The Black Pearl receives its name from being located right on the Black River leading out to beautiful Lake Michigan along with the fun industrial and lake vibe. The Black Pearl is located within the Colonial Condominiums. The Colonial Condominiums were originally built in the early 1900's as a hotel. It offers the perfect blend of historic charm and modern convenience in beautiful South Haven. Located within walking distance to the pristine beaches of Lake Michigan, the Colonial Condominiums are centrally located for easy access to local restaurants, shopping and outdoor recreation.

The Black Pearl includes:
-Flat screen tv
-Wireless Internet provided by the association
-Coin operated laundry in basement
-Nearby off-site parking for 3 vehicles
-Weekly rentals

The condo was remodeled and combines both unit 10 & 11. The entrance into the unit is through unit 10. The Black Pearl features:

-2 bedrooms
-2 full bathrooms
-High ceilings
-3 queen-sized beds
-Full kitchen
-Communal large deck on the Black River and overlooking Lake Michigan
*all condos, buildings and decks are non-smoking

Please note that due to the Black Pearl being located in downtown, Summer evenings and some weekends in the Spring and Fall can get a bit noisy.

Very nice place. Adorable decor, we were very welcomed and enjoyed our too short stay. Parking was a challenge. Off site in a snow covered and slippery lot.

Due to cold weather and constant rain we stayed inside the condo more than planned. We found the furniture in the living area very uncomfortable and less than adequate for four adults. The TV was mounted so high we had to crane our necks to watch it. We were asked not to move any furniture so all four of us couldn’t watch the TV at the same time.The bedrooms and baths were lovely and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped and the welcome bag was much appreciated.

We had a lovely stay at this condo! It was sparkling clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The gifted bottle of wine and snacks were lovely and greatly appreciated! Our only hiccup is that the wi-fi was not cooperating so no TVs would work. Our cell phones and tablets connected one day and then not the following again. Hosts were very communicative about the issues but it was not fully resolved before our weekend was over. I’m sure this was an isolated incident and do recommend staying at this great property!!

Our guests enjoyed the condo very much. Their young boys loved the dingy bed! The location, parking and check in was perfect. The host was very helpful and a delight to work with.

Great location to both beaches/lighthouses and walking distance to downtown SH. The condo was tastefully decorated with a lake theme. Beds were very comfortable! Nice furniture and kitchen area had ample seating around the bar and table for the four of us. We will definitely book again. Stephanie provided info for condo and surrounding cities. Only hiccup was the condo door keypad didn’t work (likely low battery),but access to keys so no issue. Parking was very close to the building. Thanks for the nice stay!

Great location and nice open living/dining/kitchen area. Kitchen was generously provisioned and host was very responsive. Only a couple of less than ideal issues: the property lists 3 queen beds to sleep 6, but the beds are full size not measuring as the standard queen, making sleeping 6 people uncomfortable; the living room furniture is stylish and matches the seafaring decor, but not at all comfortable and insufficient for 6 people to sit or lounge. I still highly recommend for groups of 2-4 as you can walk to nearly everything and sitting on the shared deck and watching the boats in the harbor is lovely. The boat bunk was a real hit with the kids for lounging.

Excellent location

The property was very nice and in an excellent location. The Property Manager was very responsive through the process. We also really enjoyed the deck to watch the boats come and go. One item that should be addressed is the charcoal grill which was mentioned in the location description. The one that was available is very tiny and should be upgraded for sure.

The condo is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect - close to restaurants, shopping, beach, kayaking, bike trail. We enjoyed the deck in the mornings to relax and watch the boats. A stunning place with all the accommodations. Thank you!

Black Pearl Escape

The pictures online don't do this place justice! It is beautiful decorated. The hosts have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. It's perfectly located. Close to everything! Both North beach and South beach are easily walkable. We will make this an annual destination!

Awesome place

Place was modern and clean. Close walking distance to nearly everything youd want. The only thing that could have been improved was to add black out curtains in the bedrooms. You are downtown and close to everything. We would stay here again.

Hello and thank you for considering staying at The Black Pearl! We are the Williamsons (Brandon & Stephanie) and grew up right on the boarder of Michigan and Indiana. Growing up, both of our families visited Lake Michigan often so we naturally fell in love with the lake and surrounding beach towns. We are high school sweethearts and tied the knot in 2014. We absolutely love traveling and meeting new people and experiencing other cultures. Both of us are in customer service related roles and strive to provide the best experience. We decided to purchase this home as every weekend we would find ourselves in the beach towns and beaches of Lake Michigan. Life can become busy and hectic and for me there is no better way to relax then hearing the waves crash on the shore line and the sand between my toes. This property was previously listed with Vrbo and received excellent reviews and we look to continue offering the same exceptional experience.

The Black Pearl is perfectly located within a short walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. South Haven has many wonderful local shops and restaurants. The community deck offers individuals to sit and watch the boats coming and going from Lake Michigan and watch the sunset. The condo itself has been beautifully updated with modern conveniences.
