2476 Shipwatch is a 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom oceanfront villa in the popular West Beach neighborhood with inviting interiors, sweeping ocean views and beach access directly from the building to Kiawah Island’s miles of pristine beaches.

This oceanfront villa is well-appointed with an open layout offering wonderful morning sun and natural light throughout the day. The open plan living area is spacious with comfortable seating, a flat screen TV for entertainment, a dining table for 4 and access to the ocean facing balcony. The kitchen is newly updated with modern appliances, granite countertops and all you need for home cooked meals.

This Shipwatch villa is ideal for a couples getaway to Kiawah Island with a spacious king suite with a brand new bed, flat screen TV and private ensuite with a tub/shower. Large sliding doors capture wide ocean views from your pillow and open to the spacious balcony to enjoy quiet time and alfresco dining with ocean breezes and views. The living room offers a pullout couch for an additional 2 guests.

This Shipwatch villa is located on the 4th floor of the building. There are laundry facilities available on each floor and an elevator in the building for guest convenience.

Shipwatch Villas are oceanfront condo rentals located on the beach in the heart of West Beach Village. West Beach Village is located nearest to Kiawah Island’s main gate and is situated around the Cougar Point Golf Course and Clubhouse. West Beach is Kiawah’s oldest neighborhood with meandering boardwalks, mature maritime forests and a charming, Lowcountry island vibe.

You’re an easy walk to the beach, a bike ride away from Freshfields Village, The Sanctuary Hotel, Night Heron Park and Kiawah Island’s world-class golf courses and tennis, and a short 40-minute drive to historic downtown Charleston.

Pool Access: Please note this property has NO resort pool access.

Beach Access: Enjoy beach access directly from the building via Boardwalks 5 and 6.

Pet Policy: This property does not allow pets.

Parking: There is parking for up to 2 cars.

Check-in instructions will be sent via email at least 10 days prior to check-in once the Rental Agreement is signed. If your stay is within 9 days, or lesser, from the time of booking, the instructions will be sent via email as soon as the Rental Agreement is signed.

It was a lovely place. And great proximity to the beach and the village. The only issue we had was that we called to report that one of the ceiling fans was not working and the door to the patio did not lock. We never heard back from anyone.

Everything was great, loved the Ocean View, convenient to getting on and off the island. It was quiet, which is very nice.I'm not sure why there are no luggage carts to assist in getting your things up to the unit. My wife and I had to make multiple trips up and down the elevator. That was the only thing we thought was missing.

The property is not cared for and is dated. Upon arrival we experienced issues with the air conditioning. With self investigation we determined the filters were heavily coated, not changed in months or more. Once changed the air improved. We found the shower door broken, later fixed, blood on a blanket used on the bed but not replaced after multiple requests, a poor working stove and dish washer, and a coffee maker that looked ready to die. The unit was outfitted with a hodgepodge of silverware, dishes and glasses. Particular was the glassware to include a mason jar. The furniture was in good condition but out of the late 60’s to early 70’s with far too many pieces. The bedroom had black mold on the ceiling which was treated with chlorine spray after complaining. Lastly we suspect the bedroom furniture was exposed to a leaking event because it smelled like mold. The unit is perfectly located on the beach at Kiawah, which in our opinion is one of the best in the country. It’s unfortunate that the unit is not cared for as it should be in such a beautiful location.

The View!

This is a perfect place for a couple to get away and enjoy Kiawah Island. The condo was super clean, everything worked as it should, the location was ideal, and the view of the ocean was to die for!

2476 Shipwatch

It was well-kept and had all we needed for the two of us. Our only suggestion is to add a couple of rolling baggage carts like one sees at a hotel in order to ease the unloading and loading process. We had to make four separate trips to get our stuff in the unit. Since it was on the fourth floor, it was tedious and time consuming. The view was wonderful, the porch was comfortable and we enjoyed the beach - great access!

A little getaway

The property was nice but needs a updated bathroom, the view was absolutely beautiful, we enjoyed the beach being so close to the property and it was so nice. Our trip was very relaxing, the property provided what we needed.

Beautiful accommodations with gorgeous views.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We really enjoyed our vacation in this unit! Especially enjoyed the east facing balcony that was shady in the late afternoon and was great for looking at the beach in daylight, and the stars at night. Just noticed a couple of things that prospective renters might consider. The hot water heater is one of those instant on models (which no doubt saves the owners money). The water temperature fluctuated quite a bit, especially if someone turned on another faucet (even cold water), and made showers a little iffy. Only other tiny item was that there were no coffee filters in the unit. (We quit bringing them years ago as all rentals seemed to have them.)
