Neighborhood:
Zilker is (in our humble opinion) the trendiest, most unique neighborhood in Austin! This is a quiet, quirky, family-friendly neighborhood located near everywhere you'd want to be--zilker park (ACL, Festivals, Trail of Lights) barton springs, trendy coffee shops, restaurants, ZACH theater, shops, downtown, events, and festivals.

Located so close to everything, you can walk everywhere when the weather is nice. However, when the weather is hot, a quick Uber or Lyft will get you where you want. Scooters are another option, but discouraged due to safety concerns and lack of helmets. Most guests will have their own cars for the convenience.

Great Neighborhood

The location of this place is amazing and allows access to all the wonderful things the city of Austin has to offer. Communication with host was great and would definitely stay again.

This house was misrepresented in the ad. The listing makes it look modern and inviting. In reality, the exterior is the worst on the block. The yard is not maintained, the shrubs, trees and grass are overgrown, the house needs painted, the windows are old and some don't even open, and there was garbage in the yard. The carport roof leaks when it rains and the attic access in the carport was open. On the interior, the king bed is broken, creating a sink hole on one side. The queen bed is very uncomfortable. Both beds were mattresses on slats, no boxspring. One of the dining chairs is broken. The couch is filthy and uncomfortable. The bathrooms do not have a vent fan, nor do the windows open. The tub fills with water when the shower is used. There are no grab bars in the shower, creating an unsafe experience. Due to no exhaust fans in the bathrooms, condensation collects on the ceiling and drips on you after a shower. The AC works, but is extremely loud. The TV has 2 white spots on the screen. The Keurig doesn't work properly. There is no dishwasher. The ice/water dispenser filter hasn't been changed. The backyard patio was covered in debris. No good kitchen knives. Night time busy street noise and nearby train. Carport light is burnt out. The laundry is in the carport, and the washer leaks. The curtains in the king bed room are moth-eaten and one of the closet doors is broken. The only Pros we have are location and the host was quick to respond to communication.

We’re sorry this guest did not enjoy their stay, especially since our communication throughout the reservation was positive and we responded quickly to every concern brought to our attention during the visit. As shown clearly in the listing photos and description, this is an older Austin property in a central location — not a newly constructed luxury home — and many of the items mentioned (street activity, train proximity, carport laundry setup, absence of a dishwasher, etc.) are openly disclosed or visible before booking. Interestingly, several of the issues referenced here were never reported during the stay, despite the guest mentioning at checkout that everything was “fine.” In contrast, after departure we discovered damage to both a faucet and an exterior closet door that required repair. We always appreciate constructive feedback and continuously improve the property, but we also believe future guests deserve context when a review combines objective observations with significant exaggeration. Fortunately, the vast majority of our guests continue to enjoy the home for what it is: a well-located, comfortable Austin stay with responsive hosting and strong value for the area.

As advertised but better!

It was truly in the perfect location, walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Barton creek and Zilker park just a short drive away. The backyard was perfect for sitting outside in the evening and enjoying the Austin nights. I highly recommend this place.

Wonderful stay

It was perfect, close to my local family, perfect for a relaxing evening. Couple of things to know, this are a bit small, not 100% sure the one room is a queen, felt more like a full size bed. I will happily stay there again. Thank you for the wonderful time.

It was a lovely home and perfect home base for exploring Zilker, South Congress, and beyond. Communications were clear and friendly. We loved morning coffee in the private, comfortable backyard most!

Charming, great location, love a private backyard

We came in to Austin to visit our daughter. We had a dinner at the house for her and her friends. Was the perfect place for it. This home was super clean, the host responsive and it felt like home. We were able to easily get everywhere we needed to go. We tried re-booking for our next trip, but it was already booked! We'll definitely try again!

Great lication but minimal supplies

The only complaint was there was no bath soap in either bathroom, limited towels and no top sheet on either bed But I had 2 dogs and the backyard was perfect for them. The location was the best part of the listing. Overall, I would recommend this home.

Cute little Barton Springs house

Great location, had everything we needed. I noticed a review about no top sheet on the bed- it’s European duvet cover style- no top sheet needed! Appreciated the host’s communication and allowing an early check in- THANK YOU! Only improvements needed is that the smoke detectors were not functional; one was taken down and one had no batteries.

Cute older home in great location

I rented this house as we were attending a wedding. The house is as described. It is located in a quiet neighborhood & there is so much near by. One of the bedrooms does have an attached bathroom with a shower, this room is the one with the queen sized bed. It is located at the back of the house. The other bedroom located at the front of the house has a king size bed. The second bathroom is located between the two bedrooms and is a tub/shower combo. Upon arrival the house was clean & while in another review I read that there were bugs/insects in the home we did not experience that. The back yard is a decent size & is fenced. There is a covered patio area with a small grill & seating. It was nice to be able to sit out there at night & early in the morning watching the squirrels and birds. The host provides hand soap in both bathrooms, towels, & shampoo and conditioner. Both bedrooms had fitted sheets & duvet so there is no flat sheet on the bed. The kitchen had all cooking utensils, pots, pans, baking sheet, plates, bowls, glasswear, & coffee mugs. The house also has a kureg & some coffee pods. If you like flavored coffee stop off at a store and pick up some pods. The host was very good about responding when sending messages. A few things to note, these were not things that bother us but may be an issue for others. When the A/C comes on it is a bit noisy in the living room. The bedroom with the king size bed is located at the front of the house so there is some road
