Relax by the river & sea! Remodeled Mid-Carmel Valley cottage retreat

Follow the path of overarching trees to this self-contained guest house steps from the Carmel River. It's undergone a loving makeover. The farm-style cottage has everything needed for a peaceful, tranquil retreat, yet is conveniently close to shopping as well as spa and dining, visits to the Refuge, Carmel Valley Ranch and Bernardus Lodge. With no traffic, it takes about 12 minutes to downtown Carmel-by-the Sea and 8 minutes to downtown Carmel Valley.

The thoughtfully designed kitchen features a full-size refrigerator, chef’s gas stove, microwave, dishwasher and built in reverse osmosis water system. Double pane windows brighten the dining area. The living room features a 65-inch TV, Wi-Fi and electric fireplace. Step into the bedroom (with 55-inch TV) and discover a California king-size bed enrobed in Egyptian cotton linens.

Everything has been thought of, from easy parking to blackout shades on the windows. And the cottage environment is hypoallergenic in almost every way. Situated just beyond the fogline, the cottage can serve as your base for experiencing the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

*** Please excuse the unfinished but private front yard (not landscaped). The main house is rustic and waiting for a makeover. Please be aware of (possible) two dogs, greeting you on your arrival. Mizuno; yellow lab, 9 years. Wilson; white with black spots, 4 years. Owners live on site. You may or may not see them during your stay.

*****This home is a monthly rental and we request that all nights of your stay are within the same calendar month. Some exceptions may be possible, with the approval of the homeowner.

We had a wonderful & peaceful stay in Carmel Valley and this place had everything we needed!! The sounds of nature and the comfort of the house made it an exceptional experience. It was located close to everything we needed while feeling remote and removed from the hustle of daily life, which is exactly what we were looking for. I highly recommend this spot and hitting up Folktale winery & Earthbound farms which are right down the road!

Perfect rental...perfect space, location and owner. I could list where it checks all the boxes but my review would be too long! Suffice it to say, its a must stay if you are in the Carmel Valley.

Hidden gem

This cottage was beautifully decorated, extremely comfortable and tucked away in a private, quiet setting in the valley but close enough to all the activities. The hosts were extremely attentive and just good people. We loved everything about it and would highly recommend.

Wonderful cottage

My husband and I loved our 4 night stay in this beautiful cottage nestled in Carmel valley! It’s a beautiful and private area and is about a 15 minute drive to downtown Carmel. The cottage has everything you could need and is very nice and comfortable. It was the perfect spot to spend our 10 year anniversary. There are lots of great restaurants nearby, gorgeous views, and wonderful hiking spots!

The perfect getaway

My girlfriend and I could not be more happy with how wonderful our stay in this cottage was. The hosts Jung and David were unbelievably gracious and kind. The location was stunningly beautiful and perfect for exploring Carmel and Monterey. The cottage itself was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved it and would absolutely stay here again.

Dreamy and serene

We absolutely loved our stay! It was an incredible getaway. The house was exceptional, clean and quaint and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Spa like shower excellent! We didn’t want to get out! We loved the doggies, they are so friendly and good and it was fun playing with them. We can’t wait to return and we are already suggesting to family and friends! Also David and Jung are awesome!!! They gave us a lot of suggestions for restaurants, hikes and spas. It is apparent that they take a lot of pride in their property. We were extremely comfortable. The drive in to the house is very pretty, and the creek behind the house is much larger than we expected and so beautiful! We hope to come back!

A perfect getaway

Everything was fantastic. The location is idyllic. The cottage has everything we needed and more. Cooking in the kitchen was a joy. Sitting by the river was beautiful and so relaxing. Well be back!

Awesome ADU

Super well done modern guest house with beautiful private lot in Carmel Valley. New construction, very well designed and well appointed. Everything you need to have a great time and the hosts are friendly, attentive and very easy to work with. Great location in the heart of Carmel valley close to restaurants and wineries, but feels like you are very secluded. Looking forward to coming back.

BEST Little Cottage

You would think you were at a country retreat but actually you are within a very short distance to anywhere you want to go on the Monterey Peninsula. It is so nice to leave crowded, busy Carmel by the Sea and the damp fog and have sunshine and quiet when you want it. The cottage itself is so comfortable, cozy and clean (and very up to date!). In addition, the hosts are wonderful. Would 100% recommend.

Perfect

This property was definitely a home away from home. The owners have taken great care to think of everything to make a stay more enjoyable down to robes and slippers. This home was spotless and the bed/ linens some of the most comfortable that we have had. The owners are next door so while there was mutual respect for privacy they were friendly and very approachable. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Located close to many attractions we were able to spend our days sightseeing and then our evenings relaxing. This house was perfect!

Great Stay in the Valley

This property gives you the privacy and sunshine in mid Carmel Valley. It's a great location for exploring any place on the Monterey peninsula. The hosts are absolutely the nicest people and respond immediately to any question or issue. The cottage itself is so pretty with windows that open, a comfortable bed, a creek where you can enjoy a glass of wine. Would highly recommend!!

Excellent property. Hosts are very kind and pleasant and attentive to any need you may have. Quiet, comfortable, pristine cottage with every amenity possible. Bedding and linens were top notch. I will definitely stay again if available when visiting family.

Home away from home

My husband and I booked here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and are so glad we did. This cottage is beautiful! We were able to relax all weekend and enjoyed how quiet it was. Jung and David are so kind and made us feel right at home. We look forward to booking again soon.

My husband and I both grew up on the beautiful Monterey Peninsula. We've been married 23 years. We are raising 3 strong, intelligent and beautiful daughters. Our oldest is a Sr at University of Hawaii, middle daughter is a Jr at USC and our youngest is a sophomore at Carmel High. We are an active family who enjoys hiking, playing beach volleyball and traveling. My husband has been a Realtor for over 20+ years and has his license with Sothebys. And I work for a local newspaper. We love living in mid-valley due to the warmer weather and we're not too far from Carmel Beach.

Recently re-modeled. Almost everything is new. Our property is on a dead-end street, so it's very private and quiet. And we're about 8 minutes to Carmel Valley Village. And only about 12/15 minutes to downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea.
