Quaint cabin w/hot tub-10 min from Helen!

Small cozy cabin in the woods, close to Helen. We have a new hot tub, grill, internet, fireplace and 50 inch smart TV for your comfort. 20 mins from Cleveland, 10 minutes from Helen and 5 minutes from Unicoi State Park. Flexible with pets.
One thing we love about the property is the peacefulness. It does get very quiet at night sometimes and this is very relaxing. We do also enjoy making the occasional trips to Helen for some of the great restaurants and things to do there such as tubing down the river. There is also occasional wildlife, this is the mountains.

FYI the name of the cabin is Southern Oak Inn

Other Things To Note
The road leading to the cabin is a little rough. We make it just fine in our cars( Honda Civic and Accord) but the ride can be bumpy at the end.

Host responds quickly. Loved the screened-in hot tub and that the property was dog-friendly. King bed was comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed. Easy 10 min drive into town. Easy check in and out. Check out Betty’s country store in Helen for desserts.

Outside light not working by the door. The big one on front not working and two flood lights are out on porch. We stayed there 2 year and they do not work then. Little scary at night with no lghts. It is a wonderful cabin in side is beautiful. We love the place we were luc kily to got it again. Thank you very much. My wife loves the picture above the fire place.

It was a nice stay. Lots of towels and well stocked kitchen. Only complaint was that the hot tub didn’t warm up in time to use it the first night. We used it the last 2 and it was wonderful. Will book again in the future at this one or other cabin nearby.

The cabin is amazing! It is remote so you don’t have to worry about neighbors. Everything was clean and very cozy!! It is also very close to quite a few attractions so that you are not bored during your stay.

This tiny cabin was perfect for just the two of us. House was well prepared with fresh towels & linens. The location was nice, about 10-15 minutes to Helen and an hour to Elijay. We enjoyed our stay. The host was very responsive and answered any questions we had promptly! So Thank You!

Quick weekend getaway, a very relaxing and enjoyable place for two ppl. The kitchen cabinets are surprisingly well-stocked for a homey feeling. Need more steak knives; there's currently only one, plus a couple of butcher knives.It was nice and clean; no bugs, plenty of garbage bags, paper towels, and toilet paper...thank you!

Great but dirty

My wife is a little bit of a neat freak and at first she wanted to leave from the obvious lack of thorough cleaning but I said no , so the first thing we had to do was clean certain areas. Otherwise it was a great stay , excellent location 5 miles from Helen , the hot tub worked great , the smell and sounds of the surrounding forest was so peaceful and relaxing. If I knew it would be cleaned up I would stay again in a second , but unfortunately there is no way knowing that.

5 Day Stay - love the location and hot tub very nice folk wish was a little cleaner

The location and amenities were great however there were aspects of the cabin’s cleanliness that personally made me uneasy. The shower curtain liner has mildew on it :( and all rugs needed to be vacuumed. There were a few areas that just did not smell clean and hinted at urine unfortunately. Silverware seemed to not be cleaned all the way either. Overall, a very doable stay but there were some cleaning my husband and I did upon arrival to feel more comfortable. Great price and great service.but if cleanliness is an upmost priority/concern, just keep this review as of now in mind. The hosts seemed very kind and friendly.

Peace and Quiet

This was a great little cabin for a quiet get-away. Isolated enough to get peace and quiet, but close enough to be in Helen in no time at all! Kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials. Would highly recommend for a couple or small family.

Cute cabin

We wanted privacy and this little cabin was perfect for it. Helen and Unicoi State park are really close. As the owner stated, the road is a little rough, but we had no problems with the road or getting up to the cabin. Great for a weekend getaway.Would definitely stay here again.

Love the location and the coziness. The surface cleaning was great, however the dust build up on the wall in bedroom from ceiling fan was bad. Lights burnt out outside.

We LOVED it

We truly enjoyed our stay. Gregg was an absolutely wonderful host. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub was clean and felt great after a long day of walking Helen. Literally the only thing we had trouble with was the driveway. It is very narrow and needs som limbs clipped. It would probably be ok had we drove my mid size SUV but my husband struggled with his truck on the drive up to the cabin. We enjoyed our stay so much that we will definitely be back. Thank you again Gregg for everything!

Great place!

My partner and I stayed here for our 4th anniversary on our trip to Helen. The property was very clean, very nice atmosphere. I loved the wilderness around us and this place helped our trip be one we will cherish forever. Will definitely consider coming back the next time we visit Helen!

Nice getaway!

We had a good time but the hot tub was so nasty we couldn’t use it which is ridiculous. There was a ring of scum all around the inside and had dead bugs in it. It had not been cleaned. We rented the cabin partly for the tub. The tiny dishwasher is also ridiculous. It takes up all the counter space. We love it other than that and will rent it again. Nice screened in porch

Beautiful Cabin

Hot tub is very dirty.It did work though.I lost my keys and looked in couch, big mistake.The tub had a slow drain from hair that was not mine.... Cabin is great,needs deep clean.
