Come relax in our charming 1904, 2 bedroom apartment in Demorest. Across the street from Piedmont University and 1 mile from Northeast Georgia Medical Center Habersham. Centrally located for hiking and vineyard touring. Spend the day in the North GA mountains, and stay cozy at night. Wake to coffee of your choice & have a homemade muffin or some fresh eggs from my chickens. Or just walk across the street to a fabulous brunch at Sweetbreads Restaurant, Coffee at Farmhouse coffee on the corner, or dinner at Holden OverSoul (farm to table). You'll love being so close to waterfall hikes, wineries, Tallulah Gorge, Appalachian Trail, Piedmont University, Alpine Helen, zip-lining, geocaching, etc.

This is one of two completely separate apartments in this house, so consider the 1 bedroom apartment if you're traveling with extended family and need a separate space at the same location. Perfect for visiting your Piedmont student with the grandparents along as well.

This was my second time staying at The Tomlin House and it was just as great as the first! The place is super comfortable, clean, and has everything you need. Great location, easy check-in, and a really thoughtful host. Definitely my go-to spot whenever I’m in Demorest.

Great stay at The Tomlin House! Perfect location, super easy check-in, and the host was very accessible. The house had everything we needed—plenty of towels, a stocked coffee bar, and a spacious kitchen where I cooked and grilled for my son and his teammates. Comfortable bed, great layout, and we loved relaxing on the back patio. Felt just like home!

Everything was great from checking in to how clean/organized & prepared the home was superb. Location was quite and had a couple of cute shops a block away. Checking out was a breeze and would love to come back!

Quiet Cottage

Home was beautifully restored and decorated. Had everything needed for a home away from home and pet friendly. Many hiking areas and wineries within short driving distance. Other small towns close to Demorest with shopping and dining. Would stay again.

Awesome property and host

Very enjoyable stay! The property was absolutely adorable and true to the listing. Carmen thought of everything! Had an issue with the plumbing but Jason was at the property within minutes and fixed the issue. Will definitely return for another girls trip! Definitely 5 stars!!!!

Very convenient to Helen and all the sights of North Georgia. Our host was excellent providing breakfast with eggs, egg casserole, muffins, bagels and many flavored yogurts. Very comfortable and a beautiful historical house. Close to a lot of restaurants.

What a great place!

Everything that’s been said is true. The house is very comfortable and tastefully decorated. Carmen and Jason are the perfect hosts. We couldn’t have asked for more. We would gladly come back when in the area again.

We stayed the weekend of our friend’s wedding. The rehearsal dinner was in Helen and the ceremony in Lakemont so this location was centrally located and comfortable to boot! Everything is just as listed but I will say the photos can not convey how comfortable, cozy, thoughtfully decorated, well maintained and clean the Tomlin house is. After the ceremony we were able to order pizza and enjoy it around the deck fire table. When the listing says “pet friendly” that is an understatement. We traveled with a small elderly dog and Carmen provided food and water bowls, beds and collapsible crates for him. He was treated like a king and we all felt like it would be ok if we had to live here forever. The air is so fresh. The surrounding nature is gorgeous. Do not hesitate, book this spot now. Carmen- you have no idea how much comfort, love and peace of mind you brought us. I was Best Woman, our friend was the Officient and we were stressed until we arrived at Tomlin house. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house with us.

Perfect

We were lucky that we were able to stay here at this fabulous place for a short notice. So close to Piedmont where our son goes to college. The apartment was so clean and had everything we needed and was pet friendly! We had homemade muffins and bagels even a breakfast casserole. Carmen is a excellent host!

Loved our quiet weekend

We are looking for a dog friendly place to rent close to Helen GA. I'm really happy we extended our search further out till we found this place. The home was very cozy and they host provided a lot of amenities were very nice. For instance I forgot to pack our dogs food and water bowl that they had a set there. The host is super nice and has great recommendations in a nicely presented binder. If I take another trip to North Georgia this place will be on the top of the list.

Amazing home

We had such an amazing time celebrating my mom’s 60th birthday. Not only is the home beautiful (and well taken care of) but Carmen’s hospitality was incomparable (absolutely ruined any other home I’ll stay in after having such a gracious and considerate host). Carmen’s communication was amazing - she provided us with pastries, yogurt, and eggs upon arrival which was so well received as we arrived past midnight. She has absolutely everything you could ever need or want - she is not like other hosts who give the bare minimum. She supplied everything up to dog shampoo and ziplock baggies - literally everything you could need. Amazing stay - highly recommend.

Cozy and Comfortable are the perfect description

My wife and I stayed at Tomlin House and both of us absolutely loved it. We stayed in the 2nd floor unit and from the moment we arrived, we felt right at home. Tomlin house is warm and inviting with so many wonderful little details. And as nice as Tomin House is...our hostess was even better. Carmen went way above and beyond to make us feel welcome including delicious home baked goodies and fresh eggs from her own chickens. The home was also stocked with necessities/extras much better than any other location we've stayed at. I, unfortunately, got sick on our first full day there (no fault to Tomlin House) but if I had to be sick anywhere away from home...this was the place I would choose to be. Both beds were very comfortable, which ended up being more of a bonus than normal. We just couldn't be happier with our stay and hope to return when we visit that area again. Thank you Carmen!!

Fantastic

Where do I start. Clearly tons of thought and care have gone into this property. Fresh eggs from their chickens, homemade muffins (Strawberry/Rhubarb), homemade egg, sausage, cheese & grit casserole in the freezer that you can defrost and heat up if you want & fresh fruit. These special touches make you feel right at home. There are two units. We stayed in the upstairs unit. Separate entrance and very private. Adorable deck with table and chairs, a sofa and propane fire top table. They also have a wood fire pit and chairs out back which we did not use. The property is near a corner and next to a church but feels very private. We even had deer in the back yard. The home is decorated beautifully. Bed was super comfy and the sheets were SO SOFT and obviously high quality. I LOVED the claw tooth tub/shower. Little touches like the lavender bath salts really made it special. I love to take a good tubby :8) The location is great. Two restaurants & a coffee shop across the street and you are also only 3 miles from town. The owners have put a ton of love into this property and we would 100% stay again.

I'm from North GA, meaning my family moved to the North Georgia mountains around 1780. I've lived in other states and countries and have returned here to raise my son. Now that he's grown, I'm sharing the small town and mountains that I love.

Demorest is a wonderful mid-point to hiking as well and vineyards. So you can hike into the mountains and immerse yourself. Or you can spend the afternoon at a local vineyard and just absorb the energy of the area. Demorest is a quiet respite to decompress and stroll for coffee in the morning, or just porch sit throughout the day.
