Enjoy Michigan's beautiful four seasons in this updated cottage home located close to Lake Superior and the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. *VRBO details this property 'on the lake' but it is across the road from Lake Superior.

Featuring 3 bedrooms, you will have plenty of space to rest after your outdoor adventures. Large primary bedroom outfitted with flat screen TV with Roku. Kids will love the bedroom with twin-over-full bunk beds.

Relax in the spacious living room featuring a flat screen SMART TV.

Open clean kitchen offers dining table and seating, full fridge and stove/oven.

Full bathroom with tub/shower combo is bright and newly updated.
Fire pit and gas grill. Skiers and Snowmobilers, rest assured the house has room for your gear!
Large entryway with locker hooks for hanging. Large parking area available for trailers and snowmobiles. Access to local snowmobile trails are 5 miles in either direction from the cottage, and would require trailering.

Used Porcupine Place as our base for hiking the Porcupine Mtn SP and exploring the area. Property was clean, well eqipped, and gave us a good location for the Porkies, Ontanogan, and other sites. We enjoyed our stay.

This property was perfectly located for what we needed. On a 2 week upper Michigan circle tour. Came in on the Ss Badger and camped a few nights in Wisconsin than wanted a good camp location to hike Porcupine mtn and than Kewanee. Than on our way toward Marquette to Sault St Marie finishing Drummond island over the Mackinaw bridge through the sunrise side of the lower.My only critic on the property was I specifically inquired if they had a bathtub, which they do but assumed the drain plug worked so I could soak in a tub at the end of the day. It did not work. Everything else was perfect!

The location was perfect a trip back “home”, I spent a lot of time just down the road at my grandparents house in the summer on the Cranberry river. We spent the day in the Porcupine mountains, and an evening on the beach for sunset and into the night. The house was perfect for us to make some memories of our own while sharing things I remembered growing up.

Clean and well stocked

This property was in perfect order and had the best stocked kitchen! We brought food to cook during our stay and this kitchen had everything we needed. Incredibly clean.

Great home base

Enjoyed exploring the porcupine mountains and downtown Ontonagon. The inside of the house was perfect for our family of 5, and was spotless and had everything we needed. Sadly there were so many flies outside, so we didn’t really get to take advantage of the yard games. It’s on a busy-ish road, so not as peaceful as I was hoping for. But it was a good home base for our day trips. Loved the smart TV- it was nice to watch shows on Netflix together after a long day of hiking and exploring.

Porcupine Getaway

Porcupine Place was easy to get to and conveniently located near a grocery store and gas station. The house is clean and comfortable, and the kitchen is well stocked with appliances for a weekend of hiking!

Perfect home for a family vacation

This was a perfect place for me, my son, his wife and their two children, ages 7 and 10, to get away together for a few days after Christmas. Despite having to change our outdoor plans somewhat due to rather lousy rainy weather, there were games to play and puzzles to put together and a well stocked kitchen where we made our meals together. And we still worked in several nearby, beautiful outdoor hikes, even if it was slushy. We enjoyed every minute.

Great location

This was exactly what we needed to explore the area. The house was the perfect amount of space and had what we needed. The kids loved playing in the yard and a short distance to the beach and the Porcupine mountains. We loved the area.

Porcupine Place is the place to stay

In Ontonagon, there won't be a better place for the price than Porcupine Place. The home is cozy with it's remodeled updated look, the property and location is great! Our host gave clear and simple instructions for check in. Oh, and it's so close to the State Park. Great experience!

Home to hike from

Very clean very spacious wonderful beds and bedding. I had some trouble figuring out the thermostat at first but there was a heater in the one bedroom and the bathroom. Great proximity to the North Country Trail and the other trails in the Porkies. A very pleasant stay.
