Cozy Cabin in the woods 2 br + 1 loft br, 1 bath. Large deck, beautiful views

Welcome to Fern Hill Cabin. Enjoy the tranquility nestled in a dense pine forest. View the woods from the large deck. Roast marshmallows by the fire. Our cabin is located 15-20min (10 miles) from Holiday Valley and Ellicottville.

There are 2 bedrooms and 1 loft bedroom. One bedroom includes a full/twin bunk bed. The other bedroom includes a queen bed. The loft also has a queen bed. We have a pack n' play available as well.


There is a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom with a shower, washer, and dryer.

The deck overlooks 8 wooded acres with plenty of outdoor seating and a grill.

The wood stove in the living room is NOT usable.

Winter months require 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles to access the steep driveway.

There is 50mps wireless internet available.

There is adequate cell service (except for Verizon, however, you can connect your phone through the wifi). The cabin is equipped with children's toys and books, board games, a smart TV (will need to log in to your own streaming accounts), and DVD's

There are many year round attractions nearby. Including: Holiday Valley, shops and restaurants of Ellicottville, Griffis Sculpture Park, Golden Hill State Forest, Seneca Allegany Casino, Allegany State Park, Little Rock City, Pumpkinville, City of Salamanca, Salamanca Antiques Mall, City of Olean.

The cabin was in very good shape and it was spotless. It was equipped with everything one could ask for. Mechanically, everything was in tip-top shape. Pride of ownership was readily apparent. My two sons and I arrived at two different times. Jordan provided excellent directions. The cabin is located in close proximity to County Road 18 and easy to locate. We highly recommend this facility.

Beautiful cabin in the woods- neighbor not very nice but we were warned not to go on their property. Bunk beds in first floor bedroom was a minor issue as we had older grandparents with us and they couldn't do the narrow stairs to get upstairs. Overall we had a great stay, everything was provided, easy entrance, would be perfect for a family with young kids.

Very cute place. We loved the fire pit and having a kitchen available with essentials (pots, pans, plates, silverware) also a grill available to use. We had no hot water all weekend, was the only negative.

Short vacation

This cabin is set up the way we would do it if we had one of our own. All the little touches were there. We loved sitting on the deck in the evenings, cooking dinner on the grill and just relaxing. Awesome stay.

Great spot to stay if enjoying holiday valley

Check in was fairly smooth but I do recommend in the email you receive to record the code to get in because there is no service from my provider to upload the email to get the code. Once in the cabin the have simple instructions to connect to WiFi and any necessary steps to start your stay. Kitchen was well stocked with essentials to cook your meals and board games to enjoy when back from the slopes. Rooms were good size to have all your gear without being crowded.

You're paying for the privacy of the property. The cabin was clean and beds made but it lacked personal touch. I didnt feel warmly welcomed. We needed to turn the heat on and the hot water heater and the pump when we got there, so it was quite cold inside. There were other peoples tooth brushes in the bathroom medicine cabinet. There was hardly any toilet paper on the roll and extras were finally located in the kitchen(???) It WAS quiet, private, and clean otherwise, just lacked any kind of warm personal "welcome to your home away from home". We'll try a different spot next time.

Great cabin

My husband, 3 sons and I stayed here for 3 nights. We had such a great time! The cabin was immaculate and had everything you could think of. The beds were comfortable. The location was exactly what we were looking for to have a fun camping trip before everyone goes back to school. The host gave very detailed directions to get there and instructions for whatever we would have needed once we were there. We will definitely book this property again!

This little getaway was exactly what we needed. The location is just far enough out of Ellicottville to feel like a camping trip, yet close adventures. The home was adorable and just perfect for our family. Total Solar Eclipse Trip

We enjoyed this lovely little cabin in the woods to experience the total solar eclipse. It was so nice to be surrounded by nature and listen to the birds and to have a few minutes of nighttime in the middle of the afternoon. Our 12 year old son loved romping around in the woods right around the cabin and we visited a few of the local state parks. We also enjoyed the adorable Ellicottville (about 20 minutes away) for dinner (Ellicottville Brewery). The hosts have provided many thoughtful amenities, so it’s easy to feel at home. If the temp is below 40, it does get a little cold, even with the heater on, so bring your robe and slippers!

Winter wonderland

We stayed at the property to take the kids to the SnoCross race in Salamanca. The cabin is nicely tucked in the woods, very private and secluded. The property is way out in the country, but you can quickly get to Salamanca and Ellicottville with a short beautiful drive. The Cabin was clean and simple with lots of entertainment and equipt with everything you would need. It was great for the kids.

Great for a ski weekend

We stayed with our kids two nights for a ski weekend. Close to the Holiday Valley resort and this was an easy place to crash and cook a meal. The hosts provided plenty of essentials--towels, blankets, cookware. 4-wheel drive is essential on this driveway in the winter months--they aren't kidding in the description. My only recommendation is that you bring a space heater for the downstairs bedroom. It can get cold with the door closed. We would stay again.

Peace, Quiet and a Good Fire

We get up this way at least every 5 years or so as I was born in Olean and raised in Bradford. I've lived in and travelled to many places, but the Allegheny Mountains are my home and my dear hubby is up for it every time. We loved the solitude and quiet of our stay at Fern Hill while having conveniences within a 20 minute ride in any direction. The hosts provide everything you could possibly need outside of your groceries (bring your own bags, out-of-staters!) Be ready to kick off your shoes and restore your mind and body.
