The "Crabby Shack" is a ten-minute drive from Buckroe Beach. The cozy 2111 sq ft home is located on a river with private lake views and perfect for your next summer getaway.

The house comes with a master queen suite and 2 queen bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen. The living room has a TV and sofa bed with access to the sunroom to savor your morning cup of joe surrounded by the idyllic/peaceful lake. The backyard is spacious for fishing and crabbing, barbecue and s’mores, or sipping piña coladas on the patio deck while watching stunning sunsets.

The space
This ranch style single home can comfortably host up to 6 guests with a master queen ensuite bedroom, 2 queen sized bedrooms, and a full bathroom. There is a nice sunroom/patio to enjoy gorgeous river views and a spacious backyard for fishing/crabbing in a quiet friendly neighborhood.

Guests have full access to the house, excluding the garage. The spacious and wide driveway allows multiple cars to park. The double front doors and single level home are easily accessible for everyone.

SAFETY NOTE: There is a step from the driveway to the front doors, then a small step onto the house. PLEASE WATCH YOUR STEP!

Great Stay!!!

This house was great! We stayed 7 days and were well satisfied. The location was good and was well within a short distance of many eating places, as well as places to visit. The city is rich with history and the beaches were great. My son enjoyed the fishing in the back yard, and we all loved sitting on the patio and watching the river. We would definitely visit again.

Great place

This was a great home base for exploring the area. Close to Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Norfolk and the beaches the property is sutuated on a quiet street on a calm bay. We enjoyed the screened in patio overlooking the water all week and even did some fishing off the dock. Nice room to spread out and a fully equipped kitchen. Owner was super responsive to questions and made our stay enjoyable. I would definitely recommend!

lovely house for watching wildlife

I used this property to have a reunion and graduation celebration for my son.The house is perfectly appointed, but the true star of the home is the back yard. Sitting on the bend of the river give you 180’ view of the most beautiful landscape – including all the wildlife and horses in a neighboring property. We enjoyed the shade of the large oak tree while watching birds, fish and eagles pass by. I would suggest bringing your binoculars to get a good look. The host provided plenty of outdoor chairs for us to use.

The perfect place to relax

We have stayed at numerous vacation rentals in NC, VA, KY, and Ohio and this ranks at the top of the list. The home was well stocked and had everything you would need plus more. The location was perfect for fishing or just relaxing on the back porch. There are plenty of beaches that are a short drive away and tons of restaurants around the area. We certainly would return to this home again.

Summer vacation

The house was large, clean, and nicely furnished . The back yard was fantastic-right on a beautiful river. There were all sorts of water birds, and across the river there was a property with a large number of horses to watch graze in the open field. It was easy to travel to all the historical sites and beaches from this home base.

Wonderful Property

The house was spacious and clean. The view from the backyard was very relaxing. The neighbors were pleasant, and the neighborhood was quiet. The original listing stated that we would have access to the dock, but it was boarded closed when we arrived. That was the only discrepancy within the listing, and it really wasn’t that big of a deal. Vin was very helpful with any questions that we had. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Wonderful property

We really enjoyed our stay. My husband has ALS reqires a wheelchair and walker to get around and we had a hard time finding a single level home.This home worked very well for our special needs even though it is not handicap accessible home. We had really great communication with the owner he responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had. My brother and his family live 15 minutes away. We would absolutely book this home again for future family visits.

We were looking for a house large enough for 6 adults to spend Thanksgiving with our son who is stationed in Norfolk. The house was very easy to find. Check in instructions were very clear. There was plenty of space to spread out! Dining table was large and could also fit us easily. It was too cold to fully enjoy the backyard but it looked nice and we could see the horses on adjacent property across the river. Too cold to fish and salt water( we only had fresh water poles)Make sure to bring spices you need to cook with- We had to go to the store for things as small as salt and pepper as there was none. We did bring our own pots and pans as we were prepping Thanksgiving - but there are small pots and cooking sheets available. Plenty of plates and silverware which was great. We noticed when washing a few dishes the sink was fine, but as we were washing all the dishes by hand after Thanksgiving the sink would fill with water. When we tried to use garbage disposal thinking that would clear it it would not work at all. (We put food scraps in the garbage- not in disposal) I did make owner aware and he assured it all worked properly before we arrived. I wish we tried all of that upon arrival had we known. We were woken up by what sounded like a puppy or small dog in distress at the neighbors, but know they have a large dog in a cage in the backyard day and night that does bark as you come and go. Overall this property was great and very enjoyable by everyone in our group!

Blackbeard Festival in Hampton

We recently stayed at the River Front house in Hampton. Vin was a great host and responded to all inquiries in a timely manner. Upon arrival the house was found in a very clean condition and the house was tasteful decorated. We were traveling with my adult brother, who has mobility issues and is in a wheelchair. The single floor living was perfect to accommodate my brother. The master suite with a walk-in shower also accommodated a person with disabilities. The only minor negative comment would be there was no handicap handles in the walk in showerbut we figured it out. The other two bedrooms were cozy and comfortable. The backyard was amazing! Beautiful views and a little slice of paradise for any outdoor enthusiast. Fishing was decent, this Pennsylvanian probably could have used some pointers fishing the brackish waters. The sun room was perfect for morning coffee and see me bird watching. Vin has provided all of the confronts of home and the house even has beach chairs, for a visit to Buckroe Beach. The neighborhood was very quiet and the neighbors were friendly. We were close to everything and found some really good restaurants in collose proximity. My family and I would highly recommend using Vin again. If we ever visit the Virginia Beach/ Hampton area again we will definitely book this place again!

Diamond in the hood

This is a lovely home clean and everything you see on the site is just like you see. You are being watched by neighbors and video surveillance. I was injured on the property because the owner does not allow use of the garage and I needed to park my chair inside… he did suggest the neighbors may let me use their electric I just drove up the road to Wallmart. It was cold in the morning and they have a certain temperature they want you to use. I did like the fact there was a book with instructions on house rules….It is close to shopping but in a neighborhood that is being refurbished. There are towels but no washer and dryer that I saw in the discription. I knew that we were being watched because when I fell on the step and my nephew called an ambulance the owner called me to say the neighbors called him and said an ambulance was on the property. I told him yes I fell and broke my nose I’m 3 different places…..overall the house is nice cheaply decorated but ok. The outside gate leading to the backyard was locked so the only access to the backyard was through the house! There was a nice back porch with some exercise equipment on it. Overall not that bad. I would give it a C+there were TV’s in every room which was a plus! Plenty of parking in the driveway.

Barbara, Again, sorry about your injury - hope you’re doing well. The house description you have known in advance indicates the garage and washer/dryer are not available. You’re not being watched but this is a neighborhood watch community so when an ambulance came to our house, our neighbors would notify me to ensure everything is ok and to offer any assistance if needed.
