Beautiful 6 BR House in center of Historic District 1 Block to Beach
House, 6 Bedrooms, 3.5+ Baths, (Sleeps 12) Linens and towels are NOT provided.
Cape May is one of only three cities in the USA in which the whole city is designated an Historic Landmark City. The historic district is composed of hundreds of beautifully painted and maintained Victorian homes. Decatur Street is the heart of this district and 132 Decatur is a classic example of 'Queen Anne' Victorian architecture. Trolley, horse-drawn carriage, and walking tours travel the streets with guides telling stories about the history of 'the United States first Seashore Resort', the five presidents that made this their summer white house, and the unique architecture like 132 Decatur's 'belly porch.' The porch is one of the areas that everyone loves. It is large and relaxing, surrounded by flowers, and an ideal place to people watch, have cocktails, watch the horse-drawn carriages, and dine.
132 Decatur Street has an ideal location. It is one block from a beautiful wide beach yet only one half block from the center of the pedestrian shopping mall. Everything is within an easy walk. Excellent restaurants, bars with live entertainment, interesting boutiques, two live theaters, miniature golf, and arcades for the kids are no more than four blocks away. Challenging golf courses and excellent deep sea fishing are close by.
The house is roomy and comfortable. We installed central A/C and heat. The pictures with window A/C units are old pics. All rooms have central A/C. The kitchen is newly renovated with granite counters and stainless steel appliances. It is fully equipped with all the utensils a gourmet cook might need. An HDTV is wall-mounted in the kitchen. It has counter space for seven diners as well as a separate bar and coffee bar area with beverage refrigerator, blenders and multiple coffee makers. A powder room and fully equipped laundry are adjacent to the kitchen. The house has a dining room that will accommodate twelve and two living rooms. Each living room has a flat screen HDTV and DVD. The living rooms are separated by pocket doors to allow for different tastes in TV or movie watching.
The second floor has four bedrooms and three full modern bathrooms (beds are 3 Queens and 1 Twin). The third floor has two bedrooms (beds are 2 Full and 2 Twin) and a turret used as a reading area. The rear yard is fenced with a six foot fence for privacy and safety of young children. It has an outside shower / changing area and parking for two cars. Everyone that stays at 132 Decatur loves the house and its convenience.
We do not provide bed linens or bath towels. It is the tenants responsibility to bring their own or rent from a service in Cape May. We’ve provided 8 beach tags. We can not guarantee the beach tags.
Cleanliness is on everyone's mind this year. We have a professional service, Gofers Cleaning Service, cleaning and disinfecting between tenants. The owner of Gofers supplied the following information to help you be comfortable: "The two most important things for renters to do is to vacate the property on time and to not arrive early so cleaners have time to do the work. We use Lysol, Clorox and the Quat line of products from National Chemical Labs, a major supplier to hospitals, schools, and commercial establishments. We always use disposable gloves, which once used are disposed. Fresh gloves at every location. Fresh mop heads are used at each location. We use hundreds of rags by the end of a day. I believe the houses that we service are some of the most germ and virus free houses in Cape May. "
