You can't get any closer to the beach than Happy House 1, an oceanfront duplex condo with a brand new boardwalk installed in 2019. This absolutely gorgeous condo has been updated from top to bottom with high-end finishes, including refinished hardwood floors, custom tilework, hand-painted murals, granite countertops, lovely furnishings, and beautiful appliances. 2023 renovations include newly-paneled walls with fresh paint, new curtains, and high-end decor. You'll feel completely at home with luxuries such as free WiFi, TVs in the living room and every bedroom, a DVD player, and a private washer/dryer. Best of all, you can gaze out upon the ocean from the primary bedroom, the living room, the kitchen, and the dining room. Open the French doors and extend the living space to relax on the private balcony and watch the waves crash on the shore.

Comfortable and convenient, this property offers you the best of both worlds - a quiet North Ocean City setting but with all of the fun and excitement right at your fingertips. Many great shops, activities, and restaurants are within walking distance, including Lost Treasure Golf, Sun & Surf Cinema, and the Fenwick Island Lighthouse. Enjoy direct beach access, an outdoor shower, and private parking for two cars at no cost.

The top floor of the building, Happy House 2, is available to rent as well

THINGS TO KNOW
Ocean City has adopted a noise control ordinance that makes it unlawful to cause or permit noise levels which exceed those established by the Department of the Environment of the State of Maryland (COMAR 26.02.03.02) or are in violation of Chapter 30, Article V of the Town Code. It shall be a violation of this agreement and grounds for eviction under Maryland law if these noise levels are exceeded as a result of activity on this property. Ocean City has other noise ordinances, which are criminal offenses if violated.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Happy house for sure

We had a fabulous vacation. The view was priceless and steps to the beach. The kitchen was very well stocked and plenty of room for everyone. You can hear every step from the upstairs guests, but it was a small price to pay.

We were happy in Happy House

Great place, enough for the six of us. The deck is great, my favorite spot to hang out and watch the ocean. And it is also steps from the beach. We had what we needed here. Just be sure to bring paper towels, trash bags, and any condiments, oil, etc b/c there was none of that in the kitchen like you might find in other rentals.

Happiness at the Happy House 1

A little small for our group of 10 plus infant. Floors & showers could be cleaner, mold around base of shower doors. We made the best of it & had a good time. Short walk to beach was nice!

Needs to be cleaned

The place is a perfect location right on the beach. When we checked there was no linen but a quick phone call got us we needed. The place is dirty, dust everywhere, gum, stuck to the carpet, showers needed some scrubbing, broken light fixtures etc. Overall it was a fun trip with the family due to the location.

Very nice place for a family vacation.

The place was great overall. Plenty of space for our family - we had 4 adults and 4 kids ages 2-8. The location was excellent. Walking off the back deck and being in the sand was great. The only complaint was the doors to the deck did not function easily. There are directions on the door, but they would not lock properly. We were there during a pretty bad storm and two of the doors actually blew open. The roof was leaking by the one door as well.

Great location - missing items

Location was wonderful. Missing coffee pot and not replaced until next evening. Had to spend $50 on coffee that was never reimbursed even though the listing said it had a coffee pot. We were on the bottom floor and the people above us were extremely loud when walking around. The house at times was shaking. There is mold everywhere and the place was not clean. Would not return.

The view and location are perfect. It is so easy to access the beach. We stayed on the first floor and although we could hear foot steps- it wasn’t bad. The home did had a distinct musty/water smell like a wet basement. I had difficulty breathing as I have asthma. By day three I didn’t notice the smell. Washer and dryer worked perfectly- although I will have to re wash all of our clothing. Dishwasher and other amenities worked nicely. Again, the view and location is something that is hard to find. I liked the first floor because you can access back porch from outside.

Pretty Views but Not Great Inside

The place was cozy and quaint; it was clean. The view from the balcony was beautiful, and the deck was enjoyable. The access to the beach was great and the outside shower was very handy. It was clear the unit was originally one house that has been divided into two units. We were on the lower unit and could constantly hear the tenants above walking around and talking. There was one water heater shared between both units which caused a shortage of hot water between both units. Showers were often cold. The washer and dryer were about 5ft from the head of one of the beds which was distracting when trying to sleep and someone was trying to do laundry. The unit smelled very damp, especially in the bathrooms. If a damp swimsuit was hung on a hook to dry, it would still be damp 24 hours later. Even though there were curtains, the lack of blinds permitted the 5:30 AM sun to wake up tenants as well. The owners have made good use of the space with dressers and armoires, but there was no space to keep a suitcase; they had to be moved to under the bed or to the car. I would not recommend this place for a family with young kids since sound permeates throughout the unit and from up above.

We enjoyed the apartment. Clean, well stocked, renovated baths and kitchen, nice location. Our only complaints were these: ice maker not working, freezer drawer hard to open, we used bagged ice instead ; mildew smell upon entry - a/c units’ filters were covered with black mold. Our 6-week old baby had trouble breathing from the start so we looked at filters and then scrubbed them. Did not contact management because we wanted to clean them immediately and didn’t know how long a service request would take. Still, we liked the place and will consider returning.

Great property

Our family just finished vacationing at Happy House. The location is perfect. Just steps from the beach and a lovely deck to enjoy coffee in the morning or watching the sunset in the evening. The house was updated with pretty decor and new/clean furniture. The kitchen was well stocked, but there was no place to put dry food. Not one cabinet for storage, so we piled food on the floor next to the table which was not ideal. There is a small closet near the kitchen with a vacuum and dust pans. I would recommend adding shelves for a pantry and putting the cleaning items in a bedroom closet. The bedrooms were a bit small and none of them had mirrors, but it was fine for our family of six. We had a minor issue with one of the bathtub drains and the maintenance crew resolved it quickly. It should be noted that the parking is for two cars, but it is tandem in a rather narrow area under the house. It took some maneuvering to get into the cars because we couldn’t open doors on both side at the same time. Moisture issues are always a problem at the beach, so it’s not exclusive to this home, but we discovered that there is a dry setting on the AC systems that helped somewhat. PTAC AC systems are not designed to remove moisture, so doors should be kept shut when it’s humid. Although this home was a bit on the smaller side, we would definitely consider staying again. We enjoyed the location and were very comfortable despite the minor shortcomings. Plenty of room on the deck to play games in the evening and kitchen/dining/living area were perfect for gathering. You will definitely be happy staying at Happy House.

Wonderful family vacation

This was our first family trip and everyone enjoyed it. You can’t get closer to the beach. There was quite a bit of noise from the upstairs tenants at night but the view and location made up for that. Would definitely rent again.

Happy House made us happy!

The house was more than we could have expected. So much space. Parking a little tight, but we made do. Great location. Be on the beach in one minute. Couldn't have asked for anything better! We would stay here again. And I highly recommend the house as well as VRBO/Vacasa.

Holiday get away

The location is perfect! We were able to spend time on the beach, walk a few steps back to the condo refresh and go back to the beach. The condo was semi clean, there was some mold in the master bedroom shower. The one downside was that we could hear everything that was going on upstairs, conversations and loud footsteps. If you’re a light sleeper or have children that have a hard time falling asleep this can be an issue. The chandelier shook from the people upstairs and every time someone walked, the bed in the master bedroom shook. Aside from that, it was a great place to stay.

Cleanliness was lacking big time

This was the perfect location. The house was set up well and had all the space we needed. The covered parked was great for our bikes but hard to fit just one car let alone 2 (we have a truck). The cleanliness was terrible. Pretty sure it had not been vacuumed or swept in weeks. Sand on all floors, crumbs, dust, legos not from us. Mold on bathroom ceilings. Master bath had no window covering. Overall a good stay due to location. Just expected it to be cleaner for what we paid and with Covid still an issue.

Great location

Place was a lot smaller then we thought for a 4 bedroom. Very expensive for such a small place. I would expected the condo to have been much bigger for the amount we were charged. Everything was in excellent condition and was perfect distance from home the beach parking is very tight don’t bring a truck.
