Reserve now to take advantage of our beautiful fall weather, uncrowded beaches and fresh seafood. This lovely 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom condo, "Beach Retreat" is in the heart of the quaint Cape Charles Historic Area on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, only one block from the beach, "Beach Retreat" is a cozy, yet spacious second story two bedroom unit that requires steps to access. This unit has a charming beachy theme and is located in a historic brick building on Mason Avenue, the town’s historic thoroughfare, perfect for great people watching and access to all of the boutiques, restaurants and shops. In June 2012, Cape Charles was named “One of the Best Little Beach Towns” by Southern Living Magazine. "Beach Retreat" is only about a block from that beautiful Cape Charles town beach. This is the perfect vacation rental for a romantic or adventure filled getaway--any time of the year! It’s outfitted with very comfortable furniture and includes a dining room with seating for four. The 1st bedroom offers a high-end king-sized mattress and the 2nd bedroom offers a comfortable twin mattress. Full kitchen including dishwasher, built-in microwave and ceramic top stove. Sliding doors from both the living room and bedroom lead out to the spacious veranda. Be sure to check out all of the amenities for this lovely 2 bedroom apartment! The condo is an excellent value. Size, location and condition are excellent. I had requested a change in our dates and Doug responded directly. We adjusted our stay to start and finish a day later.One disappointment ....... We could not connect to the internet the last 24 hours of our stay. I called the two numbers listed in our guest instructions and left messages and my cell # but did not received a call. I rebooted the router to no avail. One other item of note which did not affect our stay in any way. The window/door frame in the second bedroom has a leak. It rained most of Monday and Tuesday with a north wind blowing against that side of the building. On Wednesday we went in that room to open the drapes and noticed the carpet was wet on the left side of the frame including the frame, step and floor. The door had never been opened during our stay.

great location

Location made getting around a breeze. We have stayed in Cape Charles several times and you can't beat being on the main drag and so close to the beach. Highly recommend!

Perfect location! We loved our stay. The apartment was great for us with a small child. Convenient to everything. I took one star off for cleanliness. There was sand on the toilet seat and a dirty bowl on the floor upon arrival. Would stay again.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was nice and big. Very Clean, close to the beach. Right on the main road of Cape Charles. The property manager was easy to work with. Only negative thing was the deck. We like to enjoy our morning coffee and evening cocktails outside but was not able due to the deck conditions rusty furniture no cushions although the manager did send over 2 chair cushions the deck itself was filthy with bird droppings and dirt and vines growing everywhere. I would suggest the management company give the deck a complete overhaul. Given that I would recommend the property to friends.

Cape Charles charm

It was a wonderful apt with a great location to walk to everything. Shop owners were all super friendly! Our only disappointment was that the beach was actually closed the first 2 days for “reconstruction “ and the main reason we chose there was to walk to the beach.

Daughters wedding

My daughter was married at Mimosa Barn and my husband and I (from Mass) stayed at the Beach Retreat. It was better than the what the photos portrayed and was perfect for two people (plus my daughter the night before the wedding). The owner was very gracious and we will definitely stay there again if it's available.

Late summer stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, perfect for our little family of 3. Ideal location on the main thoroughfare; steps from the beach, ice cream (goals for our 2yr old), and shopping (for mom). The apartment was well appointed, very clean… we had a great time and are already looking forward to our next trip to the ES.

Long weekend in Cape Charles

The apartment was clean and as expected. The property manager with Blue Heron Realty reached out to ask if they could bring some new furniture in, which was no problem for us. However, we waited until they arrived and then went out to dinner. When we returned the front door to the unit was wide open. I texted to inform her and have yet almost 24 hours later received an apology or explanation.

Fantastic location!

Everything was perfect for our long weekend stay. The location to the beach, restaurants, and stores was great. The place was spacious and had everything we needed. Beds and furniture were comfortable. We loved the openness of the living area.

Loved this rental!

This rental was overall tidy. It had everything we needed and was close to the beach. Will definitely be staying here again. The check in process was a little off, the company had given the wrong apartment number with the code to access, so I did have to go to the real estate company since no one would respond on VRBO messages.

Great location!

This apartment was perfect for our trip! It was clean and comfortable, and easy walking distance to anywhere we wanted to go. The kitchen is small but well equipped, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We would love to stay here again!

Great home and location but it could be a little cleaner

Very nice home, tastefully furnished and good location. I found a dead roach in the bedroom and the sheet in one of the rooms had a strand of hair on it which was not a pleasant sight. Other than that a great stay.

Quaint in every way

Excellent little get away for two as long as you go before Labor Day weekend. The holiday weekend marks the closing of most attractions in town, which was not reflected in the price of the rent. The apartment was clean and well decorated.

Spacious, tidy apartment in the heart of Cape Charles

We stayed at this awesome property for a 4-day getaway, it was perfect for our family of 3. Walking distance to all of Cape Charles Main Street shops, as well as the beach and fishing pier. The apartment was amazingly spacious and clean, the kitchen fabulously well stocked, we really could not have asked for more. Would love to stay again on our next trip!

Enjoyable Getaway

We had a wonderful three days at Cape Charles. The property was spacious, very clean and perfectly located. It's a great town to walk and we had especially nice weather, so we enjoyed sunsets each evening. It was the perfect getaway for us.
