The charming upstairs master suite has a full bathroom and king bed, while the downstairs hosts two (2) additional bedrooms. Whether you are docking for the weekend or attending an event, you are just steps away. Ideal for 4 people, but can fit up to 6.

Cute little cottage in a great location. Well set up for my wife and I and our two pups who enjoyed the fenced in back yard. Only complaint is that the parking was a little weird. The neighbors I suspect are being purposefully difficult and parking their cars in such a manner that it makes it difficult for the tenant of this property to back up and leave.

Lovely Cottage

Lovely little cottage in a pretty, quiet neighborhood. Once you find it down the little lane, it's a great location to be in. Not far from town and close to the water, we really enjoyed relaxing at the house and in the backyard. Highly recommend.

Calm, Comfortable Oasis

Our family of four greatly enjoyed our stay at Ali and Jim's cottage, found it to be even better and more spacious than expected and would not hesitate to return. It was a perfectly relaxing base for the last four days of our vacation. The level of quietness the cottage provided is unsurpassed by most vacation rentals, as it is nestled in the middle of a secluded residential neighborhood which is nonetheless right across from an upscale oceanside resort. The decor is tasteful and serene. The ultra-modern, highly efficient air conditioning units offered almost instant temperature control, the beds were comfortable and we all slept very well. It felt like an indulgence for my husband and I to have the large master suite upstairs all to ourselves, while our two older teenagers each had their own private bedroom downstairs. Two bathrooms are a plus for any family with teenagers, too! The futon in one of the downstairs bedrooms is much bigger and more bed-like than the description indicates. The huge wraparound counter in the kitchen was handy to eat and organize all our stuff on, and the washer and dryer were greatly appreciated and in frequent use. Beaches, excellent restaurants and other attractions are close by in all directions, and we especially loved the convenience of being able to grab gourmet-quality prepared meals from Pasta Vita a few miles north and have them all ready for us in the fridge, for times when we wanted to eat in. This cottage is quite a find!

Lovely Get-Away

I was in the area for my niece's college graduation at Wesleyan University and loved the chance to explore this beautiful part of the country. Being so close to the water in Old Saybrook was amazing, and the house itself was both fresh and cozy. The hosts were very responsive, and the only issue (which they acknowledged in advance) was that a portion of the fence was missing, due to a recent storm. That said, they were up front and apologetic, knowing that I'd booked because my dogs were along. Overall, it was a darling place with nice amenities.

The home was very much as described in the VRBO listing, the booking process was secure, arrival, check-in and checkout were well coordinated, communication with some delay, regarding nonworking cable TV, otherwise excellent experience.

We had a wedding at the Saybrook Inn and decided to stay here for 3 nights. What a fantastic home, very cute, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it strongly, it’s pretty much a no-brainer everything you need is within the home, including a nice weber grill outside. I really don’t know what more you can ask for.

Wedding week

We had a great stay and enjoyed the location, very close to our daughters wedding at the Inn. The house was clean and nicely decorated. No complaints at all. Loved the fenced yard for the dog. Would definitely stay again!

Issues, issues, issues

Although a nice place, I had several issues. When I realized I was getting automated responses thru the messaging system it was futile to continue. I called the owner, Ali, who never returned my call. It was impersonal. Loved being with my mom, sis, and daughter for a week. Beaches close by. Casinos close. Shopping and restaurants close. It might sleep six people, but definitely not comfortably! Tiny sitting area with loveseat and chair. 2 beach towels. Spiders. Bird poo all over backyard furniture. Tall grass and lots of overgrown weeds. No dishwasher…and no dish soap. Could not get to bikes in back of shed. Heavy and full garbage can. Very dirty filter in upstairs mini split. I expected more for the price I paid.

Grammie’s Great Adventure

Clean, uncluttered, fenced yard, close to beach, great neighborhood for walking, quiet, everything we needed. Totally forgot how much work it is taking a 5 month old (and a 5 year old) to the beach; so great that Harvey’s Beach is less than 10 mins away. Perfect 5 day getaway for my daughter, grandchildren and me!

This property is great if you are attending an event at the hotel nearby. It was clean and convenient, but could use some upgrades like a dishwasher etc.

Nice house next to Marina

Stayed at house for a wedding weekend. Everything was nice. Two bikes were super fun. Dog friendly backyard even though we don’t have a dog. Location fabulous. Drive to town beach easily. Only two things to note 1.the stairs to second floor are steep 2. no dishwasher. We would come back!

COMFY COTTAGE IN OLD SAYBROOK

We loved staying at Cove Cottage ! Plus our 14 year young Jack Russell, who can show anxiety when traveling, was relaxed and cozy here! It is the questional New England Cottage comfy! Ali & Jim, were available for questions, but left us to enjoy the home! Close to great walks, golf, restaurants, and shopping! Oh by the way, there is the Long Island sound, with great beaches only a short drive or walk away. For a quiet retreat near the shore, consider Cove Cottage!

Wonderful House in Great Location

My family - three adults and one dog - spent several days (but not long enough!) at this delightful home. It was very clean, very comfortable, nicely decorated, and smartly set up - we had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. The fenced in backyard was an additional plus - I enjoyed sitting in the shade of the umbrella on the patio while my dog basked in the sunshine on the grass. The location is just perfect. The hosts were responsive and thoughtful - thank you to them for making everything so welcoming. We look forward to returning.

Jim and I (Ali) love this as our own getaway-- its cozy, cute, and has great energy. We are avid adventurers. We took on, perhaps, the biggest adventure of our lives when we combined our families in June of 2021. Now a family of 7 (9 if you count the cat and pup!), we try our best to make room in the chaos for some good old fashion quality time and exploration. We're lucky that Connecticut has so much to offer right in our own backyard.

Between our day jobs, raising our family and selling houses, we can usually be found boating, scoping out a local brewery, working out or relaxing on the shoreline.

We live here in Connecticut and we love our community. We find that the best places are usually those that come with great neighbors, plenty of gems to explore and a vibe that usually leaves you wanting to come back for more. Our love of hospitality combined with my career in real estate has helped make this VRBO a great place to be!
