Beachfront Family Escape on Chesapeake Bay

Bay Breeze is a beachfront home located in a small community on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay outside of Mathews, VA. Step off the front deck and enjoy ~2 miles of private white sandy beaches overlooking the beautiful bay. The home sleeps 6, with 3 bedrooms (King, Queen, Full) and 2 full bathrooms plus an outdoor shower. The house has 2 large decks and a screened in porch great for sipping coffee or cocktails. The primary bedroom has a large deck accessible for great views of the sun and moon rise.

Guests can enjoy the water and sand with full access to our beach chairs, floats, sand toys, crab trap, and 2 kayaks. While here we hope you enjoy the quiet bay & beach and get to take in bird sightings, fishing & crabbing, and dolphins (try to catch them in the morning as they swim out of the bay)!

Vacation

Rented this property from the previous owner and loved it,they had a trash service back then that was nice,this trip we had to take our trash to a drop off site,only drawback is that the total rent price with a fee that i dont agree with has doubled the rental total,had fun and nice seeing the beach kitty again!

Ultimate relaxation

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wanted somewhere quiet and private and we had both at this location. I was worried my children would be bored after a while because it was soooo quiet, but the owner had kayaks available for use, and we all took advantage of them. I enjoyed watching my younger children grow in their confidence paddling around. It was a wonderful getaway! We hope to visit this VRBO again in the future.

Perfect for a relaxing gals getaway!

The location is amazing!! Practically a private beach! Amazing for a relaxing getaway. House is clean and very well equipped with nearly everything you need... except a full length mirror :) There are lots of stairs, something to consider if that is an issue for you. The closest town is Mathews, and while it is a lovely little town, the quaint little shops seem to never be open. We attempted on 3 occasions to visit the local shops and each time they were all closed. If you are looking for a superb meal, I highly recommend the White Dog Bistro!!

We love the area, this was our third year staying in the area. It’s beautiful & peaceful. We had the best time swimming, kayaking, fishing & visiting downtown Mathews for dining, shopping & the farmers market. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us!

The house was great, amazing deck with 180 degree view of the Chesapeake bay. Friendly / responsive host, house was comfortable and clean with an awesome master bedroom. Five stars on all counts :)

The peace and tranquility we were craving

The views from these decks are absolutely perfect. We enjoyed very minute in the home. We were looking to relax and rejuvenate and that is what we did. Every night we feel asleep to the sounds of lapping waves and woke to the beauty of the sun shining through the house. There isn’t much to do in the area but we were able to walk around the entire end of the peninsula. If you are looking to relax with great views then this is your place!

Beautiful and Relaxing

This property on the Chesapeake Bay is wonderful. The views from the property are spectacular and the waves breaking on the beach just feet away provide for a very relaxing experience. I will definitely rent this property again in the future. The owner is also very accommodating to our schedule change due to hurricane Ian.

Another Relaxing Stay

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at this wonderful place. I have nothing but great things to say. If you want a quiet get-a-way, this is your place. We did venture out to Gloucester and ate at YROC Coastal Grill and that was also amazing. Thanks again Dan for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

Great time on the Bay

This property is beautiful and exactly as described. The beach is beautiful and very secluded. The kayaks and crabtrap were great as we caught crabs everyday! A few things that were surprising/I would change, it is very remote. The closest gas station is 15 minutes and the nearest restaurant is about 20 minutes. Plan on cooking a lot. The coolware lacks a large stockpot so bring one if you wanna do a crab boil from the ones you catch outside your door. There is no trash service or an outdoor trashcan so you have to take it to a Center which is 20 minutes away. Water shoes are recommended as the sand is soft but there are quite a few rocks in the water which can scratch your feet.

Blissful slice of heaven

What a beautiful location and comfortable home to enjoy! The view is everything! I enjoyed walking the beach, going to the farmers market in town, spotting dolphins in the early mornings, waking to the sunrise, yoga on the upper deck, kayaking, and reading books on the screened in patio as the waves crashed to shore. My teens enjoyed swimming and lounging. This was the perfect spot to end a busy school year. Thank you and we hope to be back!

Exceptional Rental

We thoroughly enjoyed renting this property on the Chesapeake Bay in Matthews County. The accommodations and views were spectacular. The property was very clean and well maintained and the top floor bedroom provides exceptional views of the entire Chesapeake Bay and on clear days you could even see the Eastern shore. I would highly recommend this rental for families or couples seeking a great vacation spot. I will certainly rent this property agains without hestitation.

This beach house was amazing! It was very clean and beautiful. Everyone was so friendly and we had everything we needed. The views were breathtaking and the beach was beautiful.My daughter had a blast playing in the water and finding shells.I highly recommend this place.A great place to relax and just enjoy yourself! I took my wife for her birthday she loved it.

WONDERFUL HOME!

If you want a vacation home to relax and rejuvenate, this is the place for you. The views are great, and the house is beautiful and clean! It was a fantastic weekend. The town of Matthews has everything you need for supplies and restaurants, but my advice is to bring what you need because it's hard to leave once you get there. I would highly recommend this home and can't wait to go back!!!
