NEW! Large Family Friendly Beach House in downtown Lewes ~ 5 min drive to beach!

Stay in the heart of Historic Lewes, on one of Lewes` quiet historic streets. You will be walking distance from the restaurants and bars in downtown Lewes and of course, a few mins drive or a gorgeous bike ride on the trail to the beach.

The home sleeps 10 people in 4 bedrooms. Parking for 2 cars and free additional public parking 2 min walk away. The house is in a quiet cul-de-sac, perfect for families.

The space
Newly furnished from top to toe, the sprawling space has 4 generous sized bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms and an outdoor shower. The sleeping arrangements are as follows;

~ Primary suite with own bathroom on the ground / 1st floor
~ King bedroom (2nd floor)
~ Queen bedroom (2nd floor)
~ 2 trundle beds that pull out into 4 twin beds (2nd floor)
~ I family bath (2nd floor)
~ 1 additional bathroom with shower (1st floor)

The kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining. Multiple families can be hosted at our large dining table that seats 10. The screened-in porch has an expandable table and additional seating for 6 to allow flexibility or a spot for the kids to eat together.

The front porch catches the evening sunset so is the perfect place for a sundowner! Watch folks cycle past on the Lewes-Georgetown trail that runs right alongside the house. You’ll love having morning coffee on the screened in porch at the back, and it`s perfect to enjoy drinks or eat out there at night.

There`s parking for 2 cars plus more free parking next door in the library parking lot.
Guests will have the entire beach house to themselves, it isn’t shared.

The house is great - clean, plenty of room, walking distance to town, spitting distance of the bike path. I'm not rating it 5 stars because there were a few issues. Foremost, the owners (who I think are not local) only leave one key and they tell you that in advance, but the reality is that people make mistakes and there should be a backup. We pulled the door shut one night, not realizing that the bottom lock was in the lock position, and the key was still in the house. I had 15 minutes of unnecessary panic trying to reach the owners and fortunately a very kindly neighbor was able to reach one of them. It turns out there WAS a backup hidden key that we hadn't been told about. I think they should either install a keypad entry system or tell guests about where a physical backup key is located (and they can charge guests a fee if they lose a key). A couple of other less significant issues: we were not able to control the thermostat on the main floor. the temp was comfortable but we would have liked it a degree or two colder (but i never asked the homeowners about it, so it wasn't a big deal and maybe they could have done something remotely had I asked). we were able to control the temp on the upper floor. also, we were told in advance that we wouldn't have garage access, so we had to wheel our bicycles up the steps into the house because we weren't comfortable leaving them outside. I would still recommend the property but wanted to provide honest feedback.

We Enjoyed our stay. The property was beautiful. The pictures do not do it justice. Lara was easy to reach. Everything was top notch! Very clean, well stocked and the neighbors were very nice. We will certainly consider staying there again.

We loved our stay here! Plenty of space and really nice modern comfortable decor and furniture. Well equipped kitchen and convenient laundry room. House was spotless. Loved being so close to the bike path and an easy walk to town. The front porch was heavenly and spent many hours in the evening enjoying the quiet.

3 Generations Visit

A lovely, clean, spacious house for 7 people! Lara made the check-in process easy, and reached out ahead of time and during our trip to see if we needed anything. We enjoyed walks through the neighborhood to get to downtown Lewes quickly, as well as being a short drive to the beach. We loved the openness of the living room with lots of natural light. All of the bedrooms were larger than they appear in the photos. The house was decorated beautifully, the kitchen well stocked, and we appreciated the simple labeling that made navigating light switches/drawers/etc. effortless.

Excellent Location

My family and I stayed here to celebrate my niece’s graduation from University of Delaware during Memorial Day weekend. The property was beautiful and accommodating for 9 people. There was 1 tv located throughout the entire house, which was perfect for us because we enjoyed conversations at the dinner table and around the fireplace. I have added this to my favorite for a future stay.

Great family vacation in Lewes

This is a wonderful and quiet location for a relaxing stay in Lewes. The house works well for grandparents, parents and kids, it is near the bike path, terrific Lewes library (great for non-beach playtime and activities for kids), and walking to the Station for coffee or breakfast/lunch and to the downtown restaurants. The house is very, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and Lara and Alex are great hosts, easy to deal with and very responsive. Great move for family time to have the TV upstairs!

Beautiful home in cute neighborhood

We enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. It worked well for a group with multiple ages - the parents stayed in the main floor master and the teens and 20 year olds had the upstairs which includes a tv lounge. There are multiple spots for guests to gather to eat, talk, play games, work on a puzzle. There is even a small office if anyone needs to get some work done. The house was spotless and the furnishings are updated and comfortable. We loved being able to rent bikes right across the street and rode them almost every day. The bike loop to Rehoboth and the state park is amazing. We also walked every day to restaurants and some in our group even walked to the beach. The drive to the beach is short and even when the lot there was full we were able to park across the street easily. We really appreciated the host providing beach chairs and towels. Lewes is lovely - quiet and charming - and busier towns are a short drive away when you want more excitement. It’s really the best of both worlds. Hosts were very responsive when we had a minor issue. Much appreciated.

Always a good day in Lewes.

Great home. Great Location. Nice and clean. Space for everyone. The only two things that we wished for were a garage that was accessible for our bikes and beach gear and we also would have loved a tv downstairs to keep it a central hangout place area for the teens and adults. Would stay again.

Family Weekend in Lewes

Our stay was just perfect in every way!!! Our reservation was somewhat last minute and Lara was so helpful. She answered all our questions and was incredibly communicative and helpful. Check in was a breeze and the house is BEAUTIFUL! Everything we needed and more. The beds were comfy, kitchen had ALL THE THINGS you could need, and there were even games and toys for the kiddos. We cooked dinner for 8 on Saturday night and we had everything we needed.... That never happens in rentals!! We spent both evenings on the screened porch chatting after the kids were asleep in their own room in perfect little trundle beds. To top it off, the house is only 3.5 minutes to the beach (we timed it)... Sooo convenient. We will absolutely be back. Thank you so much!!!

Perfect House!

What a great place to unwind from life! The house is beautiful, clean, well equipped, great location. The bike/walking trail is literacy across the street. There are 2 great places to stop for coffee and nibbles along the way (The Station on Kings & Old World Breads). Our favorite ice cream shop is Lewes hands down was Hopkins Farm Creamery. You won’t be disappointed. The house is so close to walk to town a quick drive to Cape Henlopen State Park for the beach, frisbee golf, playground adventures, etc. We loved the decor of the house. Super comfortable furniture. Nice long dinner table to accommodate our party of 10. Outside shower and hammocks were just lovely. I only wished there was a grill. Thank you for opening your lovely house to us and for your quick communication. Much appreciated for a great & relaxing week away.

Felt like home!

Everything about this home was lovely. Lara and Alex are great hosts, very organized, and prompt to answer any questions we had. The house was exceptionally clean and quite comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, and even a large pot for cooking seafood. The location was great and my family and I had a wonderful time! We hope to return again! Wendy A.

Great Visit to Lewes

We had a wonderful extended family vacation in Lewes. The house was clean, comfortable and well stocked with everything to needed. Lara was fantastic; she was very responsive with communication and could not have been nicer. I lived in Lewes previously and the location of the house cannot be beat. Close to town, Lewes Beach and Cape Henlopen. Right on the bike trails made it perfect for our young kids. We will definitely try to visit again.

Perfect house for an amazing vacation

We just finished our trip yesterday and I have nothing but wonderful things to say. In fact, I'm hesitant to write this review because I hate to let the secret out. We definitely want to rent this house again. Here's what you need to know: 1. The house is even nicer than the photos. Really nice furnishings. Fantastic layout with plenty of space. Great front and back porches and yards. This feels like someone's house that is taken care of with love and attention, not a generic rental property. 2. The location is just fantastic. Easy 5 min bike ride or 10 min walk to the heart of town. And you are literally like 20 yards from a bike path. The street is pretty and quiet. 3. Lewes is the best. So perfect for a family vacation. Cute main street with stores, restaurants, and ice cream. Fantastic beach. And Cape Henlopen State Park is gorgeous. 4. Lara and Alex are great hosts. They provided a ton of info in advance. The check in process was easy. And whenever we had a question about anything, they responded really fast and were super nice. We've rented a lot of vacation houses over the years. This is definitely one of the best! Thank you Lara and Alex for a wonderful week.

Perfect location for a socially distant thanksgiving

My family and I spent Thanksgiving there. The screened-in back porch area was perfect for a well-ventilated, socially distant thanksgiving dinner. The kitchen was spacious, and the house's layout and design were perfect for a family of 6 adults and one child. The house is next to a walk/bike trail and a walking distance to the main Lewis stretch, so we went on walks every day. After the walks, we turned on the fireplace and warmed back up with a good book or went upstairs and watched some tv on the Sling tv. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Alex and Lara.

This home is our escape from city life when we come here off season. We have tried to make it as comfortable as possible with all the creature comforts we enjoy, and so we hope it feels like home for you too!

Lewes is one of the first places we visited when we first met, we had always hoped to buy something here and now this is our 2nd home in our favorite place!

We bought this property for the amazing location in downtown historic Lewes. The old town is fantastic, with amazing restaurants and cafes all walking distance from the house, as well as the canal, playgrounds and cute little shops. The hosue itself is in a quiet cul-de-sac and so no through traffic which is so much safer with the kids.

Lewes Beach is on the bayside and so the water is calmer which was important for us for us as our kids were learning to swim. Rehoboth beach is also close by for more waves and a busier beach town feel. We love to bike and you can see the bike trail from the front door so its just perfect!
