ALL YOU NEED IS YOUR SWIMSUIT AND SUNSCREEN....Want to get "Back to the Beach " the house is only 50 steps to the beach boardwalk, and you have a private tropical oasis with spectacular water views! Tucked behind lush tropical foliage. Located in a gated community. This home boasts an oversized living room with panoramic water views. The living room is large enough to enjoy playing games or watching movies on the 57in Flat screen TV with your family and friends. The beach is just down the sandy driveway, 50 steps to the boardwalk! This makes it very easy for families to travel back and forth to the beach with all the beach toys, chairs and umbrella and paddle Board that are included in this rental (you must supply your own helmets for bicycles and life preservers for paddle board use) The kitchen includes updated stainless appliances and an oversized sink to make cleaning up a breeze. There are two identical owner suites with new comfortable king beds, walk in closets and 42in flat screen TV's. The bunk room is equipped with two full size beds (Bunk Bed Style) and a 47in flat screen TV. All TV's have Netflix to watch your favorite movie. The home is stocked with games and puzzles to enjoy after a long day on the beach. We include a beach cart, beach towels, beach toys, bicycles (you must provide your own helmets), a paddle board (you must provide your own life preserver) The community offers great amenities which include a fitness center, pickle ball court, tennis courts, and 2 pools. These amenities are easily accessible with only a 2-block walk/bike ride or a 2-minute drive. The vegetation on this tropical 1-acre property makes this home a great place for bird watching! A great family trip to the beach! Our host, Wendy was thoughtful and a great communicator.The house and location are wonderful. The home is well appointed and so welcoming. You can tell this is a home meant for families to enjoy time together. Between games, a kayak and SUP, bunk beds, restaurant recommendations, blocks, smart tvs (perfect for watching college bowl games after a day at the beach), this was the perfect spot to unwind. I loved that the decor was thoughtful and fun and not a sterile and bland like some beach rentals.The beach is easy to get to (which i say from a perspective of traveling with 3 small kids). Definitely recommend this VRBO space!

A Delightful Stay!

We stayed at Back to the Beach for two weeks - we were five older adults and two 20yos - and everyone was comfortable and happy with the house. The house had everything as described along with many extras. We used the chairs, umbrellas, cart, floats, paddleboard, and the bikes - it was so great of the owners to share them with us. The kitchen had everything we needed, including two types of coffee machines, a variety of sharp knives, lots of pots and pans, and cleansers. The mattresses were of excellent quality, and there were plenty of pillows and extra blankets. There were a lot of seating options for watching movies comfortably, playing games, eating, working on puzzles, and reading. The community was beautiful and quiet. We've stayed in a lot of houses all over SGI for the past 35 years, and the center of the island can be very active - and that which might be what you're looking for. At Back to the Beach, we saw lots of people, but we enjoyed the overall quiet of the neighborhood and always found a good spot on the beach. (No fireworks in the middle of the night this year to scare our dog, thank goodness!) We enjoyed bike rides in the natural environment and being able to use the community workout room, too.Wendy checked on us periodically and treated us like guests. Our communication was friendly and easy, and I felt very comfortable touching base with her throughout our stay.The fam gave me lots of points for booking BttB! This one's a keeper! Thanks, Wendy!

Super location that is secluded but just a minutes walk from the beach!The bikes that came with the property we're great! As a family we probably spent more time on those than in the water! Such a peaceful place! We're in love with the island and this property!

Excellent In Every Respect

Our experience renting Back To The Beach was excellent in every respect. Wendy, the owner, was great to work with. Communication was very proactive and detailed both in advance of and during our stay. We had 4 adults and 2 young children and the layout of the house was perfect for us. The house is located on a quite nice large shaded lot across the street from the beach, with very good views and easy short walking access to the beach. Additionally, the owners really want to make their guests stay as enjoyable as possible and provide beach chairs, a beach wagon, bicycles, etc., all of which were in very good condition. We had stayed at St. George Island many times, but this was our first time in the Plantation; the Plantation is more scenic, much more private and better maintained than the rest of the Island which is still quite nice in itself. Bottomline, our experience in renting Back To The Beach was excellent in every respect.

Family Perfect!!

Last minute get away with my seventeen year old son. Everything was absolutely perfect!! House has everything you would need, plus so many more fun extras. We enjoyed riding the bicycles provided by the owner to the community pool. Communication response time was excellent and helpful. Thankful for spending quality time in a relaxing atmosphere before he begins his senior year. Memories for a life time.

Great location! In plantation gated community. 2 min walk to the beach. Had excellent amenities, as well as the plantation club house. Kids loved the bikes to ride. Clean house with a beautiful view. Loved the surrounding foliage that gave some nice privacy as well. Definitely would come here again!

Back to the Beach

Back to the Beach is an excellent vacation home. The home is lovely inside and out. The home is nicely furnished with plenty of room for a large family. The space under the house is very nice also and a great place to hang out when tired of the sun. Wendy is an excellent host and so nice to provide beach chairs, umbrellas and a beach cart. I highly recommend this home and hope to stay again.

Great getaway

Back to the Beach was a wonderful place to stay! It is mere steps from the beautiful beach, and had many amenities. The eclectic decor was enchanting. The home was clean and well-maintained, and kitchen was very well equipped. Provided games and puzzles kept our family entertained every night! Beach chairs and bicycles kept us busy every day. We brought paddle boards to use in Nick’s Hole inside the Plantation. Best of all, Wendy made sure everything was perfect for our stay. We highly recommend and look forward to visiting again.

Wendy was absolutely wonderful to work with - very helpful from prior to booking through the last day of trip- very responsive and a caring host! ‘Back to the Beach’ provided a relaxing and fun environment to create a memorable vacation with our family! The home is beautiful, spacious and clean. Bikes, kayak, beach toys/chairs so helpful to have accessible! Fun activities within minutes of our front door from pickleball, corn hole to the pool and fitness center. Our trip to SGI and ‘Back to the Beach’ will remain a special memory close to our hearts!

Awesome place to stay in St. George!

Back to the Beach was our favorite house we've ever stayed in on St. George Island. The rooms are oversized and comfortable, the kitchen was well-stocked and the proximity to the beach was amazing. The house is very secluded yet right there at the beach access walkway. The house was clean and everything (like internet!) was in working order. We arrived to a thoughtful welcome basket which was greatly appreciated and all of the instructions for the house, access codes, etc. were clearly displayed. Wendy is a wonderful host and provides a lot of extras like bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas, toys and a cart - it was a dream to go to the beach and not have to bring those items. She is also very accommodating and responsive. 10/10 - great experience!

Wonderful family vacation

We really enjoyed our close beach access. We did put the umbrella and chair out for one in our party who was not getting in the ocean, but we enjoyed just jumping in the ocean for an hour or so and then running back to the house to rinse off in the outdoor shower and then returning to the beach to look for shells or just walk the beach. We used the bikes to travel on some of the paths and did use them to go to the pool one day when the seaweed got a little more than we could handle in the ocean and we didn't want to get the car seats wet. The pool is beautiful. I enjoyed time on the porch in the morning where you can see a little of the ocean, but the best part is that you can hear it. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen sufficient for all our meals. Wendy also had some coffee there that we tried and really liked. Wendy was very responsive to all our questions and communications. And we took her advice to eat dinner at the Blue Parrot which was very good. She also highly recommended a visit to the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve which I thought was really well done, and I am glad we did not miss that. We really enjoyed our family vacation!

Back to the Beach has a great vibe. The lot is beautiful and secluded but it is just a short walk to the beach. The owner was great to work with. The house was perfect for our family, very clean and in great shape.

Great Vacation!

Wendy was wonderful to work with, she messaged us on our way saying that the property was ready early! Great location, secluded, a large lot and a short walk to the beach. All the toys we needed were supplied - bikes, beach cart, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and even beach towels. The home is very spacious and kitchen was well stocked. Thanks!

Amazing vacation!

Great location! An individual house in quiet gated community. Long run/bike path to keep up with your exercise schedule. Easy and close access to the beach. All beach necessities provided which was an extremely nice amenity. Wendy was so helpful and wonderful to work with! We will absolutely be back!!!

Great house with lots of extras!

We have been staying at the beach for years and this property went above and beyond. The owner left bikes for us to use during our visit, along with beach chairs, umbrellas and beach toys for the kids (and carts to get it to the beach). The beach is an easy walk and there are hardly any people, even in June. The pool was nice as well - it is a nice walk or a quick drive. The house was great for our two families. The host was so kind and communicated with us before and during our trip. She gave us great suggestions on places to visit. The island is so charming! The one grocery store had pretty much all we needed! Hardly any people on the beach… amazing for Florida in June. We will be back!!!

Wow!! What an amazing secluded beach and house!

We took our kiddos there for spring break for a much needed rest and some relaxation! The beach is steps away, close enough for our toddler to walk on her own there! The beach was stunning, and isolated for us to enjoy ourselves. The house had such a modern beach vibe, and the living room was a great place for the whole family to get together on the rainy day and play games together. The scrabble game brought us all together! We will have to book again next year!

Holiday "Back to the Beach" Getaway

By all accounts our week staying at "Back to the Beach"met or exceeded all expectations. The home was clean, spacious and very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was fully accessorized. There were numerous extras available for use including beach chairs + equipment, beach towels, bicycles, and the house was stocked with many games. Our host, Wendy was available throughout the planning process and during our stay to assist us with our questions and needs. The location is wonderful. Just a very short walk to a fantastic beach. For the end of December we had some very good "beach" days. We had some wonderful beach walks and bike rides during the week. Our granddaughter enjoyed playing in the sand and collecting shells. This was our first visit to St. George Island. We met many people who are regular visitors and we all agreed that we would like to return. We enjoyed everything about the island including the shops, the restaurants, and visiting the lighthouse. This was a great family holiday getaway!

My Husband and I met 43 years ago as high school sweethearts in New York. We then moved to Atlanta for him to attend Chiropractic college at Life University. Atlanta became our home where we raised our 4 children. We have always loved vacationing with our children and creating memories together. We truly enjoy spending time together as a family! My husband and I always promised each other one day...we would get back to the beach! The time finally came, our dream became a reality "Back To The Beach". After 9 years of ownership, many fun trips and countless memories. We decided we wanted to share it with others so they could experience St. George Island as well.
