Beautiful, newly renovated (2021) lakefront home on Shavehead Lake! Take out the kayaks or paddleboards for a morning ride on the calm, spring-fed lake. Bring a boat or rent one for endless days in the sun!

We recently remodeled the entire space including a brand new kitchen, master suite, bathroom, flooring, furniture, etc. The home is stunning and custom-built for families and get-togethers.

We are incredibly proud of the home and look forward to sharing it with you!

Such a great property and the lake is beautiful. The accommodations were perfect for our group. Matthew, the host was great to work with. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed a nice time on the water. The boat launch was a short walk from the house.

Our multi-generation family had a wonderful visit! We cooked all of our meals so really appreciated the well-appointed kitchen(s)! The beautiful wood table was the perfect gathering place for meals, games and arts and crafts. Such a hot week - we enjoyed the kayaks, paddle boards and Maui mat each and every day…into the evening. This clean, updated home couldn’t have been better for our crew of 12!

Great for families

Our three married sons and three grandkids joined my husband and me. The house was perfectly equipped for all ages. Kitchen had everything we needed. There was lots of space in the house and on the decks. We highly recommend the property.

Just as good as the first time

This was our group's 2nd stay at Matt and Courtney's gorgeous home and it was just as wonderful this time around. House is stocked with everything you can possibly need, lake is clean and beautiful, hosts are quickly responsive and so helpful. We have already picked our weekend for Summer 2024!

Family Get Together with a view

We stayed for 3 full days in August for a family summer get together. The property matches the pictures, with a premium location near the end of Shavehead Lake, so it is a bit calmer than the rest of the lake. The location also allows for lovely sunrises and sunsets off the multiple decks. The owner was responsive to any questions our family had and resolved any concerns in a timely manner. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

3rd stay wonderful as always!

There are many reasons my group has stayed here 3 years in a row but the most important ones are the excellent hosts and how much effort they put into making their home the perfect place to stay. The house is very well appointed inside—well stocked kitchen to cook for a large group and thoughtful toiletries in the bathrooms. Always spotlessly clean. So many fun “toys” to use in the lake—especially love the floating foam mat. WIFI accommodates many users, even when several need to work remotely during our stay. Truly love this house and recommend it without hesitation.

Everything promised and more

Pictures do not do justice to this stunning home. Our immediate impressions upon check in were that the home was sparkling clean and bright with lots of natural light from the many lake facing windows. The house and yard are very well maintained, and the quality (water cleanliness and lake bottom) of the all sports lake is excellent. It was the perfect space and ideal layout for all 3 families who attended this trip. Plenty of places to gather all together (fire pit with ample seating, huge and unique kitchen table) but also quiet spots (multi-level decks, screened porch, finished basement) for members of our party to work remotely or find a place to read. With all of the high quality gear supplied by our hosts (kayaks, paddleboards, foosball table in basement, cornhole set), our group was able to stay busy with a variety of fun activities. One piece of advice...always take your shoes when you head down to the yard as the midday sun makes the decks and connecting stairs quite hot. The kitchens (yes 2!) meant that we had plenty of refrigerator space for enough food and drinks for 12 adults for our entire 4 night visit. And the upstairs icemaker impressively kept pace with all 12 guests refilling waterbottles our entire stay. The kitchens are the most well stocked any of us have ever encountered in a rental home. (And we cooked everyday) Matthew and Courtney are the ultimate hosts! They were quickly responsive to questions during the booking process, in the time before our trip, and during our stay. We greatly appreciated the thoroughness of their house guide, as it explained how to work many appliances and the specific check out procedure, among much other useful information. Even beyond the kitchen, the house was thoughtfully stocked with very high quality products (soaps, shampoo, towels, extra bedding, etc) Our group had an excellent time and are already talking about rebooking the house for a trip next summer.

Wow !! Beautiful house & view of the lake

July 2022 This home was perfect for our family lake house vacation ages 8 to 60. Extraordinary appointments and details to the home that we well thought out. Lake was clean and inviting, Matt and Courtney also provided water-sport activities with their kayaks and paddle boards. Home was conveniently located to u pick orchards, then we came back to bake them up using all their well stocked kitchen items. Fun was had by all and we highly recommend staying here and would love to come back someday ourselves The Hurwitz family

Wonderful place!

This was a wonderful place to stay! The owners are very thoughtful and have thought of everything. The area was so beautiful, the house was amazing and our kids loved all of it! We had 2 families and we had more than enough room! We look forward to staying here again and would highly recommend to any type of group!

My wife Courtney and I purchased this home in 2020 as a vacation home which we also rent to family and friends. We live full time in Chicago, but love spending our free time on Shavehead Lake. We purchased the home in 2020, but completed renovations in 2021. We put so much love and energy into this home, we are now so excited to share it with others!
