If you want to escape the crowds and enjoy peace & quiet at the beach, this is the home for you! Over 12 miles of natural walking and paved bike paths throughout St. George Plantation provide spectacular views while you enjoy the surroundings. Multiple decks on every floor overlook the bay and salt marshes. You are truly in the heart of a bird watcher's paradise. Relax on the beautiful white sand beaches or by one of the amazing community pools. Workout at the fitness center or play a game of tennis or pickle ball. Take a boat charter trip for great fishing or take a guided dolphin tour or sunset cruise. A beautifully furnished interior with transom windows that flood the home with natural light. There are 2 bedrooms with ensuite baths on the first floor, along with a shared sitting area with 2 twin beds, that opens up to the bayfront deck. The living room is on the second floor, with stunning views, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, half bath and the laundry room. The top floor master suite has a wet bar and bird's-eye view of the best sunsets on the island. There is an additional King bed in the sitting area on the 3rd floor. Conveniently located within walking distance to the community tennis courts and pool and just minutes from the beach access. There are several amazing restaurants on the island or venture across the bridge to explore Eastpoint, Apalachicola & Carrabelle. This home is a secluded paradise!

This was our first family vacation with the kids and grandkids. We needed a place big enough for everyone to have their own space and this was the perfect place! It had everything we needed in the kitchen plus more. The grandkids did not want to leave, it was so quite and peaceful, and the views were beautiful from the balcony.

Great secluded spot on St. George Island, tucked inside a gated community with wilderness all around and very few homes nearby.The location was definitely above average. Cleanliness, however, fell short—there was a noticeable urine smell in the room and several dead bugs throughout the house.That said, the setting and overall experience made the negatives forgivable for us, and the pros outweighed the cons.

It’s seldom ALL expectations are met during a stay. Comfort, style, cleanliness, convenience and the VIEW were all we had hoped for. Moreover, the kind and professional communication from the owners was the cherry on top. We cannot wait to book again!

Great property!

This house has everything we needed for our trip. Plenty of space inside the house and patio space on each level. Beautiful views of the bay and a short walk to the beach. Would definitely rent again if we travel to St George.

June 2024 vacation

We travel to St. George Island every year and hace rented a variety of homes in the Plantation. This house has the most amazing view by far. I was impressed that there were actually basic supplies like paper towels and toilet paper - which I have seen other owners really skimp on. The home is beautiful and very comfortable- thank you.

St. George Island

We had some issues checking in due to the previous renters leaving the house in a mess. Communication with owner was quick and we were able to return later for check in. Overall this was a great location. The only down side is all stairs, may not be good for older folks.

Not what we expected

Overall home wasn’t maintained very well at all. Extort door frames were rotted with large gaps in doors, upstairs air didn’t keep up very well with window unit. The furniture was literally falling apart the arms on chairs at tables come off, slip covers on couch are stained ripped and have pet hair along the back. The rooms smelled of urine and pet. After taking the sheets off all the mattress toppers were in waterproof pads and it’s shown what the smell could have been not picture one with very large yellow stain taking up a lot of the bed. . Overall just not worth the money. We checked out early.

Secluded Sanctuary

We've never stayed at SGI let alone the plantation. It was lovely and secluded. Only heads up is that there are a lot of stairs! All houses there have to have stairs bc of hurricane building code, but this baby is extra tall. Nice though bc everyone could have their own floor.

Location, Location, Location!

A beautiful home with lots of room and privacy. Three decks that overlook wetlands and Apalachicola Bay and has beautiful sunsets. Kitchen was well organized and well stocked with dishes and cooking appliances. Bed, all kings, were comfy with nice walk in showers in on-suites. Small semi-private road leads out into wetlands and is a nice walk. We had dogs with us and it was perfect! The beach is a short walk away and almost deserted each day we enjoyed it. Just too lovely and we will be back!

Wonderful place to stay for our family!

This lovely home is in a great, private location with gorgeous views of the bay and stunning sunsets from the 3 decks (one on each level) Proximity to the tennis court was a plus! Being in the Plantation is so nice with the bike paths and all the amenities (pools, tennis and pickle ball courts, fitness center) that are available. Loved the layout of the house as well. Having a bathroom for each bedroom was wonderful. The beds were very comfy. The sitting room on the lower level was a bright and cozy place to read (or nap). The open living room, kitchen and dining area was a great gathering spot for our group with lots of comfy seating. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Having multiple smart TVs throughout the house was great and WIFI worked perfectly. If I had to get picky, I would say I wish there were dressers in the 2 bedrooms on the lower level and a ceiling fan in the bedroom on the top floor, but these weren’t big issues at all! Highly recommend this house for any group!

Good location

Overall this was a great location, close enough to everything and lots of nice walking trails. The beach is a short walk away also. The only things I would mention is that the decor is a bit over done, so many “things” everywhere you look and still have the price tag on them for some reason? The couch was very comfy but had a couple of places that looked like it had been cut out. The downstairs carport area could use a tidying up. Also I’ve never stayed in a rental property that asked you to put away the dishes from the dishwasher before leaving and to not leave more than a days worth of laundry because the cleaning staff doesn’t have time to do laundry. We are on vacation so we didn’t plan on doing laundry either. Other than these few things it was a good house. The views are gorgeous but there were also a few bugs we had to deal with.

Some major house issues

The AC was broken upon arrival on the master bedroom floor, this was not fixed until the next afternoon. (They put a temporary window unit in that was NOT keeping up) Then the AC broke on the main floor - another almost 24 hours before this was repaired. During this time there were heat advisories. The owner also asked me to get on a ladder to turn the breaker on the main AC unit (did this - it was scary- and it didn’t work). The hot water kept turning off and I would have to reset the breaker and wait for it to heat back up. Basically from my multiple conversations with AC repair people at this house - the AC is running on the wrong type of circuit breaker- it’s been a problem for years- they need to put the money into actually fixing it- that’s why it keeps overloading the system. That’s why the hot water keeps turning off, and the AC machines getting uneven electricity damages them. Basically I wish the owner told me before checkin the AC was broken so I could have found somewhere else to stay. -lovely home but not maintained or safe to stay in the summer.

Decor Galore? PillowPalace? Would recommend...

Pros: The owner(s) were helpful to deal with from start to finish. Kitchen supplies and overall condition were good...plenty of pots, pans, sharp knives, some spices, lots of nice dishes and silverware for even large family meals, and some paper towel and cleaning supplies. Coffee and filters to start our stay were appreciated 👍. Easy washer and dryer worked great. Some detergent, prewash spray and dryer sheets were available. Bathrooms had toilet paper, nice towels, great hot water and pressure in showers. Mattresses were excellent. Bedding was very nice, clean, comfortable and abundant. There were lots of great kids books, good ones for older readers plus puzzles and games. The views from all three decks are gorgeous at any time, especially at sunset. The quiet location is good for birding and if you have a dog. Cons:The house needed a deep cleaning. Hand rails and the kitchen windows in particular were dirty and not just from recent previous guests. The house is decorated nicely but to excess. I.e. views from the kitchen windows were blocked by rows of tall ceramic items. Table tops work space was limited by decor galore. Comfy furniture is large for the area. Crowding made it difficult to vacuum and just walk around some areas i.e. the dining and living rooms. Beds had 9-11 decorator pillows each and no good space to put them aside. BR closets and drawers were full of owners things. Bikes rusted out...Just needs cleaning and TLC. Much to enjoy there.

Amazing views!

My family and I had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Plantation house. We were all comfortable and had plenty of room to spread out. We loved hanging out on the balcony on all three levels and watching the sunsets on the bay. So beautiful and calming. Overall, the house was well decorated with a beachy theme. I would highly recommend if you want a quiet and relaxing vacation.

Fantastic property on St. George

This is a top tier vacation property. We book a lot of vacation homes through the year as we travel, and this is a perfect home. Quiet area, safe gated community, beautifully appointed home, clean, all amenities provided, comfortable furniture and beds, just perfect. The owners were quick to respond to any questions and made sure our stay on SGI was exactly as they advertised. Don’t hesitate to book this property for your families vacation on the gulf. Peaceful, beautiful getaway

Overall we had a wonderful stay in the Plantation. We loved the proximity to the beach and the pool while also having a private, peaceful view of the bay. The house is very comfortable and well appointed. It is a very lovely place to spend a vacation. With a few minor adjustments and increased attention to detail- our stay would have been perfect. My recommendations to the host would be- provide laundry detergent if you are requesting us to wash towels and please increase basic necessities like hand soap, shower soap, toilet paper. Also the downstairs bedrooms really need more options for clothing storage. We would absolutely love to return one day and would recommend this lovely place to everyone!
