Oceanfront Duck Key Townhouse - Sleeps 6

Come and enjoy Duck Key in the Florida Keys, known as America's Caribbean, a lush shangri-la with tropical vegetation and turquoise waters. Enjoy the day fishing from the dock, Lake Lucille, the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico, all interconnected in the sunny Florida Keys. This bit of the American Caribbean is teeming with fish. Walk out your back door to our lanai and enjoy your coffee or a cocktail. On several occasions we have enjoyed manatees off our lanai. Either rent a fishing pole or bring yours and fish right off the dock also steps away from our lanai.

Snorkeling, deep sea fishing, jet skiing or just plain doing nothin' is your choice. Perhaps, you would like to rent a bike and enjoy the scenery the island has to offer. We have a company we recommend that will drop off bikes and kayaks for rentals. Our villa is comfortably decorated with a tropical Florida Keys decor. Either choose to cook and eat in or visit one of the many world class restaurants & bars the middle Florida Keys has to offer. Our kitchen offers everything for the gourmet cook. Need help choosing some restaurants and sites to visit? We will share our favorites with you. Our unit is located near the geographic center of the Florida Keys at mile marker 61. Key West is 61 miles South, Key Largo is 40 miles North, perfect for day trips to see everything in between that the Florida Keys has to offer. Sometimes you don't know what to expect when you rent through VBRO, but from us you can expect the best!!

We offer the cleanest well kept villa in the Florida Keys. After every stay the villa is completely cleaned and sanitized down to the remote control in each room.

Duck Key 2023

It seems over the top to give five stars for every category, but honestly, this is the way the three of us felt about the property. It was located so close to the friends we were visiting, it was beautiful and spacious, and had every comfort we needed. I was in charge this year with making the reservation, and the registration process was totally easy. Check-In was the easiest of all. Then, if we had any questions, it was super easy to communicate with the owners. We will definitely want to stay at this property again! Thank you for the great memories!

Perfect family getaway

The property was very clean, 2 thumbs up to cleaning team. Beautifully decorated and an ideal location, middle of Keys. We were able to explore several beaches. Only item to keep in mind is that restrooms are on 2nd floor only, in case you have some with mobility limitations.

Rough start with several issues

We had several issues with this property. Communication was very poor with the manager/owner. I had sent several messages before our arrival asking about swim towels, but received no response. I sent another message about arrival instructions the week before our arrival asking about access to the property.We were going to be on a cruise without WiFi, and I was concerned we would not have WiFi at the port when we disembarked. I had to call VRBO the morning we were arriving, as I had received no information on how to access the property. Customer service attempted to call the manager/owner on 2 different numbers without luck. Finally I did receive a text from the manager/owner with the details. The sheets and bedding on the bed in master bedroom was damp. Initially we thought it felt cold from the A/C. When my husband and I got into bed, we realized the sheets at the bottom of the bed were still very damp, making the rest of the bedding damp. So we had to take all the bedding off and dry it, before we could go to bed. There was a big cockroach in the master bedroom the first night. We had been unable to open the door to the balcony, so we think it must have been in the house prior to our arrival. We managed to get rid of it! The 1st morning after our arrival, our party of 4 adults were sat at the pool, outside. 2 members of the Hawks Key properties approached us asking us to leave. This VRBO rental is NOT part of Hawks Key and all amenities are off limits. So no pool.

Host Cancelled Less Than 6 Hours Before Arrival on Mother's Day!

Host cancelled at 10:02am on the day of arrival (May 6, 2022). Do NOT rely on this host to honor your reservation. Reserved this location as a family vacation and Mother's Day gift to my wife. Spent very stressful morning and afternoon seeking alternative accommodation while en-route with crying wife. Salvaged trip, but then spent months getting VRBO to honor its commitment to pay for our alternative accommodation. Do not put yourself through this hell. Find a reliable host.

Valuable Family Time

The house at Duck Key was perfect for our family of four adults. We enjoyed cooking in a little, time at the pool, exploring the islands, and treasuring God's beautiful handiwork in the Florida Keys.

Nice Accommodations

The accommodations were nice. We did have some unexpected loud neighbors that kept us up one night because the units are all joined together, and it was impossible to sleep. The property manager's communication and response time with us could have been better.

Nice Place to Stay

This was a nice condo to stay in. Location was great. Condo was clean. Only 1 small complaint. The sofa was extremely uncomfortable. Will stay here again when in the area.

Beautiful location

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The unit was beautifully decorated. Our only issue was that although we were told to start a load of pool towels when we were leaving, we did not have access to the pool. We sent a message asking about pool access and never received a response. Luckily, we had not planned to spend a lot of time at the pool. Our only other comment was that the steps seem like a tripping hazard since the bullnose edge sits up higher than the stair treads.

Nice little townhouse

We spent two months traveling all over Florida using mostly VRBO. Nice location right by the pool and very relaxing decks. Just wish there was a bathroom on the first floor

This property was so clean, you didn't even think twice! The entire property surrounding you was very clean and kept up. Beautiful pool too. We had a chilly weekend that we came and it seemed the heat didn't work but I think there's just a switch that needs to be turned on. I told the owners not to worry, that we stayed warm enough and we did.

Great Location & Visit

Our family took a road trip to the keys and made a stop of three nights at the property. The location was perfect for what we wanted, and there were multiple dining options within 10 minutes or so. I texted the property owner/manager with a question regarding pool access, and still have not gotten a response. The unit was clean and was appropriately stocked as advertised. The coffee machine did have a broken spring and a carafe that was not the same brand. I was still able to make it work thankfully. We also came across small roaches in the kitchen area. We live in Florida so I know how that goes, but the property may need a pest control visit. We would not hesitate to recommend nevertheless. Great views and overall quiet neighbors.
