Carriage House on Main in NRG National Park

Our unit is a garage apartment that has a cabin feel. The garage is detached from the house so it is very private. We are located literally seconds off of route 19 and within minutes of ACE Adventure Resort, the New River Gorge Bridge, Fayetteville, AOTG, Betchel Boy Scout Reserve and other local NRG Park favorites. The "Carriage House" has a private key pad entrance.

We return to this area annually for whitewater rafting and of all the accommodations we've used in 20 years this was best for comfort, coziness, proximity to our outfitter and the bonus of full size kitchen and laundry. Sure hope we can book this gem again next fall.

The location was perfect for our visits to New River Gorge National Park & Pipestem & Hawk’s Nest State parks. The rental was perfect, had everything we needed & more. Especially liked the gas grill & laundry facility.

Cute, Cozy above garage apartment. It has everything you need for a wonderful stay. Nice size rooms and very close to all the attractions of the New River Gorge.

NRG Getaway

We were looking for a National Park to explore within driving distance and decided on New River Gorge. The property was ideally situated for us to be able to explore the park and also Babcock State Park. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing “home base”. We will probably be back since we had a rainy day and weren’t able to get as much hiking in as we had planned. But, we were able to drive around and see more of the area due to the rain than we would’ve hiking.

Cozy & convenient

We stayed for 3 nights and had everything we needed for our stay with stores, restaurants close by. Bed was comfortable & coffee was available which were essentials for a long weekend of hiking & waterfalls.

Top-Notch Rental Experience in a Prime Location

We recently stayed in the carriage house, and it was great. The space was clean and well-organized, with everything we needed to kick off our stay, from fresh linens and towels to a fully equipped kitchen that included a Keurig. The hosts were friendly and helpful, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The location couldn't have been better—it was close to the trails and sites at the park. We loved coming back to the cozy carriage house after a day of hiking and exploring. Highly recommend this rental to anyone looking for a relaxing and convenient place to stay near New River Gorge!

Comfortable and cute apartment over garage.Near fun town of Fayetteville and all the activities associated with New River Gorge National Park. Surprisingly roomy. Host was available but respected privacy. Definitely recommend!

They even had a parade!

Clean and roomy. Close to New River Gorge national Park. Unfortunately, we didn't explore the town, but we will next time!

Amazing Getaway!

New River Weekend

Great location for visiting New River Gorge National Park, near hiking trails, the bridge walk, and white water rafting. This was also a very clean location that had a homelike feel to it. Would definitely stay again!

Oak Hill is Lovely!

Amy's carrige house was perfect for me and my husband. Amy supplied us with everything we needed. The bed was very comfy, too. Great air conditioner. The property is conveniently located right off the highway, the town is so cute and walkable, and everyone we met was extremely friendly. Very quiet neighborhood. Perfect jumping off point for NRG and all the stateparks in that area. Highly recommend!

Wonderful Getaway Near Everything

What a wonderful little place to stay! Rustic cabin feel with all of the modern comforts. My 2 teenagers and I stayed for 11 nights. It is so conveniently located near white water rafting, hiking, bowling, horseback riding, water park, and so much more! Amy is an amazing hostess who responded to messages quickly and went out of her way to make our stay comfortable.

Nice Stay

We stayed here for 3 nights to see the NRG. The carriage house is an older place and had charm. Nothing fancy but served it’s purpose and was clean. Location to the park was great but we didn’t get to the southern end. ACE is very close if you have an excursions there.

Great place for business trip

Carriage House offered wonderful accommodations for my business trip to Oak Hill and Fayetteville. The wi-fi signal was strong and didn’t go out once, let alone multiple times a day, as often happens in a motel or hotel. The large dining room table gave me plenty of room to work. I enjoyed relaxing in the living room after a hard day of driving and also preparing my own breakfast in the well-equipped kitchen. The location is perfect if you have business along Rt. 19 or the WV Turnpike. I also appreciated having enough space in the apartment for my yoga practice! Highly recommended.

Excellent experience all around!

The entire experience was excellent! Amy was quick to reply to messages sent prior to and during the stay. The listing was accurate, and the place had everything we needed. The location was perfect for making most of the New River Gorge hiking and rafting. Amy and Wes went above and beyond to help when we got a flat tire at the end of our stay. They made it obvious that they valued their guests, and we really appreciated their hospitality!

Hello, I have lived in Fayette County WV my entire life. I met my husband who was here working as a raft guide and video boater during the summers. We recently bought this property and decided to put the garage apartment on VRBO after encouragement from our three teenage kids. My husband and two sons are avid cyclists and can recommend trails if you are interested in mountain biking while you are here. Along with the three kids we have a 10 year old boxer.

We recently purchased this property even though it is larger than where we raised our family and both our boys have recently gone to college. We fell in love with the main house due to the location on Main Street and the view. You can look out over the mountains and see where the river winds it's way through them.
