Perfect place for a tranquil family gathering - just a few blocks from town

High Peaks Gathering Place provides a wonderful setting to host family reunions, bridal shower and small company events. The 6500 square feet spacious house has 9 bedrooms and 6 full bathroom and can sleep up to 18 guest. Please note that this number accounts for children. The house would not comfortably sleep 18 adults.

The house is just a few minutes walk from center of town, Mirror Lake and Lake Placid Marina, yet it sits on a quiet residential street for a peaceful get together with family and friends. For nature lovers, there are abundance of hiking trails. Whiteface is approximately 7 miles from the house and it offers activities all year around.

The kitchen has two ovens and two dishwashers, making it efficient to cook for large families. There is a drip coffee maker as well a k-cup machine. The house offers a large mudroom for everyone to store their boots and hang their coats. And one of the most unique features this house offers is the equipment drying room. Hang your wet winter attire and warm up your ski boots in the drying room and you are ready to hit the snow again!

We rented this home for Thanksgiving and it was by far the best VRBO home I’ve ever rented. The kitchen was fully stocked, they had bar soap in bathrooms, even had zip lock bags…the furniture was comfortable and clean. Incredible rental, highly recommend!!

This beautiful home was perfect for our family vacation with our daughter, son, and their families. It's only a few blocks from Main Street and Mirror Lake. The kitchen has everything you could ever want and is better stocked than my own! We had fun cooking many meals together. The granddaughters loved badminton and ping pong, and we all loved playing pool and Pac Man. The home has plenty of places to gather or to just quietly read a book. There are plenty of nice bedrooms and bathrooms so we could spread out with our own spaces. Check in was right at 10:00 a.m. with easy coded door locks. Kim was an outstanding and responsive host and the Lake Placid area has many opportunities to see and do new things. We would definitely rent this home again and our family left the week with many special memories of all the fun we had together.

Fantastic weekend in Lake Placid

We were absolutely blown away by the property! We enjoyed our stay—the bedrooms and bathrooms were all spacious and clean. The kitchen, living room, and dining room comfortably accommodated our large group (lots of seating options and space) visiting Lake Placid! We were impressed with all the amenities and how well the house was stocked (lots of utensils, glassware, plates, serving dishes, games, outdoor games, etc.). The house was also in a perfect location, close proximity to downtown and plenty of parking. Kim was great with communication before and during our stay, she’s a great host! I would love to return for another stay at this VRBO property.

Home away from home!

We arrived at the house and immediately felt like we were home! The house is beautiful and even better than advertised. Exceptionally clean, roomy and well maintained home right in the heart of Lake Placid.

My wife and I hosted a 5-night get-together for my four siblings and two brother-in-laws. Everyone was extremely pleased with High Peaks house. It was the cleanest, roomiest and best equipped property that we have rented through VRBO and we have rented quite a few houses over the past 15 years. We loved the mud room for stashing our coats, boots, backpacks, etc. after coming back from our hikes and the drying closet came in really handy when we had some wet days. The location of the house in the center of Lake Placid was great. Kim was very responsive to our phone calls for assistance. All in all an exceptional property that we highly recommend.

Family get together

Our family was very happy with all aspects of this house. Really beautiful house with tons of room with a great location. 2 minute walk to Main Street to be right on Mirror Lake, restraunts, shops, etc. beautiful area. Very easy to speak with property manager and everything in listing is accurate. We look forward to coming back.

Labor Day wedding

Our four children and spouses were in town for a wedding. This home was perfect for our group. lots of space, clean, convenient location and every possible thing we could need was supplied. definitely recommend staying here if you have a large group.

A Dream Vacation

This home is stunning. Every amenity you could ask for is in this house. Two fridges, two ovens, two dishwashers, a drying room for your gear, laundry, WiFi, bathrooms, bedrooms... everything is in amazing condition, well organized and absolutely lovely. And the town of Lake Placid is charming, with great restaurants and shops and beaches and boating and sites to see and places to visit. We hope to return. It was an amazing spot for our family of 15. This house is an amazing space for a large group of all ages. The location is within walking distance to the center of town. This property provides plenty of private parking and activities both inside and out to entertain kids both young and old.

Family Gathering & Celebrations

Three generations (17 pp) stayed at this property for four nights. Three levels of living offered each family plenty of space to call their own while also having many central areas for gathering. Endless opportunities for fun with all of the options available. We had mostly rainy days so it was important to have things to keep everyone busy while indoors. From playing ping pong on the top floor to playing pool on the lower level, and spikeball in the garage, there was plenty to do. When able to go outside, we played volleyball and badminton while having a bbq in the backyard. The location of the home was wonderful. It was so great to walk to the downtown area. Short drives to some of the Lake Placid highlights, grocery store, brew pubs & restaurants. All in all, very convenient. The house was extremely clean, had everything stocked, comfortable beds and furniture. Our stay was just spectacular. We are so pleased with our time in this home, making memories that will last a lifetime.

Outstanding property

"Wow" is all anyone in our group could say about this house. The pictures do not do the space justice. Our group was comprised of 17 extended family members - 11 adults and 6 kids (ages 1-9yo). There were so many beds that we were able to adjust sleeping arrangements during our stay. Each family unit had its own bathroom. The entry and mudroom area were plenty big for our ski and hockey equipment, as was the immaculate garage. The heated mudroom closet was amazing - we warmed our ski boots and hung the kids snow gear in there to dry. The house is unbelievably stocked. The kitchen has every possible utensil/baking/cooking dish you could want, and there were plenty of dishes, glasses, and silverware. The owner also made sure we had extra paper-towels and toilet paper. There were ample bath towels, pillows and blankets (nice ones too). They thought of everything for this house. Two dishwashers. Individual light switches for the bunk beds. Heated bathroom floors. The only thing we missed was a hot tub. Finally, you can't beat the location of this house. We walked to dinner the 3 nights that we went out. The owner was communicative and very accommodating. I can't recommend this house enough!

The Perfect Spot

This beautiful house was the perfect location for our Friendsgiving!! There was plenty of room for sleeping, card cakes, ping pong, pool, cooking and relaxing! The owners thought of everything! I can’t think of one utensil, cookware, pillow, nightlight…we needed! The instructions were easy to follow and easy to implement. The bedding was comfortable and the rooms well stocked. The location is idea for walks downtown or around the lake. Seriously, the perfect place!

Beautiful house with plenty of room.

We truly enjoyed our stay. The house was even better than we hoped for with plenty of room and bathrooms.we enjoyed the gas fireplace and the dining room table was great for a group of eleven with more than enough room to spare.

My favorite rental ever!!

We have rented a lot of properties in many locations & this one is by far my favorite!!! This was my second time staying here & I loved it even more than the first time. The house is gorgeous, spotless & equipped with everything you could possibly need & then some. Our group consisted of 14 adults a 4 children & there was more than enough space for everyone..whether you wanted to all be together or needed some quiet space alone. Thank you for an amazing experience once again…this was a birthday celebration I will never forget!!
