Perfect Peaceful Beach Getaway! Snowbirds Welcome!

Our Beach Bungalow is the perfect place for a beach getaway! Come enjoy Alabama's beaches the way they used to be. The Rookery unit 1701 is located 14 miles down Fort Morgan Road, away from all the high-rise condos in Gulf Shores. You can enjoy uncrowded beaches, nature trails, wildlife, and plenty of room to relax. Just a short 10 min walk to the beach!

Our Beach Bungalow is the perfect spot for your beach vacation! This cute beach cottage has hardwood floors throughout, comfortable seating, 3 flat screen TVs with over 140 HD channels, games for the kids, DVDs to enjoy, free wireless internet, and much more! The master bedroom has a king sized bed and private bathroom. The guest bedroom has a queen sized bed and bedroom #3 has 2 sets of full/twin bunks. There is plenty of space for families of all sizes! Bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, and kitchen towels are provided. A few extras are added in to make our guests feel at home (starter supplies of garbage bags, dish soap, laundry packs, toilet paper, and paper towels). The unit has a full sized washer and dryer to make laundry easy.

There are 2 swimming pools and a spa to enjoy. The largest pool is a zero entry pool that is perfect for splashing, sunbathing, and swimming. The pool is just steps away from your front porch. Golf carts are allowed, so bring one and enjoy easy access to the beach or rent one when you get here! BBQ grills and picnic tables are scattered throughout The Rookery, so bring your charcoal and grill out. There is a large tennis court and lots of space to park your boat or golf cart.

There is plenty to keep you busy in the area. There are several golf courses to choose from, Wave Runner Rentals, Water Parks, Gulf Coast Zoo, Putt Putt Golf, Dinner Cruises, Shopping at the Outlet Malls and The Wharf, Various Festivals (seasonal) & Night Life. Tour historic Fort Morgan just a few miles away or take the ferry over to Dauphin Island for a visit to the Dauphin Island Estuary. Several restaurants, a marina and boat dock are nearby. Nearby along Fort Morgan Road is the scenic Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge.. a haven for nature lovers.

Our bungalow is a non-smoking unit. Pets are not allowed.

Family Vacay

The duplex had plenty of room and super comfortable for our teenagers and toddler. The property is well taken care of and super quiet. A golf cart is a great way to get to and from the beach access since you have to cross a busy highway.

Perfect Escape

This is our second time at this property with our family of 7. It is prefect! We love the location because we prefer a less crowded beach. Love that it is right by the pool. Plenty of space and communication with the host is so easy and quick! We will stay yet again!

Beautiful beach house in the Rookery Neighborhood

Of all the houses my group booked in the Rookery this one was the nicest! We had a wonderful stay and the hosts were excellently helpful. This house is very close to the pool and tennis court in the neighborhood (court does have pickleball lines). The beach is about a half mile away and can be walked to! Would love to stay here again.

Excellent house for our group of 10

Excellent place to stay that was close to the beach. We loved being able to have all of the kids (6 teenagers) stay in one room together! Clean house and very, very close to the swimming pool. Beautiful scenery around the home and very easy to get to the beach.

Excellent Snowbird Location

This was the perfect place to stay for our snowbird winter. We enjoyed it so much we booked again for next year. It is the place we had been looking for. The owners were quick to address a couple of small issues we had. The pool area is great and was close by which was great when the grandchildren came to visit. The only things I would warn about is the pool is NOT heated and the gnats can be a real pain at certain times. Highly recommend though.

Wonderful Experience!

I booked with Katie after reading the great reviews from other families and I'm so glad we did! The home was clean, organized, and even nicer than the pictures do it justice. All of the amenities we could have needed were there. The pool was clean and well kept, the subdivision was clean and quiet. Our ONLY complaint was the pool and that was no ones fault at all. It was too hot to swim in, but thats because temperatures have been in the upper 90's with "real feel" of over 100 each day. There was no way to keep it cool. So we spent all our time on the beach and in the ocean where the currents were nice and cool. We stayed for a week at the end of July with our 4 children (Ages 21, 14, 12 and 6) and my mother in law. We were a short 3 minute drive to the beach which, if you went earlier in the morning, had ample parking in the public lot. We were able to walk directly off the end of the boardwalk and have a spot for our canopy each day. It was perfect for my mother in law who has trouble walking long distances. We had Walmart deliver our groceries, so we never even had to go grocery shopping...I highly recommend. We got fresh seafood at the Seafood Market you'll pass as you leave Gulf Shores for one of our meals and it was fantastic! This stay was everything we could have hoped for. You won't regret choosing this location.

Excellent getaway spot!

We had so much fun and such a great stay at the Bama Beach Bungalow! Convenient location for public beach access, Fort Morgan Marina, and the Mobile Bay Ferry. Enjoyed having the pool so close to the house—this was great for our little guy! We would definitely return!

Cozy little spot

Very clean and in a great location. About a 45 second drive to the beach. I will be staying here the next time we come to Gulf Shores.

Great for my large family Spring Break

This house was perfect for my family of 7. Everyone had their own bed (we have 5 kids). We walked to the beach - my youngest is 5 so it was an ok walk for my kids and our preferred way to access the beach. You can drive and park as well. You can rent a golf cart but we just walked. It was very clean and Katie was very responsive! It’s a great location to the pool. Easy trip in to Gulf Shores and/or Orange Beach for activities. The Dollar General just down the road is well stocked. The no-see-ums are TERRIBLE late afternoon /early evening…so take bug spray. But…it’s a nature preserve area so not unexpected. When we walked to the beach we were able to setup in a spot where there were NO people near us. It was perfect! If you are looking for a remote, low key, no frills, quiet beach vacation this is it! We cooked in the kitchen and grilled most nights. The full size washer and dryer were awesome! There was a storage Pod set up right outside our unit and boats and construction equipment directly across - didn’t bother us but you’re not surrounded by palm trees if that’s what you’re looking for. It was a great value and comfortable clean accommodations for our vacation! We left very pleased.

Neat place to stay!

Our family enjoyed our time here. Very nice place. Close access to pool and beach. We really enjoyed our stay. It was nice being outside of gulf shores, where it's so busy, but still in the same area.

Perfect

Our family of 6 stayed at this property and loved it. We had originally booked it for two other adults to join us and they ended up not coming however, it still would have been plenty of space for all of us. The property was equipped with all the essentials we needed for our week trip and Katie the owner was amazing to work with. We were close to the ocean and also enjoyed that sitting on the porch we saw several creatures such as armadillo, frogs, lizards, and even a few snakes. Right around the corner is a small pond that we all enjoyed watching the little alligators. Thank you again for a great vacation location!

This place was so peaceful and cozy. Make sure you have everything you because everything is mostly 20 mins out. Neighbors were sweet. My family and I enjoyed ourselves. Thank you for having us.
