Relax with all the comforts of home in this beautifully decorated mid-century modern one bedroom condo, located in the iconic Ocotillo Lodge, just minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Designed by William Krisel in 1956, this cozy top floor condo is located just steps from the champagne cork shaped heated pool, one of the largest in Palm Springs, as well as two whirlpool spas.

The interior features classic mid-century architectural elements such as tongue & groove ceilings, clerestory windows and a glass slider overlooking the patio area. The condo has been completely renovated with a contemporary flair!

The grounds of the complex are beautifully designed with desert landscape and cactus. The main clubhouse has a lounge area with pool table that overlooks the pool. Relax at the nostalgic Sunshine Bar adjacent to the pool area.

Ocotillo Lodge was designed by world renowned architects Dan Palmer and William Krisel and was built by George and Bob Alexander in 1957. The resort was a popular destination and hot spot for Hollywood celebrities such Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe, George Burns, Gracie Allen, Peggy Lee and The Rat Pack.

Please note: Smoking is prohibited throughout the entire complex.

A starter amount of TP, paper towels, shampoo and body wash is provided.

Mid-Century Modern Palm Springs

This was our first time in Palm Springs. The location of our VRBO was perfect. It was a very easy 5 minute drive to the city center and many great restaurants. The pool was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Fun Weekend Getaway

Wonderful clean condo in great location

We loved the Peggy Lee suite. Clean, nicely decorated in local vibe style. Comfortable bed and furniture. Kitchen fully equipped with everything one could need. Easy to get to everything in the area. Easy check in with Jon. Would definitely stay here again.

Palm Springs Getaway

My wife & I had a fabulous time in this immaculate little gem of a condo. The Ocotillo Lodge is an excellent property and we spent many lazy hours in the morning & late afternoon at the huge pool. Property is close enough to the downtown for easy Uber rides. Customer Service of Jon & Chris was excellent and we will definitely stay here again & recommend it to our friends

All around great place

Everything was great. No complaints, but I do have one caveat. The bed is very low to the floor and difficult to get out of for people who are old (like me) or have mobility issues. But if you're spry, by all means stay here!

Great spot!

We really enjoyed our time at The Peggy Lee. It's a super cute spot and was very clean, had a well supplied kitchen (in terms of pots, pans etc) and a very comfortable bed. The rule about no amplified music was the only downside but we understand it's the condo rules and not the owner's.

Time travel to the golden age!

Excellent location, five minutes to all the amenities of downtown. Eight minutes from the airport. Wonderful decorations with all the mid-century touches, including Sinatra on the pool radio. Excellent communication and check in process. Our third time staying here, will likely make it a yearly tradition. Absolutely fantastic with nothing negative to note.

Great little place

The good: great location, nice place, good communication with the rental managers. I liked having a kitchen, even though I didn't really need it. The not-so-good: I really loathe having to take out the trash after my stay, especially when the dumpsters aren't exactly convenient. That's what the cleaning fee is for, right? There are LOTS of rules, most are because of the Palm Springs city ordinances, so I totally understand those. But there was one that was sketch--not eating in bed because it's hard to clean. Which makes me wonder if they're actually changing the sheets? Other than that it was a great stay in a fun location. I didn't end up using the pool but it looked very inviting. Fun vibe, quiet place.

Great Spot

We would stay in the same area again. I can’t say enough good things about the host of the property. Excellent to deal with and communication couldn’t be better. They host multiple properties and we wouldn’t hesitate to book another property that they host. The unit itself is very well set up, very well stocked with kitchen supplies and toiletries. The bed is very comfortable also. The location is excellent and the pool is wonderful because of the great views and very clean. The only things to mention is with the unit itself. Although very clean, the living room carpet is stained and a pillow on the couch is stained which you see as upon arriving to the unit which is not nice. Also the bedspread needs to be washed as it is very dusty., and finally I took out a new towel supplied in the cupboard below in the bathroom and it was stained. So either not washed or needs to be replaced. That is the reason for the 4 stars. Easy fixes and otherwise we would stay there again.

The lodge is great, can’t say the same for the unit

The so-called completely renovated unit, was done a long time ago with 100% Walmart/target -type stuff. There is no way for two people to comfortably watch TV, chairs are all uncomfortable. The floors are plastic wood which feels cold and gritty 1 old small gray rug. The bed is barely raised from the floor, so is hard on the knees. We have never stayed anywhere, incl. condo, with a pool that fails to supply robes for a two weeks stay. So bring larger suitcases with your own. Bathroom water pipes constantly run and there is a sign indicating there are “drain” problems.Jon the manager said that to repair this the whole system would have to be dug up. When we left,Jon falsely claimed we caused damaged because the white towels and sheets were dirty. We washed some of them after the first week, yet we were charged 76 for this lie after we left, with no receipts or proof provided per my request. Pool and hot tubs are fabulous as is the landscaping. Will return but to a different unit!

It's unfortunate and quite clear that Susan has written this review in retaliation to damages being reported to several sets of linens that could not be cleaned after her stay. We have many great reviews from previous guests, however, Susan was the exception. Photos of substantial stains were sent to VRBO along with a receipt of the towels and sheets set that had to be replaced, even after laundering. As a result of the stained linens and lack of responsibility for what was damaged, we would not rent to Susan again.

Condo on Palm Canyon

The condo was clean except for a stain on one of the pillow cases. The exterior common area was not clean. We rented the condo for 11 days, but we’re only provided enough towels for about 6 days. We had to buy towels! We also bought washcloths because they remind you repeatedly not to use their white washcloths for makeup removal, but only provided two dark washcloths for makeup removal. We will not stay there again and will probably never stay in Palm Springs again due to the “noise ordinance “ that is pushed down your throat. We are not noise makers, but the noise ordinance states if police are called you automatically get a $500 fine. Well what constitutes “noise”??? Seems anyone could complain and you end up with a hefty fine. Pretty sure a “renter” is going to lose any discussion regarding noise. Was overall just uncomfortable although I understand several crazy partiers caused this ordinance to be adopted I think it will hurt rental rates in Palm Springs.

Chandra, We're sorry you did not find your stay enjoyable. Had you let us know there was a stain on the pillow-case, we would have happily replaced it for you. We provide two sets of linens for your stay. There are onsite laundry facilities for those guests who have longer stays and need to wash linens. Unlike a hotel, fresh linens are not continually provided throughout your stay. You are renting someone's home. This is fairly standard in a vacation rental. As far as the noise ordinance, this is a city- wide noise ordinance for all vacation rentals in Palm Springs. As was explained to you, no one receives a citation automatically simply because a neighbor calls in a compliant. A compliance officer has to come to the property and witness the music violation themselves before a citation would be issued. If you are not noise makers, as you say, then you had nothing to worry about. We try our best to let you know about the ordinance several times in the booking process, including prior to you actually booking the property, because we want to be as transparent as possible to our guests so that they do not receive an unexpected citation from the city.

LOVED IT!

Super clean 2nd floor w/patio. Very quiet. Luxurious & super clean pool/hottub. Grounds were beautiful. HUGE work-out room overlooking the pool area. Mid-century homes on streets behind Ocotillo Lodge. We went in December for the Christmas Parade & Indio Tamale Festival. Jon was our contact and was the best. Not far from downtown Palm Springs. Easily found and felt very safe.

Mid-Century Revival

The Peggy Lee unit is nestled in the historic Ocotillo Lodge. The unit is private, with mid-century-inspired furnishings, and a fully stocked kitchen. The pool and spa were well maintained. As a mid-century mod fan, I was disappointed that the main lodge and fitness center were closed until further notice. However, it was still a pleasure to stay in this slice of history.

Palm Springs Good Location

Condo though small was very clean. Shower stall was interesting and challenged plumbing means you have to be mindful of what you flush. We know that no place is going to be perfect at these price points but this condo stay was quite nice in spite of the bathroom details mentioned above. Good location on East Palm Canyon (111) takes you easily to Rancho Mirage and Palm Dessert with a right turn and with a left directly into Downtown Palm Springs. Great mid-century neighborhood called Twin Palms right behind the condo with wonderful walking for those so inclined. Also a lovely and very well kept pool (Champagne Cork) and two hot tubs on site. Traditional breakfast place (Elmers) right across the street and Koffi (name) shop close as well. The Mountains are right there... and I mean it. Beautiful. Condo is in the Ocotillo Lodge where numerous celebrities stayed back in the day-- some of the units are named after those rumored to have stayed in them when the lodge was a functioning hotel.

Perfect getaway

The complex was pretty quiet and laid back. Never more than a handful of people at the pool/hot tub. Neighbors were friendly and offered some tips for places to go and eat etc. The unit was comfortable and well-styled. Location is convenient to airport, downtown, lots of points of interest. Several great spas and restaurants within walking distance. Would go back in a heartbeat!
