This 2 bedroom apt offers a cozy & peaceful and location. It is located in the Latin quarter, within walking distance of “Rue Mouffetard”, “place de la Contrescarpe”, The “Jardin des plantes”, Ile Saint Louis, Notre-Dame Cathedral, le “Paradis Latin” Cabaret and the Saint Germain area. One finds plenty of restaurants, shops, cinemas and many cultural sites to visit.

The wooden beams on the ceiling give a romantic feeling. The apartment is located on the third floor and is very calm. It is a peaceful oasis within the vivid activity of Quartier Latin.

The apartment has been fully repainted recently. The main bathroom is also totally new. The small bathtub will was replaced by a nice shower. Tiles, paint and sink where also replaced by modern ones.

All 4 windows of the apartment offer great views : the ancient Paris city, Lutecia, had its arenas located there. You may visit the garden and sit on the ruins of the arena. If you have kids the zoo and museum of natural history are in the “Jardin des Plantes” is a short walking distance away.

Apartment set up - the living room and dining room are linked. Kitchen is open, integrated in the dining room and offers a bar. The lounge area comfortably seats 5 guests. The dining table could seat up to 6 guests. Both bedrooms have their private bathroom & toilets. Bedrooms are located at opposite sides of the flat to increase privacy.

The apt has the convenience of a 2nd bathroom linked to the second bedroom. It is small but it is rare to find 2 bathrooms in Parisians apts. The second bathroom is a convenience bathroom, It is not meant to be used as a main bathroom.

Two famous French Universities, the “Sorbonne” and “The Collège de France” are located in the district. Last but not least, if you’re a jogger or a stroller, the Jardin des plantes garden is open and free.
This location in the Latin quarter is a perfect base from which to visit Paris. It is very central. There are 2 subway lines and 2 railways stations nearby. It is never more than 15 minutes by subway to the most interesting sites in all of Paris.

Loved the place & the location

Great stay, quiet neighborhood. Was perfect for our 19 year twin daughters and my husband and I. A little bit of a workout getting to the 4th floor, but worth it once in the apartment. Would stay there again!

We cannot do much about the stairs, it is frequent in old buiidings that were build at the beginning of the 19th. My family and I had a wonderful stay here. The apartment looked over a sweet park, and was located in a great neighborhood. We loved it.

Paris stay for family

Great spot, convenient. One of the few apartments I found with two bedrooms and two baths. Worked well for our family of 4. Good communication with hosts about check in details.

Paris in early May

Great location, stairs got easier each day! And very quiet - the apartment looks over a lovely playground/park area tucked in behind the buildings so we didn’t have any street noise at all at night.

2 Bed, 2 Bath Apt. near Metro

Communication was great. Apt. as described EXCEPT 3rd floor steps are narrow and steep; entire apt. is covered with sisal carpet (hard on stocking feet) and lots of personal property in bedrooms & baths. Little space for luggage, clothes or personal belongings (see photo of MANY books). Across street from metro lines 7 & 10. Very secure building.

Hi Sally, Thanks for your review and glad to hear you found that communication was great and the apartment as described. Concerning the stairs here is the historical explanation: This is the Latin Quarter, a very central and old part of Paris. Many buildings including this one have been built centuries ago, with narrow stairs. When later the elevator was invented, there was not enough space left to insert one. Parisians are used to it and consider it a part of the charm of living in a historical building. We wouldn’t recommend this kind of apartment to anybody needing or preferring to have an elevator, more recent buildings have elevators. On the other hand, guests who don’t mind stairs generally love this apartment. That said we do manage a few apartments including some with elevators, and we look forward to being able to host you again in one of them, during your next trip to Paris. Sincerely, Paul

Watch out for the stairs!

The description says 3rd floor. It's the troisième (3rd) étage (floor) per the French way of counting, but it's on the 4th (American) floor. If you have heavy/large luggage and are older, you'll have a tough time making it to the top, as the stairs get narrower as you mount. Also, BE SURE to have the person who lets you in when you arrive check to make sure you can get online. We couldn't and it took awhile to fix the problem. It's a nice apartment and the Café Jussieu across the street became our hangout joint. We did not cook there so I can't comment on the kitchen.

To explain : The stairs in the buildings of the central part of Paris have mainly been constructed more than a century ago. They were narrow because of the cost. One century later it doesn't leave a place to build an elevator. Next time do not hesitate to ask us for an apartment in a more modern bulding with elevator. Ancient buildings in the central districts are charming but stairs can indeed be difficult to manage for the olders. Café Jussieu is indeed a nice place to take a drink! Not worth it/falling apart

I assumed this would be similar to other vrbo stays I’ve done where communication takes place through the app but they insisted on email communication and then yelled at me for not responding when they never told me they were emailing me until the day before. All emails went to spam so how was I supposed to know otherwise? There were hairs inside the sheets and on the toilet when we arrived. There weren’t extra trash bags yet we were expected to clean up after ourselves a lot. The flooring is this weird woven wicker and they are holding my deposit bc there was a stain from water. This came from me hang drying my cloths which they told me was okay. One night we came back to a breaker blown and a light fixture was scorched black like it had almost caught fire. The apartment smelled burnt the rest of our stay which was concerning.

Hi Addison, We are an agency managing the apt for the owner. We are very sorry that your felt frustrated by the deposit issue that finally was not retained. After your stay, we noticed stains on the flooring of the apartment. In case of possible damages we always contact the guest to discuss the issue before taking a decision. We sent you a mail right away. Additionally, VRBO procedure requires hosts to signal a possible problem. It does not mean any funds will be retained. Once we received your reply you saying that it was probably water from the clothes put to dry, we reached out to our colleague to verify the flooring again after a few days. She confirmed that effectively, there were no stains anymore. We then sent you a message confirming this and refunded your security deposit. We understand that the procedure can be stressing for the guest. Unfortunately it is out of our power to modify it. As far as the fuse was concerned, it can happen at any time to anyone. Had we been informed about it, we would have sent someone over to have it repaired. Please know that it was repaired during the clean after your stay and the light was replaced. You will understand, as an agency, our role is to be an intermediary between the guest and the host. I am sure you would appreciate that we care about apts if you were an owner.

räumlich entspanntes Wohnen

Apartment enthält 2 gut voneinander getrennte Schlaf- und Badeinheiten. Dazwischen liegen dann sozusagen die Gemeinschaftsräume, Küche und living. Apartment war sauber, in manchen Ecken sollte einmal Staub gewischt werden. Kleinere Installationen in den Bädern, wie Handtuchhalter oder kleine Ablage über dem Waschtisch, müssten wieder einmal richtig befestigt werden. Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Mit dem großzügigen Glastisch hat man einen recht behaglichen Mittelpunkt in der Wohnung. Kleines Minus: starker Regen macht sich vom Geräusch her ebenso stark bemerkbar, weil sich der Schall vom mit Zink bedeckten Dach direkt in der Wohnung bemerkbar macht. Regnet es nicht, ist die Wohnung sehr ruhig. Und das Haus ist ebenfalls ruhig. Wir fanden, es ist eine Wohnung, in die man immer wieder zurückkehren mag. Was wir auch in vier Wochen schon wieder tun.

We selected this property because of its great location close to Arenes de Lutece, Pantheon, Mosque of Paris, Jardin des Plantes garden, Jussieu University, the apartment coziness and peaceful ambiance.

It is the main residence of the owner. He rents when going to his secondary residence. For a guest, renting a main residence is a warranty of high quality : it is always maintained at top level. Obvioulsy, the owner puts away personal belonging. There is more than enough space available for guests.
