wonderful memories staying here. We highly recommend.

Wooded, convenient setting, cozy

We unfortunately had to cut our vacation short due, departing a couple of days earlier than planned, so we were not able to fully enjoy the cottage and wooded grounds. That said, the location and setting are very nice, and the cottage is cozy. Owner was available, communicative, and helpful. We encountered a snafu the first night of our stay, and owner made a good offer we accepted to resolve it.

The house is great and pictures are accurate. It’s the perfect location for hiking, fishing, visiting both Cashiers and Highlands. It’s 13 minutes to Highlands and 20 minutes to Cashiers.

Fabulous Getaway

We had a wonderful weekend at Five Apple F arm. The cabins are beautiful and nicely decorated. It is very clean and well looked after. It is a quiet escape from the city. The Highlands area is great for shopping, eating and outdoor experiences. This was our second visit and we look forward to returning to the Five Apple Farm

Best New Years Retreat!!!

Wow wow wow! This property is stunning!!! 1000/10 Recommend to everyone visiting the Carolinas. It's the perfect getaway from all the city living (we're from Miami, FL so it was needed to say the least!). One thing we truly appreciated was how secluded it felt into the mountain, the silence at night was a-little out of the norm for us but we loved it! Didn't see snow, but the weather was still cold and cozy. Highlands is such a beautiful town and this property really makes you get that local-living feeling. The home provides everything you need and more, it is so clean and we really enjoyed the decor and style of it all. The owners live onsite in a beautiful home, they are lovely! They have an amazing open clubhouse in front of the cottages, looks perfect for events. Overall, so relaxing and an exceptional experience! Thank you Five Apple Farms! - The Turs + 1 Cruz

Great getaway

My wife and I had a great stay here. The place was clean and well appointed. We loved spending time on the deck. We played some disc golf with some wild turkeys and some bocce ball. It was a great home base for our hiking and waterfall outings. It’s a short drive to Highlands and just a little further to Cashiers. Our hosts quickly responded to our few questions. The last half mile in is a gravel road but I had no trouble with it in a sedan.

Wonderful vacation homes

We rented 3 homes that faced each other, one for each of our children and one for us. There were a total of 8 of us, including a 5- year old and a seven year old. The children loved exploring. We enjoyed bocce, making s’mores in the fire pit, the absolute quiet and beautiful views. The homes were very comfortable and easy places in which to have a wonderful vacation.

A magical experience in the mountains

Our family of 5 had a wonderful time staying at 5 Apple Farm (Cider Sweet)! The property was very well styled and was perfectly cozy and very clean. The views were beautiful and we enjoyed renting a place that was on property so that our children could play outside and explore a bit. We enjoyed the fire pit one night and loved listening to the birds sing and secadas chirp while drinking coffee on the porch. I’m kind of a bedding snob, and usually bring my own sheets, but their sheets were nice as well as the comforters. The mattresses were average and they could use thicker curtains in the bedrooms so that the morning sun doesn’t wake you up, BUT our overall experience was GREAT! We absolutely loved our time in The Highlands and plan on returning. I highly recommend this property.

Cider Sweet is sweet!

Wonderful stay in the Highlands at this nearly brand new home. Perfect location about a 5-minute drive to downtown Highlands. My only critique is that the gravel road to the property is pretty rough and hopefully will be paved next time we return. If you arrive at night, follow the directions very carefully as it can be quite confusing once you transition from the paved to gravel road.

Beautiful setting! Awesome cabin!

Spent a wonderful weekend with friends in the mountains and this cabin was the perfect home base. Cozy, clean, well-stocked, beautiful decor, incredible outside seating area, beautiful setting. We were just a short drive from downtown Highlands, but the private property where this cabin is located is stunning and feels remote. I've already recommended this property to a dozen friends who inquired about our stay. Will definitely rent again. Would be a perfect setting for several families to gather in the 3 cabins surrounding the fire pit and common area. And the gorgeous barn on the property is a beautiful event space. Thanks for sharing your cabin with us!

A Sweet Retreat

We had a wonderful three days at this beautiful cabin. It was exceptionally clean and well decorated. It had nice touches that made it feel very cozy. We loved the big fireplace and the complimentary wood. A great place to for an escape!

Second Trip Here and Amazing

This was our second visit to the property and certainly won't be our last. Perfect location and in proximity to waterfalls, mountain hikes and main street. Gary and Angie are very responsive and are quick to fix any issues that arise. We will definitely be back soon!

Five Apple Farm is proud of our efforts to be eco-conscience and good stewards of the land. The white pine trees that were removed for the cottage construction on this beautiful property were milled here on site and used in many aspects of the construction process.
