Overall the property was unique and the check in communications were good. However, we had significant issues with the house people should be aware of. We were informed that one of the bathrooms was not working well and to avoid it which was fine. When we arrived at 6 PM the house was very cold (under 60 degrees). We proceeded to turn on the main stove heater and space heaters in the rooms per the instructions on the stove. We then left and went to dinner. When we came back around 7:30 PM the house was still cold and none of the heaters were working. I messaged the host but did not hear back. Since it was late we decided to leave the house and stay somewhere at a hotel.Eventually I got in touch with the host and was told it was a tripped GFCI which could be fixed. However, I would be concerned that they could trip again leading to issues on a cold night. It was a cold and rainy night so we were uncomfortable staying in a very cold house that wasn't working.Subsequent communication with the host included a number of false statements from his cleaners about what was and wasn't used during the brief time we were in the home. I would encourage everyone to take careful pictures to document everything in case you have issues given those challenges.I asked for a full and then a partial refund for the stay given the issues but that was not accepted.We loved the cute uniqueness of the house but wouldn't stay there again during poor weather.

The host was very responsive when we had an issue with one of the toilets. Unfortunately it wasn't able to be resolved during our stay. Host left Halloween goodies for us, and snacks. Very pleasant stay! Would definitely stay again if ever in the area

We enjoyed this property quite a bit. It is a great spot to access the redwood parks and beach. It’s in a more urban area, so there is some foot traffic and road noise, but nothing a fan couldn’t hide. Bonus of that is that you are walking distance to coffee shops, fast food, groceries and some cute restaurants. Overall, we found the host very responsive. Great place for families—came in October to find Halloween goodies and decor. My kids thought that was awesome! Also has very thoughtful set up with snacks and coffee. Sets you up for a great start.Thanks Marshawn!

My three friends and I have been doing an annual guys trip for years. We started using Vrbo properties almost 10 years ago. We stay in 3 to 4 properties each year and this house is in all our top 5s. The house was clean and comfortable. The private back yard/deck are great for hanging around the house and the location had several places within walking distance to get food. If I’m ever in Crescent City again I will be looking to book this house

Or stay was just one night as we were paying through. It was perfect for our needs! The house looked just like the pictures. There were many amenities with personal touches that were great. Music playing when we walked in, snacks for the kids, mints at the door, laser tag and video console. The kitchen was well stocked! Appliances were new. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the host was great!

We enjoyed staying here a few days with our kids. We arrived to jazz music playing and snacks in the kitchen. The beds were comfortable and there is enough space in the house for everyone to enjoy a few days there. We grilled burgers for dinner one evening on the deck. The house is close to Highway but we used fans in the house to help with white noise at night to help. Nearby a lot of fun activities and not far from Trees of Mystery and State Parks, beaches, we drove to Gold Beach in Oregon and did a Jet Boat tour for a day and that was really fun. Beautiful area! We would love to come back and would stay again in this house.

This place was amazing and the host is exceptional. He made sure we had all the information we needed for our stay and also shared a lot of information about the town. It was easy finding a good spot to eat and some cool things for us and the kids to check out. Crescent City is a cozy little costal town. Our family loved how walkable it was and how much there was to explore. You won’t be disappointed with the property or your time spent in this wonderful little town. Thank you so much for helping us have a memorable experience in Crescent City!

The property was not clean as expected (dirty floors and cobwebs), there were broken items (coffee maker, toaster, porch chair), and it is located on a busy street. Nice location to the redwoods and some house updates.

Great property owner

We did enjoy our stay in Crescent City for the most part. I would say highlights are the house is cute, great amount of space and close to anything city related (local fast food chains, for example). The property owner is fantastic and very responsive which made some minor issues we experienced a lot better.When we arrived to the location it wasn't cleaned very well. The property owner was quickly responsive on how we could solve the issue. One other item that wasn't great, was the location is in the middle of town and the environment around the house made us nervous to go out at night or leave the windows open for fresh air. I really do appreciate the owner taking care of us so quickly and kindly.

Great stay

We travel to Crescent City often to visit friends who moved there. This property was in a great location to walk and get food. The kids and teens loved the video games, board games and outside games provided as well. We all had a great time!

My kids and I needed a little getaway and found this beautiful house. We loved the house and any questions or issues were immediately addressed by property manager. Wonderful experience and looking forward to visiting in the future. We will definitely book again and highly recommend this house!

Short stay

We had a short stay in Crescent city wanted a place we could crash as a family of eight. Marshawn‘s home was perfect for what we needed. It had all the amenities and more and was close to shops and restaurants. Marshawn was quick to respond to any issues and made us feel comfortable in his home. We would definitely stay again thank you

I am from Sacramento area, and work in Social Services. After visiting the area, I fell in love with Crescent City and its scenic ocean views, clean rivers, and majestic redwoods. Its a welcome escape from the hustle of the city.

It has been a true blessing to own such a property. They say your not supposed to fall in love with a home when looking, but I did, with all of its hidden nooks, crannies, and vintage charm.
It truly has all the character and craftsmanship of a vintage home, yet felt surprisingly up to date, thus the name, The Modern Vintage. After making even more upgrades and modernizing the décor and amenities, it is truly my pleasure to share this home with you.
