The space was very difficult to access because there was no clear path. The outside gate barely opened. The stones were coming apart to walk on because of plants. The back entrance door was fine. There was no door knob for our door, which was a split entrance. The shower was coming apart and the tiles were peel and stick to which a lot were coming off. There were some spiders in most of the areas. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of bedding and pillows. The tv was large. The couch was very small and uncomfortable to sit on. There was a washer and dryer located in a small room, which had a light that kept quickly flashing. The hosts were very responsive and kind. Photos did not reflect what the suite looked like or how difficult it was to access.

This property is not fit to be on VRBO or any other rental site. First upon arrival at the address the exterior appearance is lacking maintenance from peeling paint to grounds disrepair, stair casing is illegal being made with 10-12” concrete block which doesn’t meet code for stairs with a 6” run and 10-12” rise, covered in weeds and not properly fastened together (dangerous), then you have to open a gate which isn’t fastened properly and drags on the ground, making it very difficult to open, from here a concrete path way leads you to a back door( weeds and cracked concrete is in disrepair and not level (tripping hazard). At the back door you find a digital deadbolt which isn’t very secure, the door is old, in disrepair and had to open and close, after entering that door you enter into a veranda with concrete stairs down to the lower suite with another digital deadbolts on a door to the suite ( no door knob) spider webs and not clean up to this point and I hadn’t even entered the suite yet! When my wife and I entered the suite we were blown away, black mold on baseboards, washroom tile missing and peeling from the wall in and around the shower, ceiling fan was so loud I thought I as going into orbit, filing in shower had peeling paint, spider webs with dead bugs hung up in them. Window single pane old wood framed windows with improper safety latches, which were not secured. This suite is a dump, and totally illegal.

Good place for a stay in Vancouver area. Bathroom fan was a bit noisy. Overall very nice.

This property needs updating. The bed was comfortable but rest of property run down and not well maintained. Lots of noise from upstairs. This property is definitely not worth the price advertised.

Basically a bed to sleep in. Dark, dingy and very dirty. I've stayed in the third world countries who don't have much but at least they're clean. Please do better. Just clean properly! And get some real blinds so that people can let some light into this dark basement. Get rid of the "wine" setup, clear the table so we can use it. Wash the cups. Check the fridge for previous visitor food. Wash the bathroom floor So I'm not stepping on other people's hair especially in the shower. Clear your walkway of weeds and branches, and unless you want to be sued, the cement stairs are a liability. I'm sorry, but this is unacceptable and needs major attention.

The basement suite is really noisy. The flooring on the main level of the house is old and creaky due to lack of maintenance, and the basement is very outdated.

Decent stay for the area

One short bus ride from Metrotown. Basement accommodations.Better than many of the options in the same price range in the area The host was very responsive and kind. Bed was great. Bathroom was small, but the shower quality was above average.There was no power outlet in the vicinity of the desk for my laptop. Full laundry machines in side room. Despite not having a kitchen, it served it's purpose. Fridge is small with no freezer. Entrance steps are a bit rough if you have issues with stairs.

Don’t do it

The pictures do not offer an accurate portrayal of this unit.We found the laundry room stinking. The whole apartment had a damp and musty odour. The carpets were dirty.The bathroom was not clean and extremely tiny. We didn’t dare use the shower.There was no where near enough electrical outlets, none in the bathroom at all. The door locks were not very secure. The outside yard was messy and covered with cigarette butts.The gate wouldn’t swing open.The steps from the driveway are very unsafe.The owners give a completely false description of the unit.We were ready to leave on arrival and find another place but there was absolutely nothing available in the area.Avoid this rental unless you are absolutely desperate!
