This is a comfortable 2 bedroom, 1 bath home. We have gorgeous views and are close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Come and relax. Talk to the horses. Take a hike. Take a drive on the parkway. Or explore the area with local wineries and breweries, parks, and outdoor music. Pets are permitted for an additional fee. Please notify us upon booking.

Charming home!! Very pleased with how well the kitchen was stocked with the utensils, cookware and serving dishes for all our meals. No need to eat out! Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. The horses came to say hello every time we were outdoors!

The cottage was clean, well-equipped, attractively furnished and in a wonderful location. We especially enjoyed eating on the deck and visiting with the horses each evening with the backdrop of mountains.The hosts were gracious and helpful, responding immediately to a slight problem we had with the front door lock on arrival.

The area was great but the property needs a lot of attention. It smelled of mold / mildew and pets, the kitchen floor has sunken areas, the wifi was a “hot spot” which I didn’t realize stil existed, and the bed was very uncomfortable. The host was super nice.

Peaceful farm cottage

Quiet secluded cottage outside Roanoke. Short drive into town. Stayed here for a mountain bike event and it did the job. Horses on the property came to say hi a few times!

The home was clean and the location was nice but only commercial television was available and the deck cushions were dirty and wet and one of the deck chairs was not attached to its base. My wife sat outside and got wet not knowing the cushion was saturated. Not knowing that there was no cable or streaming available at the prices charged left us with a bad taste.

Relocation Travel

Fully stocked and clean..away from city noise but proximity to restaurants, grocery, within 5miles. Peaceful setting and if you like wild life the deer are plentiful. We loved seeing the horses everyday!! We would highly recommend staying here.

Peaceful stay

Lovely little home in the mountains on a horse farm. We enjoyed our stay so much. House had everything we needed. Only had to being food and clothing. I needed to adjust our booking and the owner responded right away and was so helpful. We will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend

Wonderful quiet \ private location

Stayed at the property for a week while motorcycling around Virginia. Location had quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and other wonderful roads. Close to restaurants and sites within Roanoke, yet secluded, private, and quiet to relax in the evenings. Owners were very accommodating and responsive to any issues or concerns and made sure we had a great stay. Would stay again next time we travel to the Roanoke area.

beautiful cottage

The cottage was wonderful for relaxing on the deck watching wildlife. The decor was beautiful and spotless. It was amply supplied with linens and the kitchen was the best I have seen in a vacation rental. I would go back tomorrow.

Peaceful, enjoyable stay!

We loved the beautiful surroundings of Jon and Heather’s cottage, located on the outskirts of Vinton where we wanted to be. The house is so sweet, furnished nicely and stocked with high-quality linens, extra chairs, hand soap, toilet paper, games and so much more. That really made for a convenient stay and we didn’t have to rush out to buy those necessities and were able to hang out as a family right away. The deck is lovely and provides extra space. The pull-out couch was new and my daughter said comfortable. I would highly recommend this house for a really nice stay at a reasonable price!

Fantastic, secluded family getaway

We were so pleased to be some of the first people to stay at this property. It was clean and loaded with some fantastic extras (microwave popcorn with seasoning options, coffee, board games, etc.)The location is a bit secluded, but that's exactly what we wanted. Any concerns were addressed quickly and professionally. We would definitely stay there again!

Great location

We were very much satisfied in the location for getting to Roanoke for a family reunion. It only took us about 20 minutes to get there which was great. The home was very accommodating and clean. We would recommend this property to everyone. You would not be sorry.

Fantastic Accommodations

We could not have had a better or more comfortable place to stay. The residence was extremely spotless and was stocked with everything that could be needed and then some. The beds were comfortable and the mountaintop location was amazingly beautiful! And the hosts were quick to respond to our question about the wifi. Mrs. Draeger personally came to make sure it was working. Would love to go back in the future to just stay a few days to relax as this time was for college commencement and we were pressed for time at the residence. We highly recommend to anyone needing a quiet comfortable place to consider this as their home away from home. Thank you Draeger Ridge Farm!🐎

This is an old horse farm that we bought a few years ago. When we drove up the driveway and saw the views, we fell in love immediately. We have been steadily repairing/rebuilding it ever since to bring it back to its former glory. We hope you’ll enjoy the views/property as well.
