Location was perfect. The cabin was spotless. We floated the river with The Fly Box, right up the road which was very convenient.

The house was perfect in every way! They had everything needed in the house. Nice and clean with an amazing view of the river. Quiet and peaceful!

quaint getaway

Clean, comfortable beds, beautiful views, well equipped kitchen with new appliances. Lottie, the owner, was an excellent communicator. She allowed us to check-in earlier as we had to leave earlier.

Fishing Trip

Visited for a trip to float the South Holston With a friend. The house is in close proximity to both Big Springs and the weir, making it the perfect place to stay if you are bringing your own boat. The house was clean and the host was very nice. It had everything we needed and having a grill was great for cooking some fish we kept. Would love to visit and stay again.

Exactly what we needed!

My husband and I have been selecting quiet mountain region destinations the last few years preparing for retirement. Going up and down the Shenandoah to the Smokies. This home was perfect for us. Just enough, close to downtown and relaxing. The history of the home was wonderful and Lottie was a pleasure to communicate with. We certainly enjoyed our little get away. Watching the birds, hearing the owls at night and watching everyone fly fish was a treat. Definitely recommend this home. We truly enjoyed it.

Wonderful Experience

The host was helpful and kind. The check-in process was simple. The location was great. Set on the front porch and watch the river flow. Home was Close to my favorite fishing spots. The house was well stocked with everything you need. The beds were comfortable. The house was very clean and neat. My wife and I loved how the house was decorated with pictures and items from the area. We will definitely be returning for another stay in the future. Would highly recommended it.

We have come to Bristol for years for the N.H.R.A. and started at the cheap hotels with horrible results up to the top suites hotels with 5-star ratings. The Cottage by the river was by far the most enjoyable stay we ever experienced!! The cottage was beautiful and the view world class!! The Owner's and Neighbours are the best, polite and friendly!! The only thing we would change is a paver sidewalk through the long walk through the grass from the parking area. We checked in during the rain and wet shoes and grass clippings were everywhere. A small price to be paid for the best vacation we ever experienced!!

Fishing respite

Enjoyed the stay. Setting was great and house was clean. We were frustrated by the construction site right on top of us and the workers running heavy equipment late into the evening and early in the morning. Perhaps maybe speak to them about being respectful of your paying guests.

Great home and area

4 of us visited Bristol for the Nascar race. This home has a beautiful view of the river and very close to a number of activities. We sat on the front porch for hours and hiked a few of the trails nearby. We will certainly be back. House was everything advertised.

The property was very nice. For two people who don’t like perfumes, the use of air fresheners in the bathroom we’re a bit much, others may not be bothered by them though.

Hidden Gem

As TN residents we have great appreciation for all the beautiful antiques that decorate this truly unique property. Being on the river and able to walk to the water to fish was fantastic. Truly all the comforts of home. We wanted for nothing.

Beautiful

This house was beautiful and just what my family needed to relax. The view while sitting on the front porch was amazing. Walking by the river was so relaxing. They house was decorated and cleaned so well. The beds were so comfortable. Lottie was wonderful when I asked her a couple questions. I highly recommend this house.

Thanksgiving visit

The house is easy to find with great views of the river. I really enjoyed the front porch views. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots and pans. The owners provided coffee pods for the Keurig and dishwasher pods. The bathroom had more than enough towels and the beds were very comfortable.

Great little place

The host made it very simple to get into the house at my convenience. The views up and down the river are beautiful and it was easy to find. The house was immaculately clean and everything you needed was supplied.

Great cabin on the river

Perfect house for a family. Had a wonderful time with family being able to gather for dinner. Well equipped kitchen and very clean updated house. Enjoyed sitting on the porch watching boats and occasional river otters. Highly recommend this house.
