Esta es una casa colonial restaurada en el histórico barrio tranquilo de La Ermita, de pie en una de las calles más antiguas de adoquines en la gran ciudad de Mérida. La casa está situado en el centro nueve cuadras de la plaza principal colorido de Mérida, nueve cuadras de la espléndida principal mercado, y sólo unos pasos del encantador La Ermita Parque y jardín botánico del barrio.

La casa es ideal para una pareja, una acogedora casa con puertas originales yucatecos y ventanas, claraboyas, y pisos de pasta deslumbrantes. Un área de comedor al aire libre cubierto generosa se abre a un patio, piscina y jardín. Una escalera con encanto le conduce hasta una terraza soleada. El grande, cocina reformada es luminoso, totalmente equipado, y cocinar amable, con lavavajillas y amplia capacidad de almacenamiento. El dormitorio principal tiene un vestidor y el baño moderno con una ducha lo suficientemente grande para dos. Los techos altos originales 18 'ayudan a mantener todas las habitaciones fresco y ventilado.

Debido a la escalera y la profundidad de la piscina, la casa puede no ser adecuado para los niños pequeños.

This place is a gem in the heart of centro Merida. I would buy it in a heartbeat. Great 1/1 but very spacious, with an amazing backyard area with a private pool. Perfect for couple who just want to relax.

Hosts were helpful, and the house is absolutely amazing. The back area is as gorgeous as it looks in pictures. The home was well lit, the air conditioning and fans are exactly what you need, and the inside of the house is beautiful too. We would love to stay there again sometime!

This was one of my all time favorites. Location was close too 2 different plazas and everything else was a 5 uber ride max. It was absolutely a beautiful vrbo. Host is great and i have zero complaints. I would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

Very nice place, close to downtown, close to airport. We were able to walk almost everywhere and loved it! The pool and back yard is enthralling to sit in and watch the geckos and hummingbirds. Would definitely recommend and or stay again.

Just as advertised, but better

Amazing stay. We had a very pleasant week there, and as stated above, the property is just as it looks, well maintained and with attention to detail. I thank the property management folks, every was impeccable and Jesus was always ready to address our questions. Definitely would recommend this property.

This our second time staying at La Ermita house. Always a pleasure because we enjoye our visit. The house is comfortable and beautiful. Jesus and Derrick are great. Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short due to an emergency, but I sicerelt recommended it

This stay was everything my husband and I needed to slow down, soak up some sun, marvel at nature, and feel transported back in time. The sounds of the horses clopping down the old brick road at night was such an enchanting bonus! The little accommodations like the market bags, array of books, and yoga equipment were so thoughtful. Merida made us fall in love and we can't wait to come back to experience more of the Yucatan state.

Magnífica!

Great apartment with lots of space and high ceilings! Very clean, with well equipped kitchen and covered patio overlooking the garden and pool. Has a nice little grocery store about a block away and a new restaurant down the block. Located in a very residential area about a 15 minute walk from the grand plaza so recommended for those who enjoy a walk.

Old charm

Very charming place, only a short walk (about 10 min) to the main plaza. The only minus is the street is a bit noisy (buses) so if you are a light sleeper it could be a problem. Very responsive and generous owners. Thank you Derrick!

We booked three different properties for our two week visit to Mérida - this was the second of the three and it should have been the only one. For future trips to Mérida we will definitely be looking for this one to be available.There was absolutely nothing wrong with this property and the glowing reviews are all accurate. The photos in the listing do not do the place justice - it is remarkably beautiful and the back yard is a peaceful oasis to spend sunny afternoons. Communication with both the owners and with the property managers was excellent.You are close enough to the Cathedral and a couple of large markets to walk there, and there are several other places of interest also within easy walking distance. No car is needed, which was good because our car rental fell through when we arrived.In short, it is my opinion that you will be very happy to have chosen to stay here.

Perfect Location, Clean & Beautifully Maintained

The photos do not do the property justice; it’s a beautiful space with high ceilings and great breezeways (in addition to the three AC units). I was very comfortable despite the heat. Jesus - the property manager - was extremely helpful and communicative as well. The house is about a 15 min walk to the plaza grande but there are numerous gems in between - art galleries, cafes, and cantinas. It was the perfect home base for my week in Merida.

An absolutely lovely stay in a fantastic home. This isn’t a house, it really is a home. It’s in a neighborhood where horses clop by and the bread man rides his bike by every afternoon blowing a whistle to announce himself. The place is beautiful with everything you need and more. The communication with the owners and property manager was great. I didn’t have hot water one day and it was fixed within hours. I was met at the house by Jess who gave me a tour and even had a six pack in the fridge. I love the stay and will be back!

Beautiful Mérida

Everything in Casa Ermita was as described: great location, professional property management team, comfortable home - especially the bed! My favorite time of the day was breakfast on the terrace every morning. Traffic noise during the day is a reality, so is the barking dog next door and the piercing sound from someplace but that’s part of living in an authentic neighborhood in Mérida!

Lovely get away in Merida

Peaceful , comfortable and beautiful home in Merida . Gorgeous indoor and outdoor living . Well equipped kitchen and bath with all you need for a home away from home stay. The outdoor plunge pool and surrounding foliage and garden was very peaceful and a great reprieve from the hot Merida temperature during our visit. ( heat wave in March 102 deg F). Management team extremely responsive and kind. Owners notes and guide to the home extremely thorough and helpful . Close to many activities and Centro. People of Merida kind and very helpful . My husband and enjoyed our visit to this home !

Beautiful Merida

Casa La Ermita was exactly as described and absolutely filled with Merida charm. One of the reason we came to Merida was because of a North American TV show called House Hunters International. They featured Merida and the beautiful homes in Centro and Casa La Ermita lived up to our expectations. The patio area is a paradise in itself with the architectural arches and plunge pool that was used daily. The location was great and in the 2 weeks we spent there we used a taxi once as we found walking was no problem to get around. Merida is a beautiful city and our accommodations added to our amazing time there. The owners and the property manager were very nice and easy to communicate with and we’re very helpful. Upon arrival, after which had been a very long and hot day of travel, we did not get the house until late where the very kind and helpful Jesús met us to show us around the house and also had a 6 pack of cold beer waiting for us which was so appreciated. We would definitely rent Casa La Ermita again. Noreen & Reinhard Canada 🇨🇦

Beautiful House in a Central Location

We loved our 2-week stay at this comfortable, beautifully restored historic home in central Mérida! It felt like our home away from home while we explored Yucatán. We had excellent communication with the property managers! Before we arrived, the owners sent us a thorough house guide and recommendations for things to do in the city, which made us feel welcome and comfortable upon arrival. The housekeeper met us when we arrived to orient us to the house, and then he was very responsive to messages when we had questions. The house is spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed many meals in the large kitchen, which has a good supply of pans, utensils, and supplies. We also loved hanging out on the large back patio and in the pool on hot days! The living room and bedroom were comfortable and equipped with AC to keep the rooms cool. We could hear some noise from the street outside, but we found it negligible once we closed the bedroom doors at night. Everything was very clean, and we had plenty of linens and house supplies. The house's wifi connection works well for general browsing and sending emails, but it wasn't enough for video calls, streaming, or more than one person working. The house is about 3/4 mile from Centro Historico, and less than 1/4 mile from La Ermita or Parque San Juan for street tacos, snacks, or people-watching. Overall, an amazing place to see local life in Mérida and explore the region! Highly recommend!

This was a beautiful place to land in Merida. Our communication with Andy was exceptional. Truly a lovely place. The owner was concerned about possible noise from an ice cream producer behind the house. We found it negligible. Very safe and enjoyable visit. Would highly recommend it!

Beautiful retreat

This beautiful home was a great way to spend our 13 day stay. We learned real fast that it was just a short walk to so many shops and food with a beautiful park. Downtown was unique and everyone so friendly. Met the neighbors who were wonderful. The road is pretty busy, the backyard was like a retreat and relaxing. My mom is a chef and absolutely loved the kitchen and cooking in it. The owners and property manager were wonderful.

We were attracted to Merida from having visited in the past, and were encouraged by friends who live there to look into purchasing property. It is a vibrant, growing city where tradition and modern life mix gracefully. Its location in the heart of the Yucatan makes it an ideal departure point for exploring the rest of the country. It's an easy place to spend a lot of time in -- a perfect home away from home.
