Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The experience was overall great. Room was neat and clean, Beach service exceptional. Reserved parking. Great places to eat nearby. Only cons (simple and corrected) was not clear on any late check-in policies (codes for gate and lock box), but the after-hours number helped with that. TV remotes could use some instructional info. Will definitely be back for another visit.

Gulfgate location is close to restaurants, Wal- Mart for groceries, shopping, and other fun activities. Pool was nice and clean. Covered parking for some rentals was a bonus for us.

Great spot!

We had a great stay. The condo was clean, spacious, and the balcony view was wonderful. The kitchen had pretty much everything we needed and we especially loved the large ice maker! The facilities are nice and our children loved the heated pool. The private beach set up is reason enough to go. The staff was also helpful and friendly and they even put together a fun Easter egg hunt on the beach.

This place was so clean! And well stocked kitchen. Location was awesome. I can’t wait to book again. Board games, comfy furniture and beds. Loved my stay. Great family vacation was had.

Perfect place for our vacation home base

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love the layout of Destin Gulfgate, especially with the second bedroom having two Queen size beds for our son and his friend. All three beds in the condo were very comfortable. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, glasses, and stuff to use for making meals. Bathroom in our bedroom was amazing. The secondary bathroom was fine for the boys (they are 15 years old), but the shower needs a little makeover. The location couldn't be better, as we could walk across the street for a lot of activities. It was also nice to have the beach service with the chairs and umbrella. The pool was great, too.

All around great! Will be back!

Our stay was great. 2nd floor was nice to avoid having to use elevators. Came with reserved covered parking, gated property too. Beach service included 2 chairs and an umbrella - only a single row of chairs with lots of extra space, so there wasn't a big crowd. Yet was located in a great place within 2 miles of grocery and walking distance to The Back Porch. Management was very responsive with any questions and helpful too. We'll definitely be coming back!

Family 4th of July Vacation Experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My family and arrived after hours and the checkin process was hassle free. We went to our room and performed our normal inspections and video of the room and while doing so my 10 star experience is now a five because of the condition of the shared bath room. Everything else was okay. Whoever owns unit 205 does not see the value in providing a 5 star experience for their guest. The jets to the tub is dirty it is one of the old tubs with a compact sliding shower door from the past and to think the sofa was not a sleeper sofa. Other than that we enjoyed our stay. This unit had lots of board games, pots, dishes and silverware, etc. The patio furniture was the best I’ve seen since I first visited four or five years ago. The pool was amazing and the newly update gazebo and grills, We definitely tested out the outdoor amenities. Our family grilled oysters and I met Marty and her family from Oklahoma. We shared music, food and made memories that my family will remember for many years to come. Other than the outdated guest bathtub our family will return but we will not select this room until the guest bathroom gets an update. The overall facility gets 10 stars.

The unit itself is in very good condition with modern touches and nicely decorated. The 3 kids loved the large pool.The covered parking space was convenient and beach access is only a few steps from the condo. The unit and large front porch was very quiet as I don’t think we heard a noise from any surrounding condos the entire week.The fitness center is in good condition and was not crowded at any point during our stay. The water was as clear as any location on the gulf or Caribbean that we have visited. There was a large high quality tv along with board games. The washer and dryer and separate ice maker were nice to have during the week.The complex is across the street from the arcade/mini golf/go karts and only a couple miles from harbor walk village and the marina. The unit has access to 3 grills that were in good condition and right beside a cabana with tables and bar top space.We had a perfect time and will certainly look to stay here again.

Where was the Manager?

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've loved Gulfgate for many years. And this unit, like most others, did not disappoint. However, at this price point I expect the responsible party to keep usable nonstick cookware in the units. Or, short of that, have a set, or individual skillets, ready at the office. In past years, under different management, I was able to take an old skillet to the front desk and with a smile, I was handed a brand new skillet - no questions. My request for a new or usable nonstick skillet were met first with "....manager is in a board meeting." A six hour meeting, as it turned out. And,then,"You have a whole set (insert defensive voice) and I'd have to call the owner." That must be one mean owner to scare the head of housekeeping out of making a simple call. In their defense, I was told they searched other units for a good skillet. So maybe we have a unit owner problem. I won't allow this to keep me from visiting our favorite Gulf front condos. Next time I'll call ahead to make sure we have nonstick cookware that doesn't have scratches all over the inside, and we'll bring two of our own, just in case. A special thanks to the sweet girl who receives guests at the front desk.

Some days the odor was intense. Some days it was just the presence of other people working on the building. Every day the ropes were in our view and blocked the view of the shore.
