Property is just a short walk to historic Jamestown village restaurants, shops, grocery store, playground and library. Mackerel Cove Beach is a 3 minute drive or 20 min walk away. Great place for a tranquil vacation or a small family gathering. No parties or events permitted.

Great stay in Jamesport

Had a wonderful ladies weekend at this property. The house was perfect for our getaway. Clean and nicely decorated. We enjoyed cocktails on the porch nightly. Walking distance to town, restaurants and ferry landing. Beds could have benefitted from better mattresses or a good mattress pad. But overall a very pleasant stay.

Perfect beach stay and close to Newport!

We stayed here for a few days for our trip to Newport and loved how close it was to Newport but fell in love with the town of Jamestown. The house was close to everything in town, and Genevieve was so accommodating! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Pleasant beautiful home

This house was the perfect house for our family. Quiet neighborhood, everything we needed close by in the house was the perfect size, clean and comfortable.

Great stay at Cherrystone

This place was perfect—even better than the photos! Very charming and decorated with an artist’s eye. It was also really well-appointed, with everything we could possibly need. The road it’s on is a little busy, but it wasn’t an issue. We would definitely come back to Cherrystone!

Cherrystone

We truly enjoyed the property. The location was great and loved the indoor and outdoor environment. It was roomy enough for my family of five and the kids like their own space. Genevieve was helpful when little issues arose and was very attentive. We will definitely be back next summer. Thank you!!!!

Enjoyed our stay

We had a full house at this quaint updated cottage and it worked out great for us. Nice beds, fluffy towels and plenty of common area space for the group. The cottage was nicely equipped and supplied for our stay. The one full bath is a challenge for showers but we didn't have much trouble making it work. Restaurants and a grocery are within walking distance for most folks and Newport is only a few minutes away. It was great to be able to visit Newport without being immersed in the tourist madness 24/7. This was my first VRBO and I wouldn't hesitate to book with Genevieve again👍😁

Close to everything

This house is centrally located in the lovely town of Jamestown. Supermarket, bakery, fabulous ice cream store, great restaurants, enticing bookstore, hardware, Jamestown-Newport ferry all within walking distance. The house is old and the stairs are steep but everything you could possibly need is provided. There are air conditioning units in the upstairs bedroom windows; the downstairs is cooled with ceiling fans. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful - we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We had a blast!

Wonderful Place!

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage--it's truly charming! The cottage was centrally located and we were glad to be able to walk to so many places. A cafe, grocery store, ice cream shop, and the main drag with restaurants and shops were all within 1/4 to a 1/2 mile. We also chose this cottage for its proximity to Jamestown's fantastic playground. Just a five minute walk, we visited every day. We spent a lot of time outdoors exploring the island's beautiful beaches, forts, farms, hiking paths, and other scenic sights, including the spectacular sunsets/moonrises at Beavertail! The closest beaches are 10-15 minute walks away (East Ferry and Mackeral Cove)-both are great for younger kids. The cottage was quite comfortable for our family of three. The beds were comfortable, the linens were high quality, the kitchen had everything we needed. The a/cs on the 2nd floor kept the bedrooms cold. The listing does not note that there is no a/c on the first floor; however, Genevieve graciously installed one at our request. It was much appreciated as the weather was unusually hot. We would love to stay here again!

Not quite what we expected…

I certainly do not wish to take away from the 5 star reviews left before our stay, however, had I known some specifics prior to booking, I’m not sure I would have stayed here. Each family dynamic is different and this may be the perfect home for some but it was unfortunately not what we expected. I will start with the positives, though. The owners/property managers were very attentive and quick to respond when a need came up. The outdoor space is also lovely. Exquisite landscaping, freshly paved driveway, and a nice deck as well as front porch. The location is also perfect. An easy walk to local bakeries (Slice of Heaven, Village Hearth) and other restaurants, quick walk to the playground which was a blast for my sons and then a short drive to the market and to the beach (Mackerel Cove is the best!). The interior of the home, however, was much older than we anticipated. The stairs are not uniform heights, causing all of our guests to use more caution. And yet it still resulted in my young son falling down at one point. The sinks are also very small in both bathrooms that I couldn’t wash my face over the sink without water getting all over the bathroom floor. Lastly, there were ants. Large carpenter ants as well as small ants throughout the kitchen and dining room which made eating and cooking less pleasant. We have been vacationing on Jamestown for nearly 20 years and unfortunately for the price per week, we did not feel satisfied with our stay.

Great Location!

Very nice house located within walking distance of Jamestown attractions and short drive to Newport, Beavertail and other wonderful destinations. House is well supplied, clean and cozy.

Great week at Cherrystone!

The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and exactly what we needed to work remotely for the week, while enjoying Jamestown and Newport. When the power went out from a tropical storm, the owner was quick to reach out and check on us, even offering use of the outdoor grill and to have someone nearby drop off waters. Luckily the power came back on that night and we were able to enjoy the rest of the week with no issues. Location worked with restaurants nearby (loved Tallulahs and Simpatico) plus ice cream right next door! Thank you for sharing your home with us - we now have fond memories of Cherrystone and Jamestown to reflect on.

Wonderful house!

We really enjoyed this cozy house! It had most things we need, was very clean, and has a nice location in Jamestown. The stairs are pretty steep, so we recommend bringing or buying a baby gate for a bedroom if you have little ones. There is an amazing playground down the street.

Perfect Family Getaway

Our family was looking for a place to getaway and reconnect, and we found the perfect location! This house was quaint but yet modern. When we arrived it felt like home. From the vase of flowers on the table to the half gallon of milk in the refrigerator. The host really knew how to make us feel comfortable. The location was excellent. There is a small cafe about 5 houses down, with a Cumberland Farms in between on one side and an ice cream shop right next door on the other side. A little market within walking distance as well as a little cove about a mile away. Narraganset and Newport within 10/20 minutes of travel. Would highly recommend this house and location!

Charming Jamestown Cottage

"Cherrystone" Cottage was delightfully appointed, clean and cozy 1st floor living space, dining, and updated kitchen. The front porch space and back deck were perfect for tea or cocktails! 3 bedrooms were comfortable, a/c units kept us cool! The home is on a main rd, but best ice cream next door and convenient for all our exploration in Jamestown, Newport, Wickford, Naragansett and Matunuck! We loved our stay there and thank you for sharing your RI Cottage with us!

Had a wonderful time at the cottage Jamestown

Great trip. The cottage is kept very well and had more than enough room for a family of four. Walking distance to restaurants and the Newport/Jamestown ferry. Looking forward to going back.

Highly recommended

Sometimes you would prefer to keep this gem to yourself but Genevieve truly put 100% into every detail in the house and it’s a family vacation sweet spot. Every detail, in the new appliances, beds, books, back yard, spices -nothing was not attended to and perfectly clean.
