The Oakland North está disponible para alquilar solo para adultos maduros, responsables y respetuosos. Si está buscando alquilar un lugar para organizar una fiesta de cualquier tipo, no considere el Oakland North. Pedimos a todos nuestros huéspedes que sean muy considerados con nuestros vecinos y que mantengan los niveles de voz y música al mínimo. El Oakland North es un edificio histórico que fue construido en 1927 y originalmente conocido como Mendelson's Oakland Hotel. En la década de 1970 se convirtió en dos residencias separadas y la mitad norte ofrece más de 2200 pies cuadrados de hermoso espacio habitable. Hay cuatro habitaciones espaciosas (dos camas queen, una cama matrimonial y la cuarta habitación tiene dos juegos de literas gemelas) con dos baños completos completamente remodelados.

El Oakland North se ha mantenido impecablemente y cuenta con todos los detalles arquitectónicos originales de una época pasada, incluidos techos de diez pies de alto, ventanas arqueadas de doble hoja con luces verdaderamente divididas, pisos de madera de roble originales en todo el primer piso, molduras de carpintería en toda la superficie con respiraderos operables de popa sobre las puertas del dormitorio del segundo piso. Wonderful place to stay!

My family and I stayed at this property and had a wonderful time! The location is unbeatable- 2 minute walk to North Beach and an easy walk into town. The house comfortably fit 7 adults and 2 children and was very clean. The living room was spacious and the kitchen was updated. The back deck made for a great second outdoor hang out for the family. The host was easy to communicate with and the check in/out process was seamless and easy. Would stay again!

Wedding bliss

We flew in from NYS for a weekend family wedding and the house was perfect to accommodate the 7 of us. It had plenty of towels for everyone! The house was spacious, clean and tons of couches to relax and watch some weekend college football before our family wedding. We would definitely rent here again should we come to town again!

Perfect Getaway

The Oakland North was perfect for our group of three couples and four teenage girls. The girls loved being together in the bunk bed room. The beautiful beach is just a block or so away. Fun shopping and restaurants nearby. We spent part of a day in Saugatuck which is just a short 20 minute drive north. Highly recommend!

Oakland North is a beautiful, historic, yet renovated home. It had everything. We can see the lake from the front on the house.....so sunsets were spectacular. Plus it's not many steps to slip down the the beach concession for a blue moon ice cream cone!! Highly recomment.

Best rental ever!

The house was just beautiful and had everything you could need. It was large, beautiful and homey. The kitchen and appliances, as well as the upgraded bathrooms were amazing. The host was very communicative and available for anything we might need but they supplied more than we needed. We will definitely be back and rent again. It was a short walk to the beach and close to restaurants, brewpubs and the other places like Saugatuck and Douglas that we like to visit. South Haven has such a nice beach as well as great restaurants, shops and bars. We loved the bakery right down the street.

This property is right across the street from North Beach in South Haven, Michigan. This is our second year renting in South Haven. We love this area - so much to do. This neighborhood is safe, quiet and close to the beach, playgrounds and marina. The house is a renovated 1927 hotel. New and old together in this property. 4 BR upstairs. 3 Bath. Works for a crowd. We had 9 people - extended family group.

Perfect location in a Beautiful Home

We were 2 families of 5 with children ages of 11-18 and this home lent itself perfectly to accommodate all of them. The home is full of charm and was perfectly appointed with all you’d need. I especially enjoyed all of the extra bedding and towels on sight and fans in the bedrooms. The home is located perfectly between the town and the beach. Very walkable. The kids were able to “do their own thing” while still being close by. Communication with Michael was easy and he was very responsive. If we could give this home 10 stars we would. We hope to be back again next year!

Perfect house!

The Oakland North is the perfect place for a great getaway! The house has so much history and charm, not to mention that it is stocked with more than just the basics, including toys and games that kept us entertained for hours. Both the front and back of the home have beautiful views, and the back deck is the perfect place to gather at the end of a fun filled day. The beach and the marina are just short (minute or two) walks from the house (both literally right down the road). The owners are amazing as well and provided great and quick feedback and tips as we got ready for our trip. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation home and/or location. In fact, just a few days after we got back from our trip, we booked the same house for our vacation next summer!

Beautiful, comfortable and well placed

We love staying at the Oakland North! We have stayed here before and love this place. The owners are welcoming and responsive and their home is gorgeous, cozy and luxurious. The place is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, entertaining, and relaxing. Out the front door is a view of Lake Michigan and gorgeous sunsets over the lake, and out the back is a view of the marina and the town across the river. There are also cozy outdoor spaces for relaxing both front and back. The neighborhood is awesome for walks, with the beach and the riverwalk right outside. This home is also in easy walking distance from a beautiful park, the marina and charming downtown South Haven. If you're more adventurous, there are also a number of great parks and trails nearby. We were lucky enough to catch the end of the fall color on this trip and took a leisurely hike in a nearby nature preserve - truly beautiful! We look forward to our next trip to South Haven! Great Location, Clean and Tidy

Very cute place to stay with easy access to beach and downtown South Haven. Family room into kitchen set up was great. Front patio area was a huge bonus to sit out with drinks and watch sunset. Very clean and tidy. Definitely would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at this house. There was plenty of room for everybody! If and when you get new beds I would get king beds in my opinion. We are use to king beds so the beds seemed small. The great thing is your right down the street from Lake Michigan (like 1 min)! This place is awesome!

Great place for a family vacation

We (and our kids) loved the Oakland North! Great location (short walk to a park and even shorter walk to the beach), and great space for children to play both inside and outside. Ideal sleeping setup for families, as there are multiple rooms that can accommodate couples and our kids loved the bunk beds!

The Oakland

Michael is a wonderful host. We had a issue with dirty dishes but it was probably done by previous renters. Michael didn’t know about it till we told him. It is a wonderful location and a great place to stay. I would stay there again.

We were not informed that the dishes were dirty until the night before the guests were checking out. We ask each of our guests to let us know if there is a problem immediately so we can do whatever it takes to make it right. We would have willingly asked our cleaning service to go back and rewash all of the dishes at the guests convenience. As soon as this guest checked out, I had our cleaning service remove all dishes, glassware, pots, pans, etc., rewash and dry them by hand, wipe out all cabinets and put them all back in the cabinets. I then ordered a new Frigidaire Gallery Stainless Steel dishwasher which is scheduled to be installed on Saturday, August 8, 2020. We do our very best to provide clean accommodations. We ask our guests to help us in this effort by having them wash and put away all dishes, , glassware, pots, pans, etc. prior to checking out so our cleaning service can concentrate on house cleaning and laundry and not doing dishes. The challenge with this approach is whether the previous guests took the time to make sure all of the dishes are completely clean prior to putting them back in the cabinets. When the cleaning service has their hands full with house cleaning, they may not always remember to take a minute and check if all of the dishes are completely clean. I am hoping that the new dishwasher will help with this as well. Thanks for reading this review and my response. Great family house!

We really enjoyed our long weekend at this house with some of our kids and grandkids ! Lots of room to spread out. We loved the history of the house and the character. So close to the beach we walked there a few times each day and walked to Bunde’s Bakery every morning. Owner was always quick to respond to questions! Very clean too!

We are parents of four teenagers. We wanted a beach house to escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life and focus on family.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Historic Monroe Park is our neighborhood which is directly adjacent to the North Beach on South Haven's North Shore. The key to this location is there are no huge hills nor endless staircases to climb up and down when going to and from the beach. Kind of an important thing to remember with small children and grandparents who want to join you down at the waters edge.

We enjoy the easy access to the North Beach as well as the less than ten minute walk to downtown South Haven. Once the groceries are purchased, there is no need for your car again. Even if you do need something from the store, you can walk two blocks to North Side Memories which is a small, privately owned convenience store and deli. We have said it so many times but it is true... once you cross the draw bridge, it feels as though all of life's struggles seem to be lifted. We hope you are able to experience the same feeling!
