Guests will be conveniently close to white-sand beaches, Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, hiking and biking trails, Waterville USA, Dauphin Island Estuarium, boating, kayaking, parasailing, and canoeing activities, and more! Inside, you'll find the home dressed in cool, beachy tones and attractive décor, with lots of comfortable furniture and natural light. When you're not out on the water, hang out with friends and enjoy some ice-cold refreshments on the furnished balcony overlooking the water. You'll love catching your favorite movies and shows on the living room's flatscreen TV. The full kitchen is equipped with all the appliances and counter space you'll need to assemble a delightful meal and you can enjoy your masterpiece at the kitchen table or outside as an al-fresco meal. Take advantage of the central AC to keep the home nice and cool while you use the high-speed WiFi to research a new adventure then head out for a day of sun and sand!

Perfect location. Great views. Needs a couple of things added to furnishings, (coffee table and rugs)but not a big deal. Super comfortable. Could use a coat of outside paint, but that wouldn't stop me from staying there !

My wife and I loved the location and being able to literally walk 20 steps right to the bay side water. The sunset view was absolutely beautiful. Cannot think of anything else I could have done on this surprise trip for my wife to reign in a 30 year anniversary gift.

Best view you can get of the lagoon

The place was absolutely gorgeous about 20 ft from the water. It's small and very quaint. Everything worked pretty good. Slept very well had a great experience.

Our favorite spot.

We really enjoy this home we’ve been here a few times now but it needs lots of tlc. We’re hoping they fix and update things so the home stays and we can come again next visit! We love the location and the coziness of the place. The staircase and spots on porch could be worrisome for little kids if you’re not paying good attention. Everything else was great for us and we can’t wait to return!

Won’t be back

This was our fourth time staying at the Heron’s Nest, but unfortunately it will be our last. We love the relaxing location on Little Lagoon, and as a couple, we enjoy the cozy size of just a one-bedroom rental. However, over the years we have seen the furnishings and accommodations deteriorate greatly, and it’s clear the owners do not maintain the house. This time, the furniture was literally falling apart. The sofa looked filthy, so I put towels down before sitting on it. The dishes are a hodgepodge of cracked and broken pieces. There is only one wine glass in the house, so my husband drank his evening wine out of a coffee mug. The blinds are so broken we couldn’t open them in the bedroom to see the view. There used to be a coffee table, but that’s gone now. There used to be a hair dryer, but that’s gone too. Overall, it wouldn’t take much effort to improve the Heron’s Nest, but we will not be back until it gets some updates. It honestly felt like we were camping the accommodations were so poor.

Beach trip

When we arrived, the thermostat wouldn't work. I contacted the manager and someone was in the driveway in 20 mins. Ended up being the batteries and all worked well.Almost every shade in the house is broken and missing pieces and alot of the furniture is outdated. . Probably find a different spit in Gulf Shores for next year's beach trip.

Nightmare

We arrived just after dark on a Friday evening. The house is NOT located where the map shows it to be and there are no visible numbers on the outside to aid you in finding it. We went to two different houses before we found it. Once inside is when our nightmare began! There was NO water and we could not find the outside shut off valve to turn it back on. We began calling the number for assistance at 6:50 p.m. The person that answered was in Oregon and could barely speak English and could not understand that we had no water. She refused to help me until I sent her a picture of the hot water heater! I repeatedly asked for a call back from a local representative and was assured I would get one. I was also told that it would be Monday before they could send someone to check the water!! I called back on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. and was again told I would get a call back from a local representative immediately. At 1:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon I got a text from someone claiming to be a local representative of the company wanting to know if we had been relocated to a new rental. I explained to this person that we had been forced to leave the rental and go to hotel and NOONE had contacted us about anything. After demanding a refund, I received an email saying I would be fully refunded. This property is most likely very nice and a good place to stay, but we will not be back!

Great Place

This is our second stay at this place and we absolutely love it!! It’s so close to the water we can hear the waves crash inside which I absolutely love. The area is so quiet and peaceful. Everything is exactly as described about the place!

Overall great stay

Came in after dark. No address on house and no lights on. Light on deck where keypad was at was actually tore off the wall. We used lights on phone to be able to get in. Once in everything was clean and nice.
