Newly remodeled cottage at U.P. Sunrise Cottages resort has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths.

Fully equipped kitchen. Linens and towels. Central A/C. Fast Wi-Fi. Smart TV. Seasonal recreational activities include playground, aquapark, kayaks, SUPs, firepits, lawn games.

Requires a signed rental agreement and a $250 security deposit hold placed directly with property.

Sleeping Arrangements:

Master bedroom: Queen bed (master bath)
Bedroom 2: two twin beds
Bedroom 3: two twin beds

Bathrooms:

Full bath with tub/shower off master bedroom
3/4 bath with shower

Snowmobile and ORV enthusiasts: Ride less than a mile to Trail 8. Trailer parking available.

We are about an hour drive from Munising and the Pictured Rocks boat tours, 35 minutes from Marquette, and about 10 minutes from Gwinn, where there is a full grocery, two dollar stores, and several restaurants.

Watch the sun come up with a warm cup of coffee, relax while the kids play at the beach, and take advantage of the areas many attractions and local restaurants! We want you to feel right at home and have an amazing family vacation with us!

Just what we needed

My husband and I, along with his mother, enjoyed a long weekend in a 2 bed 2 bath cottage. Fully equipped kitchen and charcoal grill were great for eating in. The peaceful lake was quite relaxing. Comfy beds and updated interior were a plus. Not too far from Marquette and a game at the dome at NMU.

Great for people with small children

Great beach area and toys provided as well as two fire pits. The queen size bed was comfortable. The kitchen well stocked. The wifi reliable and they have a nice small TV. The rental is dated and need some TLC and the couch and chair extremely old and worn. I have had hives since the first day in the rental, I am not sure if it is the laundry soap they used, or from sitting on that couch or what caused it. We were there the 6th-10th and loud fireworks went off every night around 11:30. One night someone a few houses down was swearing at them to stop doing it. Voices carry well across lakes. We booked this rental because it was a "family" getaway. The beach area is ideal for people with young children. My granddaughter had Covid, so half my family couldn't join us. The owners seemed very nice and welcoming, but were not willing to let us cancel that late. Overall, I would recommend it if you are looking for a lake experience and aren't picky about the interior.

Great Lake Getaway

We had such a wonderful stay. The lake is absolutely beautiful and great for swimming. The inflatable structure was amazing, as were the kayaks, SUP, and other water toys available right there at the sand beach. Cabin was clean and comfortable and the owners have some great future plans for the property. We can't wait to come back!

We only spent the weekend and the property is so cute. Angie, the owner, is super friendly. The cabin was well stocked for our stay.

Hi, we are the Martin family! In May 2021, we purchased the Northern Lights Lakeside Resort in Little Lake, Michigan, and are reopening the resort as the U.P. Sunrise Cottages.

We live with our three daughters and one superhero son in Gwinn, MI. We are not true born-and-raised Yoopers, but all four of our children are, and you can tell by the way the put on their swimsuits and go play in the snow when the sun comes out and it breaks 45 degrees in the spring. After spending 16 years working with teenagers in the local area, we decided our family was ready for a new adventure, so we purchased the Northern Lights resort from our friends, the Hipskys. The resort is in a beautiful location, with a beach and 300 feet of lakefront on Farmer Lake. Looking across the lake toward the east, we get some beautiful sunrises above the trees.

We are excited to be able to spend time at this gorgeous property, and look forward to sharing it with our guests! Whether you want to relax and enjoy the peaceful lakefront, or take advantage of the area’s many attractions, we are sure this spot is going to be wonderful for your family! We can’t wait to meet you!
