Pool Days and Dock Nights | Pet Friendly, Pool!

Pool Days and Dock Nights is a classic corner canal front home on the bay side of the island that looks straight down the canal. This home is a cozy waterfront with a private pool located close to town and close to all attractions. This home is on 3 levels. The ground level has a painted floor, kitchenette and dining area featuring easy access via roll up garage door an to the pool area. There is a full bath on ground floor along with a full bedroom which was recently enclosed (queen size bed).

As you enter the home you will find an open concept style home. The 2nd level (main level) features two bedrooms and a full bath. The first bedroom on the main level is a queen size bed with full bath with tub/shower combo. The second bedroom of the main level features a queen bed and a walk through to 2 sets of twin bunks (room sleeps 6). The upper level of the home is where the primary bedroom is located. The primary bedroom has a king bed, TV, ceiling fan and en suite bath with separate tub for soaking and a huge walk in shower with both a rain head sprayer and a hand held sprayer. The living area is cozy and quaint for relaxing with the family.

The dining area is between the kitchen and living area, adding more seating. Perfect for meals and game time. The kitchen is airy with modern appliances. The bar adds more seating for snacks and room for cooking. All three levels of the home have Smart TVs, bring your Netflix or other streaming service login and password!

Enjoy the private pool and this is perfect for a relaxing stay at home day. Enjoy sunbathing either on the canal side or pool side with a nice refreshment.

Sleeping arrangements are as followed:
Primary bedroom: 1 King with en-suite (sleeps 2), Upper Level
Second bedroom: 1 Queen (sleeps 2),Main Level
Third bedroom: 1 Queen and 2 sets of twin bunks (sleeps 6) Main Level
Fourth bedroom Queen bedroom (sleeps 3) Ground Level
Living area: 1 Queen sleeper sofa (sleeps 2), plus 1 twin sleeping chair, Main Level

IN TOWN
Staying in town or near one of Galveston's Historic Districts has its own set of perks and is very different from the West End or near East Beach. Many in town homes are walking distance to the seawall, the beach, restaurants, shopping, the Historic Strand & Postoffice district, the Pleasure Pier, museums, the Galveston-Bolivar Ferry, plenty of other attractions, things to do, grocery stores, Texas A&M University, Shriner’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and UTMB (University of Texas Medical Branch), one of the largest, most technologically sophisticated emergency care facilities in the world, a level 1 trauma and burn center.

Events, parties, or guests attending prom are prohibited at this home, as well as any type of large gathering with guests not listed on the reservation's Guest Registration or exceeding the maximum occupancy. These provisions are strictly enforced by Ryson Vacation Rentals and City Police.

This vacation home should accommodate up to 4 vehicles to be parked at the property. Carpooling is highly recommended. Vehicles should be parked in the driveway or designated parking space. At no time should any vehicle be parked on lawns, yards or dune. Many HOAs do not allow parking for trailers, RVs, boats, etc. Please contact Ryson with any questions.

Pool and/or spa are serviced multiple times a week, and we make every effort to keep them in tip top shape. However, we cannot guarantee there won’t be a disruption, but we always make every effort to resolve any issues ASAP.

The boat slip is available for guest use.

Even if listed as a provided amenity, Ryson is unable to guarantee specific cable packages, networks, channels, cable signal quality, or internet signal quality. Cable may not be available on all TVs.

All reservations require a completed Ryson Rental Agreement, and the agreement holder must be at least 25 years of age to rent this property and provide a valid ID at check-in. Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is at 10 am.

Wish it would have been better
The house was OK and needs some improvements. We called the first day as 3rd floor toilet leaking, ceiling coming apart in living/dining room area. They came out next day. The biggest problem we had was the pool. Specifically chose house for this. Chlorine level was 5 times the amount needed. We had our own tester. Called when we got there and no one even called back. Went and bought dechlorinator and corrected issue, but then pool company came and put shock and Chlorine back in. Completely messed it up again. We then had to go to Leslie's Pools to get dechlorinator again just so we could swim. No manager even called until April called on the 5th day. She was very nice and was able to refund us. We only used pool 3 out of 7 days. The owners need to drain the pool completely and start over. It was so cloudy you could not ever see the bottom. Other minor repairs... kitchen faucet needs bolted down, 2nd floor bathrrom you have to lift lid to fill all the time, downstairs bedroom smells stale and we sprayed Febreze constantly. The house is nice and beds comfortable. Just needs TLC and a pool company that knows what they are doing.

Pleased with home
House was clean, it was a nice location. Pool was cleaned right away when called. It was nothing bad where we couldn’t use it till they came. We enjoyed the home, AC worked very well. We enjoyed the pier for fishing and swam while we were there. I wish they provided trash bags but we bought some. I would rent there again.

I was very happy with the location and the view but inside was totally different.
Inside the house needs a lot of work. The kitchen counters were infested with ants, we bought Raid but the next morning it was like we hadn’t done a thing. Cockroaches are still present in fact my granddaughters came home with them in their suitcases which didn’t make anyone happy! The stove only 1 burner worked. I feel the house just needs some major upkeep. The family had a lot of fun in the pool and all of us adults loved the view from the deck, just sad due to the ants and cockroaches it put a damper on things. Probably would never return.

Comfy beds, pool needed cleaned
The property was clean and as advertised. It was a short drive to get to any restaurants or the beach. Our only issue was the cleanliness of the pool. It was green and clouded the day we arrived. After several attempts to have someone out to clean it, they arrived on our 3 day of our stay. They did improve the look of the water enough for us to enjoy the pool for the rest of our stay; however, it was never clear enough to see the bottom of the pool. We enjoyed doing several things around town and cooking dinner back at the house. We had a wonderful stay!

Horrible Spring Break - Do not recommend without significant improvements
Property said it sleeps 15 with 3 bathrooms. I couldn't make 15 work if I brought my own air mattresses. Basement bedroom not usable due to mold all over pillows, blankets and in drawer. Bathroom in basement also not usable due to chain continuing to come unhooked and odor. Not to mention just shier worry of having children sleeping down there with the mold. Blinds broken, couch ripped, cockroaches galore and simple basic amenities at every vacation rental I've ever stayed at weren't included for a week's worth of vacation, trash bags, salt & pepper, aluminum foil, etc. Yesterday, after all the rain the kids walked on the dock and the boards broke and a portion of the dock literally came apart and one child was hurt. I have a 4 year old out there as well, extremely unsafe. Not close to any attractions, everything is driving distance which seemed misleading as well.
